  1. While I get that certain fans' feelings on the new characters after the reboot are mixed, I would like to see ideas on how they could be handled if they were introduced into the pre-reboot continuity. What could be done differently with them? Would they have different lives and backstories? Well, I have a few ideas that I hope will get the creative juices for this concept flowing! ---- Axel the Water Buffalo & Thunderbolt the Chinchilla: Born in Efrika, these two grew up in an environment where their village was regularly harassed by the local gangs. The duo soon decided that enough as enough and took a stand. They eventually formed their own crew and began taking out other gangs and making a reputation for themselves as one of the most feared gangs in Efrika, with their main rivals being the Bear Pack and Nasty Hyenas. When Diesel united both gangs to become the Efrika Dark Egg Legion, Axel and Thunderbolt proceeded to rally the remaining gangs to oppose the Mad Doctor. They were now the Storm Breakers. ---- Wendy and the Witchcarters: In the old days of the Forgotten War, Wendy was a highly respected member or Order of Ixis, to the point where Mogul chose her as a member of his Four Elite. While she was on the front lines during the war, things took a drastic turn when both sides were menaced by none other than the second incarnation of Enerjak, whose power and uncontrollable nature were so threatening to the point where both sides we're forced to agree to a temporary-yet uneasy-truce t defeat the common enemy, one that Wendy strongly objected to. While they were eventually victorious over Enerjak, Wendy immediately attempted to strike down one of the Knights, only to be critically wounded. With the Order of Ixis losing more and more members, Wendy was forced to go into hiding and put herself into a special Crystal stasis, awaiting the day she could not only fully heal herself, but restore the order of it to its former glory... Many years later, the last remaining follower of the Order; Naugus was on the run after being dethroned. He would attempt to hide out in one of the ruins of an old Ixis Temple, and stumble across her Crypt... Soon it was revealed that right before she sealed herself away in Crystal, Wendy called for at least three members of the order and placed a special "contract link" on each of them. She then told them to drop off the grid and live in obscurity, passing down the contract link through their descendants until the time came for her to awaken. As such, when she finally awoke thanks to Naugus, the contact the link immediately activated, calling forth their most recent descendants to serve her: Carrotia the Rabbit, Falke Wulf, and Bearenger the Grizzly The Ixis Triad. ---- So! What do you think? Any ideas you think might fit in the old continuity?
  2. Welcome one and all to the topic all about another blue video game protagonist, rather then The Blue Blur, in here we'll talk about The Blue Bomber, The Super Fighting Robot, Megaman! But which one? Well...all of them! From any multimedia or series, anything Megaman Official or Fan Made should go here, keeps things uncluttered though I can see this topic getting a little confusing, but regardless you stepped in knowing that this is Megaman, you knew where this was going. Unlike Sega, Capcom embraced different takes on Megaman hence why we have so many different series and interpretations, such as the Megaman Megamix/Gigamix Mangas, or Megaman X, or Megaman Zero, or Legends...I should stop because it'll never end if I do. Either way this topic is a free form one, share your favorite stories about the Megaman series! Any theories or complains you have? Reconstruct the series too! Other then going Maverick almost anything goes! Just keep in mind the general forum rules and it's all good. I will say this though, this topic will be Spoiler Heavy so if you want to check out something from the series first or have been meaning to play Legends, now's the time to do so, with that said... READY *Blip*
  3. Reboots get a bad rep, in my opinion. There can be a lot that can be done with them, and they can revive old franchises like Batman. But I'd be wrong if I said there weren't any chancer execs who see reboots as easy money, using the goodwill and nostalgia of the audience for a quick and positively filthy buck. Robocop, Planet of the Apes, Nightmare on Elm Street...maybe Ghostbusters (not passing any real judgement until I actually see it), a number old franchises just die because of these lazy cashgrabs. But there ARE good reboots out there, like Splatterhouse, Ratchet and Clank and that 2012 Dredd film, so I do think they're still viable if actual care is put into them. And frankly, there's one part of Sonic's quote-unquote "empire" that desperately needs one. And I'm not talking about that soft reboot either, the one that resulted from Ken Penders being...well, Ken Penders; that solved pretty much nothing and has only gotten worse with people like Ian "Blaze Can't Carry a Story but Amy Totally Can" Flynn at the wheel. And if this SECOND lawsuit over royalties goes the same way (that is, resetting the universe to remove such characters), then the only logical thing SEGA could do is to admit they stuffed it, totally reboot the comics, fire Flynn and give the new writer a touch more creative freedom (though they won't, because they're SEGA). No Sally, no Mammoth Mogul, no whatever that stupid warlock character is supposed to be, no God-Mode Eggman and no Freedom Fighters (well, not at the beginning), going back to the main cast and introducing new characters and stories from there. I've made my own idea of what an Archie Comic reboot would look like, at least for the main cast. I was actually planning to use them for something else, but I want to show off the designs now since it'll be a while before I put them into any real action; I even have bios for them...but I want to keep this vaguely short so I'll provide them when asked. Of course you know I tend to dislike Sonic things that focus PURELY on Sonic (because he's not an interesting character), so other characters would be introduced down the line (like an expy of Shade, albeit as a villain). I made bios for them as well, if I remember correctly. So what I'm asking is; How would you reboot the Archie comics? What new villains and characters would you introduce?
