You could, but I really don't feel like having more accounts then necessary, and I am not really fond of how Microsoft is forcing people to have an account to use basic programs that previously didn't need an account to use.  Do you guys want me to start up a new account?

  6. Gremlin Sonic? New fan character I'd wager... I was never fond of the idea of a live-action Sonic movie, and the poster just confirms my fears. I also don't understand why they could not use one of Sonic's previous voice actors or even Smith to tie the character more to the games and expanded Sonic universe. I have not known a recent Sony movie to come out better than average, and I'll doubt Sony will show much love to the Sonic lore other than keep to a Modern Sonic storyline. I'd still say that the movie is gonna be a Sonic X rip-off without any of the pleasures the anime gave.
  7. Praise and gratitude rises with the sun, The day of thanksgiving has come. For many, blessings spring abundant as the harvest, Yet famine reigns through the hardships of some. How does the injured heart discover praise? How can the failure cause his head raise? Why should deficient health find strength in joy? Why may the loner seek thanks while in his void? Raise your eyes; open up your heart, Feeling the presence of life brings a start. The day still comes; virtues remain amongst pain, Second chances are laid; lessons be here and gained. Life soars over our mere lives, Yet the individual's soul has worth abide. None of us have all the solutions and none will, I choose, then, to see the small joys and thank my Maker still. Happy Thanksgiving, mates!
  8. First you should figure out if an Anti- or Evil Twin Sonic is even needed for the main story. As I recall, Evil Sonic made his debut in an early issue (back before they created a stable canon timeline), where Sonic accidentally runs too fast that he ends up in an opposite manifestation of Mobius. Messing with alternate realities can be a quagmire for a writer to wade through, so I would recommend most fan writers to not even consider messing with an alternate universe or other worlds unless they have already answered many necessary questions pertaining to the structure of the alternate reality and the impact it has on the main canon story. Evil Sonic is only appropiate if the alternate Mobius exists; otherwise, it's just an awkward evil twin story that's probably going to weigh the story down. You should then figure out if Evil Sonic should be similar to the Archie counterpart and become "Scourge"with his enhanced powers, or if Evil Sonic should have a more direct persona that counters Sonic's. Remember that Scourge did start off as basically an evil twin of Sonic that lives in an altered version of Mobius (a type where Robotnik is seen to be a vetinarian). Also realize that the writer should address why Anti-Sonic is an evil version of Sonic. Is it because the alternate reality affects him that he must be the contrast to regular Sonic, or does he actually choose to behave wickedly for his own pleasure? If Anti-Sonic isn't bound by the negative affects of the alternate reality, then I believe the main plot dealing with Anti-Sonic should be his moral conflict with the regular Sonic. Anti-Sonic would have the same persona and attributes as regular Sonic but he chooses to use them for his own selfish means. Basically, Anti-Sonic could bring tension to regular Sonic because he is what Sonic could choose to be and could always end up making choices that would mirror Anti-Sonic's and cause collateral damage to his friends and loved ones.
  9. Eh, not too well I'm afraid other than giving Tikal more public appearances. Knuckles is shown to be trained and built for guarding the Master Emerald and the other secrets of Angel Island with strength that rivals Sonic's speed. What does Tikal have? Um....a floating light orb and visions? If you were to give Tikal some abilities that were related to guarding and protecting a sacred powerful relic, then it may work but I still have my doubts on that one. Tikal works best as a mysterious figure trapped within the Master Emerald. I also don't see how she and Knuckles have similar personalities. Tikal appears to be more modest and humble but excited over danger (not exactly a good guardian trait) while Knuckles is firm and headstrong with a willingness to fight off any danger to the Master Emerald.
  10. Finally got Mania this week...past cool!

  11. Don't make the teams clones of each other. The biggest complaint I heard about Heroes was the annoyance of playing the same team 4 times in a row to receive the final ending. If you are going to offer 4 teams for people to play the game with, then make each team to be unique enough that playing with them offers an enjoyable experience instead of a tedious chore. Don't give each team a different mission if the mission is still basically reaching the goal coin at the end of the level. Chaotix had the most mix-up of the team missions, but even they often followed the same level and reach the goal formula instead of varying the level experience. From my own experience, Heroes needed to increase the uniqueness of the team members. I remember spending most of my time using the speed character about 85% of the gameplay and used the strong characters only to take out the robots the speed characters couldn't destroy and to line up the formation for collecting rings and gaining points. I hardly used the flying character as they were too weak in battle, had the lowest land speed, the worst character formation, and too little stamina to be useful. When you spend more then 3/4 of the game using only one character out of a team of 3, you really lose a lot of potential of fun gameplay. The characters' moveset also needed revived: Sonic relied too much on homing attack to attack enemies and had no good way to increase speed. Sonic should have retained his spindash and it's gimmicks from the 2d era to give Sonic more variety to his speed gameplay and combat prowess. Knuckles was handicapped into a brawler: it was cool being able to wipe out a bunch of robots with your punches, but Knuckles sacrificed his gliding and climbing abilities that gave him an edge for discovering hidden areas and objects. Poor Tails was just an annoying tag-along: his flight was nerfed height-wise and he had no real ground movements other than throwing out dummy rings. If this much work has to be done with the main team, don't get me started with the other 3... I will give credit with Heroes having some interesting levels compared to the modern gaming era, but one problem was the layout of the level. I don't know how many times I wanted to explore a certain path in the level only to realize that I couldn't get there due to the limitations of the characters' abilities. It's one thing in the boost games to not have exploration as the levels are designed more to support the boost gameplay; it's another when the level layout of Heroes appears to be explorable but tricks you into having to take one linear path. The robot gates were very annoying and seemed to be a precursor to the werehog battles in Unleashed and the boss fights were too repetative with the same gimmick other than the Egg Emperor. Also, way too many rails in this game. It's easier to use the rails compared to Adventure 2, but the rails' controls are still tricky enough for a beginner player to be frustrated with levels like Rail Canyon where a mishap will cost you your life. Giving the robot enemies a health bar is a plus as it meant you either had to level up your character to deal more damage or change your strategy for different enemies. What was annoying with the level up system was that your characters are too weak in fighting enemies. When Sonic only deals 1 hit damage to a normal egg pawn, it becomes frustrating that you need to level him up just to destroy the most basic enemy of the game with one hit. The flying characters are even worse; they hardly deal any damage to enemies other than shocking them with thunder shoot. I would level the enemies out better so that the most basic enemies don't need a character level up to be easily defeated while still retaining the elite mooks for later in the game. The hit points mechanic was also annoying with the boss battles as it would seem to take dozens of hit even from the strong characters to defeat the bosses. I tend to only use the strong characters to fight the bosses just to make the battle go faster. Finally, a petpeeve of mine, stop making the characters say stupid things when performing any minor actions. We don't need to hear the characters refer to the 4th wall anytime you accomplish a special move (makes me think this game was aimed for 4-6 year olds). Use voice acting only when appropiate in the gameplay.
  12. If 2d Classic Sonic was given the storyline/plot of Forces, I honestly could see Sega hinting more to characters and franchises seen in the Classic Sonic era. We already seen Fang, Bean, an Bark being cameoed in Mania, so I would assume they would be back as full characters for Sonic to interact with. I could see Robotnik having references more to Satam and Archie Robotnik as they center around him conquering Sonic's world, and I wouldn't doubt if one of Robotniks' croonies from the older shows (Scratch and Grounder or Snively) made cameo appearances to fill in Eggman's current two bumbling robots. I am not sure if Sega would hint at the FF, though, seeing how Sega doesn't like to tie in to the older Sega of America characters. If the FF did make an appearance, however, I could see Sega taking the risk of making them the extra playable characters that would replace the fan-made character seen in the modern Forces game and with them an element of gameplay change. Sonic (and the FF if Sega dared to take that risk) would have similar gameplays that the characters in Sonic 3 have (fast running speed, spin jump, spindash), but like Sonic 3, the characters would have different gimmicks that would allow them to interact with the environment differently and either find hidden goodies, complete specific missions, or discover secret pathways. If this was the case, then the wisp gimmick would be thrown out of the game (wisps and classic Sonic don't go hand to hand). I could also see 2d Sonic finally having a scripted story instead of non-narrative cutscenes in the older titles, and the scripts would probably play more with either the American characteristic of Sonic or his more quiet self seen in Sonic CD. Modern Sonic and Mania? I don't think I would see much of a difference with this and any other boost game. I doubt Sega would take the risk of trying a new formula like Lost World or Boom at this point, so the game would probably be similar to Sonic Colors in game mechanics. They would probably keep to the same story outline seen in the 2d Sonic game, but I have a feeling they would use scripted cutscenes which means all the characters would behave as their modern appearances. This means that poor Knuckles would be back to a bumbling idiot instead of the island smart hero we see in the 2d game. I also could see Sega only making Sonic as the playable character to focus again on the boost mechanic meaning Tails and Knuckles are back to be supporting characters. Modern characters would also probably have some cameos to replace Fang, Bean, and Bark (most likely Shadow, Blaze, or Silver...maybe even Big). In summary, a 3d Sonic Mania would probably be similar to Sonic Colors in gameplay and plot, so the game probably wouldn't be as big of a deal as the 2d Mania has proven to be.
  13. I don't think boose would have worked with Lost World's freer gameplay. You can tell that the game wasn't meant for the full-blown speed from the other boost games. That said, if the game focused on the boost mechanic, I don't think the game would have made much of an impact after the success of Generations. The boost mechanic was at its climax at Generations: Unleashed and Colors were able to get away with the mechanic because of its "coolness" of being able to boost through huge levels like a race track and revive the speed factor missing in other 3d Sonic games. 3rd times the charm with Generations, but since then I see the boost mechanic becoming a boring gimmick to even fans of the Boost genre. It has been around long enough for the cool factor to phase out with nothing new to add or solving any of the other problems in the 3d series (exploration). Since Lost World picks up after Generations, I think the game may have a better gameplay factor, but there would be nothing new to offer. Sega would be rehashing the whole boost formula again in a different environment. I doubt Lost Worlds would have been remembered as much as it is now for its controversial gameplay, and I doubt it would have affected Sonic Forces. Sonic Forces was taking the positive feedback from Generations and trying too much to please too many various fans with a product that has less to offer. I never played Forces, but from what I have seen in reviews, I guess the game was a big disappointment for all the hype placed into it.
  14. Not bad with your drawings (especially Robutnik).
  15. Exactly, and that is the problem of adhering to fan service. Nothing wrong with listening to fans about some areas as long as it doesn't ruin the story's quality. Plunging a bunch of Sega game characters into the Satam world would hurt the Satam story more than help it. It's best to find which game characters can fit with the Satam story and gradually introduce them to the FF. Shadow was a character made specifiaclly for the Sega of Japan chapter in Sonic history, and his folklore works better with the Japanese influence on the Sonic franchise. Bringing Shadow into Satam would probably mean a lot of compromise for the Satam world and characters, and, since he is the number 2 character of the Sonic franchise to younger fans, his appearance would probably be heavily focused on while most of the main characters like Bunnie and Rotor would be put behind the scenes. As mysterious as Shadow is, I would rather be interested in seeing more of the other FF (even Dulcy) getting character development as they are the original cast of Satam.
  16. It's been a while...interesting ideas. The whole idea of GUN just seems to be out of place in the Satam universe. I guess GUN is in the Archie comics, but GUN existed solely for Shadow's story in Sonic Adventure 2 and from what we saw in the game, GUN is a human based government operation that reminds me too much of modern government agencies. I guess Rouge is an exception to the human rule with GUN, but other than that there isn't much to GUN that would make it blend well with the Satam scene. Satam features a mostly Mobian population with only two humans (maybe 3 if counting Lazaar), so where does the big human-majority government agency like GUN fit? You can make it work, but you would have to expand the Satam universe to reflect more of the Modern gaming Sonic universe and the more you do so, the less unique Mobius becomes. Shadow is pretty much tied to GUNS in the games, and I don't think his character would do Satam any good other than adding a controversial fan character into the baggage.
  17. Snowball fight, anyone?

  18. Since there wasn't a lot of input on the last question, I will answer both... Probably how it would be like for any group of refugees in constant hiding from a powerful foe. The Knothole residents live basically in a hidden village undetected by Robotnik's survellience, so they do have the chance to try to live comfortably while always being on the alert for a possible attack. From what we see in Satam and a little in the older comics, Knothole seems to operate like any other settlement: residents live in comfortable huts, eat various dishes beyond that of bare minimum scraps, accomplish various tasks to maintain Knothole, and abide by Mobian laws that still preside them under the Acorn lineage. Knothole, compared to other freedom groups, is alive and thriving (by Super Sonic, Knothole finally was able to run on electricity compliments of the water wheel), so the residents probably do spend their time building and maintaining Knothole and keeping their spirits up with various forms of activities and entertainment. Being in a state of constant peril, however, the residents would still be on constant watch for Robotnik and probably partake in drills or training to be able to respond to the likely scenario of Knothole being discovered. 1. The swatbots are formidable enough for most of the Mobians to face (far more effective than Robotniks' other robot cronnies in other media), so I could see Robotnik upgrading swatbot's armor and weaponry. I could see Robotnik using more advanced designs of badniks to scout the Great Forest to locate Knothole (and seeing the various badniks found in the early Genesis games, we don't need much imagination some of these robots could be very effective in ambushing wandering Mobians). I don't see this version of Robotnik just creating various robots without a purpose; he uses what is cheap but effective. Any new robot he does create would have to be for a certain mission (scouting/spying/destruction). 2. I am not sure what the original plans for Naugus is, but I could see him having a different mission that counters Robotnik's world domination. His flashback reveals him wanting to explore the void for an unknown cause, but his episode displays that the void has given him a wide arrangement of magical power. Perhaps Naugus is interested in gaining more knowledge and magic to become a more powerful sorceror but to what purpose? Naugus did not view Sonic as an enemy and even freed him to save his friends from the void, so Naugus doesn't appear to view Sonic as an enemy that could stop his plans. I am curious as to what species Naugus is supposed to be...seeing there is nothing like him in the show (though I believe he does have a brother in the comics); perhaps his goal is tied to the legacy or lore of his species? Either way, Naugus' individual quest for power would put him in conflict with anyone who comes between him and that power: Robotnik, Snively, Sonic... 3. They may have tried that already and realized that Robotnik is too smart for that possible scenario. The FF have been able to gain information from defeated swatbots, but Satam never showed them being able to reprogram the swatbots to change alliegence. In Blast to the Past, Robotnik is shown locking the swatbot's commands to his voice alone (cutting off even his nephew from having a chance to command them); this could explain why the swatbots couldn't be reprogrammed to attack Robotnik. As for the robotic version of Sal that Rotor reprogrammed, note that the robot isn't part of Robotnik's swatbot force; it was a secret project Robotnik and Snively worked on to infiltrate Knothole. Since the robot isn't connected to the same programming as the swatbots, it probably wasn't given a safeguard to prevent reprogramming (much to Robotnik's dismay at the end of the episode). Most likely this is just a one time occurance for Robotnik; seeing how the robot was turned against him, Robotnik probably took careful measures in new projects to prevent possible FF reprogramming. 4. Not sure what these robots are, so no say. 5. I don't see GUN being part of the Satam universe, so my answer would be no.
  19. Aye, the series had it's own jungle/peril world that was pretty diverse with creatures and terrain.
  20. Don't know if anybody remembers this cartoon but back in the 90s there was an animated series bases on the movie Jumanji where the story takes place inside of the game. I would personally like to visit that world and just explore, survive, and have a wonderful adventure.

  22. The guy has teleknosis powers and doesn't have the same speed as Sonic. This alone should show that Silver should not just be considered a Sonic clone/rival as Shadow is. The problem with Silver from the 06 game is that he was doing all in his power to prevent the Iblis trigger from happening to prevent the bad future. So, if that future has been thwarted, what is left? What is his role in the future? Why was he and Blaze destined to fight Iblis? How did he and Blaze get his powers?
  23. Leave him alone, or work more with his character development. He's a creature created to be the ultimate lifeform with no relations and no purpose other than being used: that's got to tax on a guy.
