I really hope the second actually realizes the potential of a story that involves these various video game characters much like Marvel characters in an Avengers movie. But the internet theme could really muddle things further, going for breadth rather than depth

You know what comes to mind concerning the plot to the second movie? Disney's Emoji Movie.

  2. Ooooohh yes. The whole Patch Culture thing means that Publishers are getting a little complacent about actually releasing finished games. Why need to, when they can just patch it up later?

For specifics, I think the most infamous is Tony Hawks Pro Skater 5. A game so rushed, so horrible, so uselessly unfinished, that the game isn't even on the disk. The disk only contains the tutorial, and the rest has to be added in via a massive "update patch". So if you don't have Internet, or the servers go down, you basically have a £50 Triple-A game with at best 10 minutes of content. Also the game sucks and you crash all the time AND IT crashes all the time.

  3. Like I said, I was expecting SEGA to do so; as in, not allow the Archie characters into the new comic. It's just what they do. Granted some like Elise make sense as to why they won't reappear, same with Lyric and Boom Sonic for some. But most of the time, should a character displease them, they WILL bury them and pretend they ever existed. Take Shade, for example.  Penders does not own her, they could use her if they wanted to. But because Penders kicked up such a stink about it, SEGA doesn't want to use her again. Why reuse characters people kind of like when you could just parade Classic Sonic into the spotlight? Again?

As for the Freedom Fighters and Archie characters in general...well, they were collectively part of a massive lawsuit that rebooted and ultimately destroyed something so long-running. It was a disastrous and slow death. I think it's clear that SEGA didn't really care all that much about the FF when they WERE a thing and now that their main adventures are dead they want nothing to do with them anymore. They either want to start again or just make the IDW stuff a comic version of the video games. Which, frankly, is the dumbest thing they could do. So, of course, they'll do it!

As for the future of the FF, well, Archie Sonic Online is a thing and we on the Free Scribes of Mobius can surely find a home for them in our own works. I personally don't care much for them as I 'm more for creating stories with my own characters, but I know plenty of people on this site who would give them a new life here.

The Grinch does not steal presents anymore Perry. Instead he puts a lock on each one and asks you to buy a key to open them individually. :P

Don't give them any ideas, Jordan.

It will just be released as a cheap or free dlc in a few updates.

Alex, you're sort of missing the point somewhat. Super Sonic, a staple feature since 1992, is now paid DLC, hiding a staple character behind a paywall. I wonder what OTHER games have done that recently...

  5. It only took about a month after the game came out. Granted, I'm not complaining that much, I mean Activision still hasn't released a full version of that Space Oddity cover they put in the Infinite Warfare trailer.

I must admit...I'm not that taken by it. I don't Inny has grown on me as much as I'd like.

  6. If it's the title, Shadows Die Twice is an intriguing title to me. A bit like No Man's Sky, where the title is near gibberish and yet...it sounds so meaningful. Kind of sounds like a title I'd use.

I'm not really impressed with the teaser, though. It looks like a bone, from what I can see. In fact, all of the teasers from that show were a bit weak.

  7. Iiiiiiii looooooooove this fiiiiiillllllm. I like how maturely and seriously it handles the concept of a world full of anthro animals. It's not some kiddy playground full of kiddy people doing stupid kiddy things (COUGHsonicCOUGH), its a living, breathing world. Also that scene on the train in the beginning was just perfect and I LOVE THIS FILM OKAY?

If you could replace or add any classic stages with others in Sonic Mania what would they be and why?

    1. Replace Green Hill with Emerald Hill Zone. Still an Opening Stage, can still have the Wrecking Balls as a boss, even the Death Egg Robot but for the love of Chaos just not Green Hil Zone again.
    2. Replace Lava Reef with something a bit more meta; Wave Ocean. Stardust Speedway already references Wave Ocean's music in its own remix, so it's not like the Mythology Gags were purely from the Classic era. Rather than just go back in time, why not show Mania!Sonic the future that, if you believe the theory that Generations caused a split in the timelines so that Classic Sonic will no longer become Modern Sonic, he will likely never see?

If you made Shadow a different animal that isn't a Hedgehog what would it be, why, and how would that change things in the series?

A Jackal. They are more mythological creatures; they are "often depicted as clever sorcerers in the myths and legends of their regions", so having one infused with the DNA of an alien race that may as well be a myth to Earth, it would make a bit more sense. It would require a rewrite of Sonic Adventure 2's opening, perhaps Terios (the beta design) was a backup plan to Shadow and stole the Chaos Emerald, so it'd be a bit easier to swallow that GUN think it's Sonic. Also, when a certain Infinity-loving edgelord comes around, perhaps their interactions could be a touch more poignant.

  9. Sonic Forces: Speed Battle. It's...okay.

Bit weird, though. The characters you play as are seemingly Phantom Ruby illusions - they appear in a swarm of red cubes and vanish in a swarm of red cubes at the end of the race. Perhaps Infinite and Eggman made them collect the lost prototypes and...got bored?
