For one thing, they have some idiot leftists in charge who are "in bed" with the CCP.

However, Australia is working on that. In response, Chinese authorities have detained an Australian television anchor.

I am aware of this poor guy, he reminds me of myself in this regard. I have been an outspoken critic of the human rights abuses in socialist states like China, the RF, NK, and Venezula, much to the chagrin of students wishing to quench a burning conscience, and maintain a superficial sense of sanctimony.  It seems there are some in the west that are happy to sell their souls to tyranny if it means they get to be first pick in the breadline, or have someone else pay their individual debts and dues through coercion.

Sadly, this is true.

Gazprom is basically the only economic trump card Russia has over Europe. We can choke them out by supplying Europe with our own abundant sources of liquefied natural gas. If Germany rejects Russian pipelines, it rejects Russian influence, and Russian economic growth. It's sad to say, given the innocent civilian lives under their socialist nationalized energy-oligarchy, but we can easily make them go full Venezula and force change from the bottom up their, if we continue our current energy policies, and don't let them strangle us via "green" lobbyists acting knowingly or hopefully mostly unknowingly as their proxies, like China has globally.

More China news from NTD:

200+ family property confiscated overnight; 3 typhoons in 2 weeks, China's grain production suffers {video]

Quote

Typhoons are rare in northeast China. But recently, three typhoons made an impact there within two weeks. All of China's important grain production areas have suffered severe flooding or typhoons.

Recent news around Disney’s film Mulan has sparked discussion over China exporting its censorship to Hollywood. Similar examples of the US film industry yielding to Beijing's demands abound.

Chinese military appears to have stationed bombers in areas close to the border with India. This, as both sides had their first fire exchange in decades on disputed borders.

And within 2 hours, China's fighter jets approached Taiwan 24 times. This, as Taiwan is testing weapons off the island’s coast.

I don't see anybody saying "Defund Hollywood"yet ;)

It's prudent for Japan to abandon its pacifism as of late. I don't think it flies in the 21st century. Japan is very resource poor, it needs lots of exports. It's we find them so  "whacky" they provide services like anime, our precious blue-hedgehog, and weird robots simply to thrive. Neoliberal thinking will literally starve them. Industrialization and services are everything in the wake of China's cheap labor and attempts at resource dominance, especially in the South China Sea. They have to be skeptical about trade with a communist, neo-imperialist China, at the least.

 I expect Suga too:

 1) Increase naval power & military training with the US.

2) Decenstralize green tech like solar and slowly and reintegrate nuclear in safe places.

3) Decrease Chinese trade and push for trade deals with the UK, India, US, and Australia.

4) Help pressure Indochina and the Philippines through compeitive products with China, without fears of a debt trap.

5) Increase aquaculture. It's their secret resource, the field they can finally fallow. It's not sufficient to just spear whales. We need a form of 'crop rotation.' Same goes with their idiot solar projects. This is the secret to clean energy.

6) Promote Hydroponics and urban agriculture. Tokyo is eating up a lot arable land.

7)Find a way to make all those darn mountains useful. Still trying to figure this one out.

8 ) Push creative tourism hard with the west. And decrease Chinese tourism. They have a history of being jack-wagons. Same goes with their students, they are easily weaponized by CCP, which can always go after their loved ones....

DOJ names New York City, Portland, Seattle 'anarchist jurisdictions' that could lose federal funding

Quote

"We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance. It is my hope that the cities identified by the Department of Justice today will reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens," Attorney General William Barr said in a statement.

*applauds Barr*

The sole goal of the federal government is to protect the people from foreign and domestic threats. Nothing more, nothing less. If funding goes to subvert that, it subverts it’s own purpose. Last DoJ we had was too busy getting innocent Mexicans killed via Fast & Furious to actually consider issues like this in Fergusson. Chicago, Detroit, and San Diego have had issues like these for years. It would be a remarkable incentive to add selectivity to federal funding. You cannot get money for X and Y, before you make positive progress in crime prevention, criminal reform, and local education. What’s the point helping with anything else if they fail in all these regards. Perhaps we should give vouchers to victims of these local governments to move to more promising places. We should have the moral bravery to not enable toxicity. If a city is too insolvent, let it dissolve. I see this problem in my own state with eastern Kentucky. We merely subsidize communities that are simply Geoeconomicly dead ends. Let’s help people find better horizons tans are willing. An interstate merit based “green-card” System if you will.  Federal government pays for your move, if the state chooses consents to take you. If they don’t, on the basis of any reason, the voucher is denied. But you have fifty plus shots. So there you go.

I agree; and a disturbing lack of accountabilty has enabled corrupt local governments

And speaking of accountability...

This guy is clearly trying to manipulate the outcome of a Presidential election. I could hear the ex-cons being told, "Democrat Bloomberg paid your fines and fees, now go vote for Biden." Mike Bloomberg needs to go to prison.

Bloomberg is desperately trying to protect his China ties. He makes too much money from China. He's just like the NBA.

Only reason he ran. He knew he would not go far. He wanted to just hope to gather as much influence as possible to split the vote unless they gave in to his demands. Most of these people on that debate stage a year ago were that way, except the man himself that was ironically a Marxist. And that is 1800’s backwards economic worldview no one really believes in but freshman college students that still have a bad case of parental codependent psychology going on - government is merely a substitute dream mommy and daddy.

Bloomberg could very get in a lot of trouble for this. And I highly doubt a lot of prisoners would actually vote for the guy. That’s issue about antisocial people, they are against social requests and demands. They will probably vote Trump if they somehow do indeed get the right to vote (and they don’t deserve that right anymore frankly, regardless who they vote for - particularly if they were violent).  All this did was muddy the waters for Florida’s voting legitimacy. Even if Biden wins Florida somehow (after stepping on every Cuban’s neck with his latest two racist gaffes and policies that frankly express a deep hate of Catholics), no one will see it as legit. Biden winning now is just so muddied by skeevy back room deals, that it would just lead to stalemate administration in a time we need a decisive continuation of current foreign policy towards creating peace in the Middle East and focusing on the pacific and the red dragon of China. I just lost a loved one to this virus, and I can tell you - it feels like you are a victim of war. Biden would let that slide, like he did for 50 years, and enabled it for the whole later half of his career.
