  1. I wanna scream I told you so to so many people right now, because I honestly thought this is exactly what was happening. Now here's hoping they're starting from square one, sega does NOT get too demanding, and IDW doesn't mess it up by trying to be something it's either not or shouldn't want to be.

I'm both excited and terrified from the anticipation!

  2. Aside from the fact I called it, this was pretty much inevitable. The saddest part is that they're unlikely to use any of the satam cast or post/pre reboot characters ever again (no more FF, no more decent eggbosses, etc) , while also being the greatest and most satisfying part as the worst ideas, writing, storytelling and shoddy world building post reboot are purged for good (meaning stupid choices like Wendy NAUGUS witchcart and BBA: eggmooks incorporated are undone, which allows for both to be returned to their former status of legitimate individual villains with their own individual goals). In short: I'm ok with this.

    2) Robecca. Why Roter? Just why would you want that as your lab-assistant?

well I have a few thoughts on that one; perhaps he simply wanted to see if there was a way to re use robotniks swatbots after they win, create a form of saboteur or infiltrator that won't be targeted as its technically a machine leaving the freedom fighters more available to defend and place themselves out of harms way, or lastly it was for the same reason as why eggman made orbot and cubot.

I also have one related to a quest in fallout new vegas, but thats a little too nsfw even for a joke.

The first post sums up the vast majority of my gripes with fallout 4, but to add to that: power armor was a mech suit which is an example of the over complication of equipment, far harbor felt more like it was the main game, nuka world was the most utterly wasted potential of any place I've ever seen in A game period, and the base building which should have not been focused on for the main game and rather released with the workshop DLC only removed potentially interesting towns that could have been. Also that ghoul re-design looked like it was ripped straight from bethesdas other game rage and the artistic style of the previous games was replaced with the most cookie cutter plastic looking and surreally clean one-asset-fits-all designs, with Half the buildings still looking as though they were pre war.

Sadly the honeymoon period hasn't worn off and most fans are singing high praise for a minimalistic game riddled with inconsistency and lazy storytelling, in summary making this picture all too real:

Whew, meant to post my thoughts on this a while ago, but I totally forgot and when I came across that post, realized my original statement/review was a jumbled mess of saying "it bad, it very bad."

Anything new @F07E you would like to share?

    well there was this:

dunno why but I was thinking of crossover's (namely series that could manage to do it without really damaging the original settings while also being franchises I personally like), wasn't too happy with how this one ended up though, angles and scaling felt off too me.

Wouldnt the vocal minority be the ones who want the FF to return to their SatAM forms?

I meant In the sense that sega only listen to people talk about the dark stuff that made the show interesting, and forget that the show also had its lighthearted moments as well that offset the darker tones and emphasized the characters interactions, and wildly miss how and why the show was so good in the first place. Sega has wildly missed the point plenty of times back in the day starting from adventure onwards, and then overshoot on trying to regain the favor of fans. (and if it comes down to satam vs archie, I know they'll go most recent even though they're not the same series and satam had better characterization all around.)

"Hero like action of Sonic and the resistance members?"

Hmmm...You don't think they would add the FF in do you?

That's one of the intriguing parts, and also the worrying ones as how will they be portrayed, which iteration will they use and what design will mark their first appearance if so. This IS sega after all, and the bare minimum of research and vocal minorities tend to force them to do pretty dumb things.

So here's some new info from a Famitsu article a few days ago.

    • The third character in Forces will be an “unexpected character”. Sonic Boom Sonic is NOT in the game. However, the third character “plays an important role in the story, and embodies the overall features of the game”.
    • “The boost system from Sonic Unleashed is present, as well as stages based on reaching the goal and clearing them a certain time limit also seem to be present.”
    • “Classic Sonic stages are based on side scrolling 2D action.” Apparently, they will also have a twist.
    • Sonic Forces will be at E3 this year. We are told that E3 will be where the third character will be revealed.
    • Sonic Forces’ story summary from the magazine: “Dr. Eggman took over 99% of the world. Sonic and the “Resistance” members are fighting. Then another Sonic appears…” It then talks about Classic Sonic appearing, Classic and Modern being two different style, and then there being a third one. The reason why Eggman takes over so much of the world is because of “a new power” that his obtains, resulting in his army controlling that much of the world. However, this power is also what makes Classic Sonic appear.
    • Morio Kishimoto is the director of Sonic Forces. He designed Secret Rings and Black Knight. He also directed Sonic Lost World and the Wii version of Sonic Colors.
    • Sonic Forces has been in development since 2013, and started around Sonic Lost World’s release.
    • “Forces was chosen as a subtitle from it meaning “power” and “army”. Two strong forces (Sonic and co vs. Eggman) are facing off in the game.”
    • “This time, Sonic is fighting an Eggman who has nearly taken over the world.”
    • 2017, with the release of Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania, is a “continuation” of Sonic’s 25th anniversary.
    • The game won’t be all dark and gloomy. There are some lighter stages in Forces.
    • Sonic Mania’s development began in 2015. Sonic Team wanted to do a new 2D Sonic game and “not a remake”. (Context compared to Forces)

interesting points they got, but im concerned about morio kishamoto being the director. i wasn't a particular fan of the games he's worked on, as they felt more like spinoff's and expiriments than anything else, but its also because it feels like their more or less sega's development B-team. aside from that i'm interested to see how its launch goes.

I'm unsurprised that nintendo's awful sales practices killed it, I mean i had little desire for it in the first place cause it was the most unnobtainable pong console of all time, and I'm not really huge nintendo fan to begin with either, but its a shame to see this happen for those who wanted it.

  10. Already people are spamming the idea that the silhouette looks like this poor fella:

    Bubsy01.jpg.1a4e5607681b4a775ba5dcd646afe7b1.jpg

Personally however, thanks to the colour corrected image wulfsbane posted, I think they look more like this:

    Gaomon_b.jpg.22d19d326192a5700e0635617487408c.jpg

So in short: new character is more floofy doge with headband.

  11. sega of japan is like nintendo of japan, they spend their merry little days cooped up in an office of yes men telling them what they wanna hear, and not what is actually happening. except sega throughout the course of the 2000's was so spat upon and dragged through the mud that it seems they are more receptive (if not TOO receptive at times) to critical feedback, and afraid of destroying the last little bit of their fans they still have after 2013, which is why things like the rom hacking scene has been left alone for the most part, if not downright plucked from to make new installments.

  12. I'm kinda hoping they end it at issue 300 or so, and make another sonic comic series not so bogged down by mismanagement.

(though crazy theory here: maybe the hiatus is thanks to sega wanting to procure/ensure the rights to the egg bosses from the comic are theirs to use for forces, without starting another pendersgate. if so I pray they don't use witchcart and the battlekukku armada, I still hate their utilization and retcons in the comic.)

What a run for a console so many counted out; outlasted the Wii, the 360, and the WiiU.

that's sony for you, the longevity of their consoles is absolutely absurd. the PS2 had games being made as late as 2014, and the PS1 was at least until 2005. keep in mind they were released in both 2000 and 1994, respectively.

  14. In other news; I'm now made of seasalt.

    seriously, this:

    58cb5ed23dffc_EverybodyHatesCream.png.d6006cac742fad6999ecdbe00712f1ba.png

is almost becoming a meme at this point.

(I'm actually still looking forward to this game, as like mania it's sounding more interesting every time I hear about it. am I dissapointed that shadows taking precedence over the actual fifth main? of course I am, but it's not going to ruin my opinion of the actual GAME if it is at its core an enjoyable experience.)

  15. first things first: "CURSE YOU CHRISTIAN WHITEHEEEEEEAAAAAADDDDDD!!!"

with that bad joke outta the way, I'm still on the wall about it. on one hand they seem to be keeping what people like and demanded out of the past experiences alongside what works game-play wise, on the other it sounds like they're over-relying on classic stages again, and that its like they don't want to really rock the boat even a little by allowing there to be more than what's perceived as 'classic'. I won't know more until the game's out (unless it already is and I missed it) but as it stands, I think its gonna do better than sonic 2k17.

and I'm STILL mad that there's no playable classic Amy or Cream, all the Amy in mods and pink edition proved that they're fun to play as!!!
