Sonic Forces is the type of Sonic game that appeals to the Japanese audience. And they're eating it up so far.

Therefore, they're gonna market quite heavily to them.

Ehhh... They have their pros and cons.

Still, SEGA has been allowing a fair few fans to get their shot at the Sonic franchise lately, so it's only a matter of time before Ian writes for a game.

Maybe it took Archie Sonic's cancellation for Sonic Team to go "oh shit, people actually like ian." Now he's back with IDW Sonic, and he's doing Sonic Forces work with SEGA.

If Ian was a part of the localisation team all along, I'd be very happy. But he's probably not, considering how late it is now.

I hope they'll have him localise in a future game. Or have him write. We already know he can write leagues better than the Pontaff duo.

There's also a brand new four-part tie-in comic for Sonic Forces, with art by Adam Bryce Thomas and script by Ian Flynn! Here's the first part: MOMENT OF TRUTH.

Plus, someone found some secrets in the PDF of the comic, hidden in back layers... HUGE SPOILERS!

I'll just remain mildly optimistic. This could take Sonic in a refreshing direction. Don't know what of the FFs, but them not being in won't be a dealbreaker. But the Egg Bosses, please please please!

And more content from the games to be used? Y'all know that means Eggman Nega, Honey the Cat, Team Hooligan, Mephiles, Hard-Boiled Heavies, Shade, Mighty and Ray, etc etc, and more can be used?

Seriously, so much work and love has gone into it, and it shows! The project that's died and revived time and time again, and it's revived once again (under a different team, as the previous team because PagodaWest Games. Familiar name?), and looks like it's here to stay!

My only complaint is the physics feel a little... Heavy and sluggish at times, most notably when you jump. I'm sure that can be fixed before it's official release. I did notice some slowdowns, especially at the transition between Act 1 and 2 of Chemical Plant Zone, but nothing major outside that.

Now, time to check out some other games. But this one is the star of the show, no doubt about it.

Fun fact: my Chronicles remix was actually made as a proof of concept for a fan project which aims to remaster and rebuild Chronicles from the ground up. They already had someone on the music, so I couldn't get in, but I'll still follow the project.

I do hope to have some original tracks soon, as I've got a few ideas
