Long read, but worth it. Basically, it's the history of the Amtrak dining car and the possibility of its return to the two lines from which it was removed

Heh, I'd forgotten about that 😳

I'd never heard of Vanilla Ninja before; thanks for sharing. I think "Tough Enough" is my favorite.

You do probably want to take a step back and use metallic paints instead though.
*shrugs* Just using what I have. I don't have much of the metallic paints; definitely don't have any in metallic silver. Still have plenty of glitter paint tho. But, yeah, there -is- such a thing as too much glitter
I might do another one of Bunnie & just stick with using flat grays; I kinda liked how that one was going before I glitter-bombed it.

Superman colorist quits over comic's embrace of wokness [Fox News]
QuoteA colorist involved in creating the Superman comic says he is quitting his position in response to the "wokeness" that has permeated the franchise.
"I’m finishing out my contract with DC. I’m tired of this s***, I’m tired of them ruining these characters; they don’t have a right to do this," Superman: Son of Kal-El colorist Gabe Eltaeb said during a recent podcast, according to Bounding Into Comics.

{Edit: There's was a small Amtrak station in Fulton, KY; it's about an hour's drive from where I am. I don't know if it's still in opperation or if they still have thruway services to get peolpe to it. I've never been on an Amtrak train tho', just a few short rides on smaller railways. Fun way to travel }

I said I was gonna install Fallout & Fallout 2 on a Win10 system...and I did it.
I selected "humongous" installation for both (so I wouldn't need the CDs to run the games) & was rather surprised that they didn't require any tweaking in order to run properly. (Games that use old versions of Direct X can be wonky )
Anybody know of a good & easy way to record gameplay within Win10? I'm tempted to do a Fallout speedrun {Edit: OBS seems to be up to the task; I just need to learn how to use it properly }

The thing is, they're actually doing the right thing, in which they made a new character to do something like this instead of taking an already established character and going for it because representation.
Good point.

I agree; definitely feels forced.
{Edit: Here is what Dean Cain (who played Superman on TV for years) had to say about it - 'Woke' Superman's Mission Is Neither Bold Nor Brave
QuoteI say they’re jumping on the bandwagon, but they’re fighting the wrong issues. There is a clear agenda here. It’s globalist, it’s anti-America, but it’s not bold and it’s not brave.

This disgusts me...I want nothing to do with a "woke" Superman >.<
New Superman revealed to be bisexual, global activist in DC Comics [NY Post]
QuoteContinuing a recent trend of comic book characters coming out as LGBTQ, Superman is now confirmed to be bisexual and on the fight for global social issues, according to the DC team behind the character, who spoke to IGN.
This news is not for the traditional iteration of Clark Kent, but instead his 17-year-old son, Jon, who has taken up his father’s mantle.

I know there's a small subsection of the Fallout fandom who hates everything Fallout since Bethesda took over.
Yeah, well, haters gonna hate no matter what
I still have Fallout 1 & 2 (by Interplay, for Windows 95 ); might be fun to see if I can get them to run in Win10 in XP mode. Fallout 1 had a nice exploit that's great for speed runs

Fallout 1 Is Getting a Remake
QuoteRecently a new project has begun attempting to recreate Fallout 1 in the engine of Fallout 4. In this video we take an in depth look at the ambitious Fallout Vault 13, but I also gives updates on the Fallout 2, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas
Here's an old fan project that never came to fruition...
From NewFallout.com:
QuoteThis remake is not by Bethesda, but by some dedicated fans who are creating a New Vegas MOD to allow us to experience the classics in 3D. An admirable effort if you ask me, even though they are working very slow and they might never finish the project, which would be a shame.

I lurked over his forums for years before it got closed down
I was there the whole time
I thought I had archived that thread about Endgame in my Storeroom, but I haven't found it yet.
I did find this tho' (from the "Archie V.s SatAM" thread):
QuoteI Always Loved The SatAM Version, But...
Posted by Ken PendersThe one thing just about everyone keeps forgetting is that when the comic first
came out, the early issues were basically a cross between the daily Adventures of
Sonic syndicated series and the ABC-TV SatAM series. Or rather, it was the SatAM
characters featured in stories you'd find in the daily series. Whatever, it was an odd
duck when you think of it, but somehow it worked, at least at first.I came aboard with #11, and it wasn't long before I became the driving force to push
the comic book into closer alignment with the SatAM series. Once I discovered the
show, around the time we were working on stories for issue #16, I felt that was the
direction we should be going in with the comic series, a decision which both the
editors at Archie and the heads of licensing at Sega concurred with. (In fact, it was
this very decision which prompted Sega to test the waters with Princess Sally. Our
mini-series was a trial run for a possible game and even a cartoon series.)We basically stayed true to our ties with the SatAM series up until we received word
it was cancelled. At that point, I was informed by then-editor Scott Fulop that if
history was any indication, then Archie's SONIC series was probably a goner within
eight months.Figuring I had nothing to lose, I suggested we take the comics beyond the SatAM
series, that we give readers a reason to come back month after month, instead of
running in place essentially going nowhere. Since issue #50 seemed so far off at
that time, I wrote up an outline suggesting how the series should proceed,
culminating with Endgame, the final battle between Sonic and Robotnik. I did this
for two reasons, the most important of which was hopefully to convince the
publishers to keep the book going until at least that issue, upon which we could at
least wrap up all the storylines. The other reason was that if we did keep publishing
by some miracle, this would allow us to recast the series into something that wasn't
tied to any particular vision but our own. We dared to think long-term at times, and
we realized that evolution would be much better than maintaining the status quo.People can argue all they want, but the fact is we're still around, much longer than
anyone ever expected us to last, while who knows how many series have been
launched and cancelled by numerous publishers in the meantime. One final thought: at this point, if there were to be another Sonic animated series --
or animated film -- chances are it still would be different from the SatAM in a number
of ways, and probably more closely aligned with the Sonic Adventure games. Most
likely Amy Rose would be a featured character, whereas Princess Sally might not
be.{Edit: It is very possible it was something from one of the on-line chats he used to hold. I don't have any of those in the Storeroom; I'd have to go thru my old personal archives for those.

GoldenEye 007: Cancelled Remaster Files Have Leaked [IGN]
QuoteThe game files for Rare’s cancelled GoldenEye 007 Remaster have been shared onto the internet.
The remaster, originally planned for release on Xbox 360 via XBLA but eventually cancelled due to a rights issue, was brought to everyone’s attention once again last month via a video showing a full playthrough. But now the files have been posted to archive and sharing sites on the internet, allowing the public to get their hands on the doomed project.

Endgame isn't really a favorite of mine as how it's all put together is just too distracting and jarring for me
Same here. I think Ken Penders even once admitted (on his messageboard) that project was a big trainwreck.
I enjoyed the Mecha Madness arc a lot more, but there were things about it that really bugged me; many of which pertained to Bunnie.

It's been so long since I last read them, I'd have to go back & re-read them before I can settle on a favorite issue or storyline.

If the game is 32-bit and uses Direct X, you stand a good chance of getting them to run under Windows 10. If it's a 16-bit game, Win 10 won't even install it; you'd need an emulator or a VM.
Oddly enough, the Sega Smash Pack CD's which were designed for Win 95/98 installed & ran perfectly fine; now I just have to git gud at Sonic Spinball again.
Might & Magic 6: The Mandate of Heaven also installed, but sometimes it freezes during play & takes everything with it, forcing me to reboot the system. I think it's a sound issue because everytime it's happened, there was either a transition with the music or it was just after a sound effect played. Like I said before, games that used old versions of Direct X can be wonky
{Edit: Might & Magic 7: For Blood and Honor had the same issue, btw.}
{Edit #2: Just realized that both games used the same engine, so of course they have the same issue🙄
