  3. Lately, I've been getting errors most of the time when I logout. The usual one is  "a configuration or server error". It's not the Firefox update; I tried Edge & Chrome and still got the same errors. Also had to redo any post reactions because they don't stick the 1st time.

    Has anybody else experiened this?

    I just didn't expect it to not only be a crossover with Ultraman, but it's ALSO coming out to the West! The creators of Ultraman really were serious about that Western push huh?

    This is a pretty big indication that they are ;)

    Gotta say, game looks like the best parts of Monster Rancher 1 & 2, with all the camp of Ultraman. Seems like a fun title,

    Yeah, and we need more fun titles. Not a big Ultraman fan either, but it does look like it would be fun.

    Doctor Reacts To Marvel Medical Scenes (MCU)

    Quote

    There are over 25 movies in the MCU, so today I decided to take a look at a few of the medical scenes that have popped up in Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Iron Man, and Doctor Strange. Disney spares no expense in making these Marvel movies, but how thorough are they with their medical accuracy? Sure, we can suspend our disbelief on plenty of things, such as Doctor Steve Strange entering his astral state to assist in surgery on himself, but there are other things I just can’t let slide, such as when to do CHEST COMPRESSIONS, CHEST COMPRESSIONS, CHEST COMPRESSIONS!

  6. I wish I could say that I'm surprised by this, but actually their working environment has been terrible for decades. It -does- seem to have gotten worse these days though :(

    The business model is in serious need of an overhaul.

    Iizuka: Every game developer knows how the tastes of American players are very different from the Japanese, but when you actually live overseas, you come to understand that in a deeper, more direct way. I am sure that ends up being reflected in the way we make these games too.

    I can see the logic in that.

    Interesting interview there; thanks for sharing, Mike

    —Learning English through Sonic, I'm jealous. (laughs) So the anime has finally come to America too, then.

    Iizuka: It's aired on this children's TV programming block called FoxBox. It seems to be getting rave reviews. I hear it's the most popular of the Saturday morning cartoon block, which includes "Kirby: Right Back at Ya" and "Shaman King". When I see it, I can feel how it's creating a new generation of Sonic fans in the American market.

    Heh, I'm not a fan of Sonic X :P

    We thought it would be fun if the characters worked together and acted in tandem. Up to now the action has mostly all been solo, with other characters only emerging when the story advances. This time we wanted to see if we could make a game where all the characters are together from start to finish. That was one of our first ideas.

    ^This explains a few things about Sonic Heroes.

    I think you should experiment with dimensionality now in your paints.

    Kinda doing that with my latest project:

    I added a new orange glow-in-the-dark paint to the last one; Hubby liked the results too. Dunno how to get a photo of it glowing though :P

    Which type of player are you?

    You ask that after posting a video about -GM- styles?😕

    I was expecting something more like this:

    {Edit: this ran throught my head while I was watching Red's 2nd video...

    Q: Why doesn't the village have a blacksmith?
    A: A monster ate the last one they had. }

    ...as it’s only on the Mega Drive, and menus aside it’s all in Japanese. Unless you can read it, yeah not very accessible to anyone else sadly.

    Heh, I forgot about that. :P

    Played the SNES English Patch, although now there’s a PS1 English Patch so that makes up for it.

    Almost. It would still be cool if they made an official uncensored English release of the game, but that seems very unlikely.

    I can’t see there being a 3rd Genesis Mini without some repeat titles

    Me neither.

    1 hour ago, Mike Arcade said:

    Biggest gripe of mine is how the Genesis Mini 2 has far less CD titles over Japan’s. I don’t understand why StarBlade didn’t get in, and really we could had a few more like Sol-Feace, Time Gal, Earthworm Jim CD, and Panic. I mean there were more options outside of licensed games like Spider-Man or Terminator. Also, Snatcher really can’t catch a break can it?

    Nope 😅

    So, you guys think this would be cool to have?

    Yes!

    {Edit: *checks collection* I still have Shining in the Darkness; fun RPG ^.^}

    {Edit 2: *wonders if Shin Megani Tensei will or won't be so heavily censored this time*}

    Why Was Fallout 5 Announced?

    Comment/clarification by Whimsu:

    Quote

    Just to clarify; I'm not saying Fallout 5 WILL release in 2039. The 8 year development cycle of Starfield was due to Creation Engine 2's development and other "current events". We don't know if the engine will need more upgrades for Elder Scrolls or Fallout, given the leaked dev statements in regards to the engine's quality. (yes Elder Scrolls VI is using Creation Engine 2, but also we don't know what the state of creation engine 2 actually is)

    The 2039-2040 release date timeline is really the "worst case scenario".

    If the engine needs major upgrades for both Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5, and I assume by that point the developer would start looking into third party engines like Unreal. Otherwise, I'd count on the 3-5 year dev cycle.

    It's common chatter nowadays that Autism is largely under-diagnosed in women.

    Exactly where is this common chatter? Experts have been saying that for decades.

    *drops a few examples from PubMed.gov*

    Girls and women with autism [2019]

    Are males and females with autism spectrum disorder more similar than we thought? [2017]

    An investigation of the 'female camouflage effect' in autism using a computerized ADOS-2 and a test of sex/gender differences [2016]

    We know a lot more about autism than we did 30 years ago, but there's still a lot we don't know - including a definitive way to diagnose or even test for it. Sara's book seems like it would present an interesting perspective on the matter. How many autistic females have gotten anything puiblished? Dr. Grandin is the only person who immediately comes to mind.

    {Edit: There are a few interesting statements in the January posting of The Oracle:

    Quote

    A study published in September in the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry noted that the number of people diagnosed with autism in the United Kingdom jumped by 787 percent between 1998 and 2018, likely due to increased recognition. The increase was greater for females than males. Researchers compared the rates of autism recorded in doctors’ records in England, covering over 9 million patients. The study’s lead author, Ginny Russell, Ph.D., from the University of Exeter, said that the definition of what “constitutes autism has changed over time, and females and adults were not often thought of as having autism 20 years ago.”
