  1. Oh hey Drinker, was expecting you to turn up at some point. I mean, it's Disney. Not sure what you expected.
  2. Forgive me if I feel...pessimistic. But Colours Ultimate's state, especially on Switch, kind of confirmed to me that Sega just sees Sonic as a quick buck. If they rush out a port that someone else made, I fear what will happen to something with any actual ambition in it...
  3. Ahh yes, is this from the same line of thinking that prohibits time travel in Chinese media to prevent Chinese citizens from looking back on earlier times before The Great China Era? That's not sketchy at all. And these guys just shook hands with the TALIBAN. HOW DOES ANYONE NOT SEE THE RED FLAGS
  4. I get the impression this WASN'T supposed to leak like this. XD Still tho. Honestly? It looks good!
  5. Weird I never considered the idea of RE Fan games. Just never entered my mind.
  6. Okay, so this is...a weird one. Ever heard of the Caretaker? A 20-year music project by one man, and his magnum opus...is this. Everywhere at the End of Time. A six-album, six hour, utterly devastating trip through the deteriorating mental state of someone with Dementia. It is haunting and terrifying...and its early stages are stuck in my head. It's, actually stopped me from sleeping some nights. Just seems like the kind of thing people on these forums like; something to just discuss for hours. Or, many posts. It even has fan-made tribute albums like Nowhere at The Millennium of Space and Everywhere In The Beginning Of Nowhere. And Everywhere at the End of Time (Schizophrenia Edition). That one is just...nightmarish.
  7. Sometimes, it can feel like Sonic Zones, especially modern ones, can feel randomly named. Like Sonic Team threw a bunch of nouns and colours into a hat and picked some out at complete random. But then me and @TheRedStrangerdecided that would make a fun writing exercise for the site. And so! Here be the Rules to [Colour] [Noun] Zone. Step 1: Get ten randomly generated colours and ten randomly generated nouns (or just use one random colour). Step 2: Put those nouns and colours together to make the most reasonable-sounding Zones you can. Step 3: Give each one a little backstory. It's actually a touch harder than it sounds, but it gets the brain juices pumping. Here are my ten; Ivory Scene Zone: A beautiful beach off the coast of Green Hill, with ivory sands as far as the eye can see, a perfect start to any adventure. Curry Category Zone: Within the Sonic's World version of India, dash frantically between busy streets and avoid the heat from the spices - and Eggman's robotic army! Silver King Zone: Rush through the castles of shining royalty to repel the invading force of Eggman's robots and protect the leaders of the country. Luminous Description Zone: It's dark, but for the flickering lights of the wildlife within this cave. Utilise their organic light to find your way out of this labyrinth. Cyan Fishing Zone: A remote part of the Emerald Coast, rife with fish and beautiful sea for miles around. Dark Sympathy Zone: Trapped in your own mind, navigate this twisted parody of your surroundings and escape this maddening illusion! Orange Advice Zone: A beautiful sunset in the city, but your friend is missing on his date! Did Eggman get to him? You better find him, and fast! Signal Red Series Zone: A techno-futuristic theme park filled with all sorts of speed-fueled attractions. Ride barrier-breaking rides and face perilous multi-story drops! Ruby Response Zone: The city is under attack by the Black Arms! As the skies turn red above you, team up with local law enforcement to save the people from this invasion! Brown Bread Zone: ...You played I am Bread and it broke you, huh. Like, you're hallucinating platforming around on giant loafs of bread. Why? As you can see, I didn't get a fantastic selection, and I somehow read my own rules wrong, but I'm sure YOU will have a better go at it!
  8. Whoever that guy ticked off, he's very likely regretting it.
  9. Well, we know about it now. I agree it seems weird to announce it TWO YEARS beforehand, but then the movie was announced in 2014 and released back in February. My guess is that Sega felt pressured into the announcement after fans called them out on their radio silence after promises of BIG NEWS all year. Sonic always seems to have a history of troubled production. :P Personally, I'm cautiously excited. It could be good, so long as it avoids the same sort of trappings X and Boom did. The problem is, as ever, how much SEGA's mandates are going to affect what the characters can do and what stories can be told.
  10. https://twitter.com/NXOnNetflix/status/1337079639508967425 I shouldn't be hyped...but I wanna be hyped.
  11. Easy. RPG. Chronicles was a disaster but a Sonic RPG should not be dead concept because of one thing. Maybe a game where the Sonic crew is playing a Dungeons and Dragons game. Or rather, Hedgehogs and Hydras.
  12. No joke, I made two rosters for a potential Sonic the Fighters 2. ...TWO of them. One based off of Injustice and one more of its own thing. I'll see if I can find at least some of 'em.
  13. Revved Up is hella fun, and it's nice they brought in Manic without endless Underground jokes. Hopefully Sonia's next.
  14. I feel I'd be able to hack it in a manual car. XD I'mma be honest, I really, really didn't like the direction they took their personalities in The Grand Tour. Yes in Top Gear they played heightened versions of themselves but it felt like the BBC was keeping them from taking it too far. Then Amazon gives them free reign and they took it WAY too far. They make genuinely tasteless and unfunny jokes, mock stuff that is quite serious and their Detroit episode is painful. They went from amusingly annoying to genuinely insufferable.
  15. Well to establish how I feel about the mobile games; Sonic Dash; it's good, but I actively avoid playing it to avoid becoming addicted. Sonic Dash 2; honestly underrated, but it sadly just got abandoned after Shadow got released. Sonic Runners; honestly, deserved to get shut down for how awful its methods of getting characters was. Yay gambling(!) Sonic Jump Fever; it aight Sonic Forces Speed Battle: Love-Hate. Good idea, but the mechanics are set up to make rare characters distinctly inferior to normal characters as you'll struggle to get them to level 5 when Amy (who is broken, btw) is already max level. Sega Heroes: RIP Sega Heroes, even if Sonic was too broken for his own good. Sonic and the Olympic Games; a shallow minigame collection with Super Mario Run's literal paywall. AVOID. When're we gonna get a Chao Mobile game, Sega? Segaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  16. Sadly so. I feel a lot of modern movies are chasing the Marvel gravy train with none of the nuance or patience.
  17. Ooh, been meaning to find a new Sonic story to read to get back into the fold.
  18. So here's some cool thing SEGA's doing for their celebrations; https://store.steampowered.com/app/1368460/Golden_Axed_A_Cancelled_Prototype/
  19. Hmm, obscure movies. Ooh, I know! There's this film called Upgrade, released in 2018. Kinda flew under the radar for most people, I only know if it 'cause I saw the Kill Count episode on it. BUT it's a really good movie. It's got a neat future world that isn't cluttered like a lot of modern depictions of Futurism, a neat plot, some great acting and some absolutely beautiful cinematography. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36PDeN9NRZ0
