    Before the announcement of Sony's Sonic movie, there were earlier attempts at producing a cinematic feature film for Sega's blue hedgehog like MGM's movie project, Hurst's SatAM movie project, Penders' Archieverse movie project and maybe even some other attempts. It would be interesting to find more informations about these cancelled theatrical productions. I think it would be cool if somebody could find stuff like scripts, treatments, concept art and more. What do you know? What do you think?

    I saw it today and I had a great time with this movie. And it was great to see Sonic and more. And that Iron Giant vs Mechagodzilla fight. Holy ****!

    According to a LinkedIn profile for TV writer Grant Moran (whose credits include Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures and Batman), a new Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon was in the works between the months of May and October 2007, some 3 years after Sonic X concluded.     Here is an old interview from 2013, with Rich Moore and head of Sonic Team, Takashi Izuka. In it, Moore mentions he was disappointed that Sonic had such little screentime in the first film.     SEGA and Paramount finalize deal for Sonic the Hedgehog film Just yesterday, we learned that the Sonic the Hedgehog film will open in theaters on November 15, 2019. Now, SEGA of America has announced it has reached a final agreement with Paramount Pictures to co-produce the movie. This move represents an important next-step in the expansion of the Sonic the Hedgehog IP, bringing the character to new audiences globally. As part of the IP strategy for Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA Group has been working to expand this character beyond the video game market to become an entertainment franchise. Recently, Sonic has appeared as an animated character on television, consumer products, console and mobile games, and more.     The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie has gotten a 2019 release date The upcoming film based on the SEGA video game character Sonic the Hedgehog has been given a 2019 release date, according to THR. The Sonic film will be produced by Neal H. Moritz and Deadpool director Tim Miller will executive produce with Toby Ascher. Dimitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will co-produce. The film will appear in theaters on November 15, 2019 and will be directed by Jeff Fowler (Gopher Broke) Source
