I just find it bizarre is all, but perhaps these different collections are meant to cater to different audiences. Arcade Stadium is for Casual Fans, with Fighting Collection those that are into Fighters in general.

That seems likely. It also could justify adding games that really don't fit in with the other releases or haven't been available on modern systems.

    its not worth reviewing

    Wow, that bad, huh?

Is it at least worth mocking? (At times like this, I miss Mystery Science Theater 3000...)

{Edit: Knights Watch seem to agree about how bad it is - Disney Star Wars is making the world worse (~44 min.)

Once again Disney is attacking fans and deflecting criticisms by vilifying those who criticize Obi-wan Kenobi, and as a result is actively making people believe the world is a terrible place filled with awful people, all to try and hide how bad their show is.

They tend to ramble on a lot, so here's something more concise from Forbes:

Somehow ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Makes A Showdown With Darth Vader Boring

What can I say about the Wacky Adventures Of Old Ben Kenobi And Princess Leia?

I’m just not feeling it, guys. I had a little hope that the first two episodes were just a rocky start, but this latest one has me feeling pretty gloomy about the whole affair. We’re halfway through a six-episode limited-run series and it’s just deeply mediocre in just about every way. Nothing important has happened. Beyond just the basic problem with prequels (we already know when and how Obi-Wan, Darth Vader and Leia die!) it’s just not a very good TV show on a basic, fundamental level. It is not very entertaining!

And here's the bottom line from Rotten Tomatoes:

No Way Home was pretty neat, but Dr. Strange 2 was…not great, putting it lightly.

Yeah, a lot of the Strange 2 reviews describe it as a wokefest that went off the rails; not gonna watch it :P

I’m burnt out on this current era of Super Hero Live-Action films, with Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and the new Thor coming out I’m just done with Marvel entirely. I can’t be bothered to care anymore

I'm rather apprehensive about She-Hulk because it was one of my favorite Marvel titles; I still have the original run & a complete set of Sensational ^.^

If it borrows heavily from the Sensational She-Hulk run, it could be good but I doubt they'd base it off of that given how woke the recent stuff has been 💩

And…it’s probably the most underwhelming preview of all time. No combat, just running around.

It looks nice, but the top trending comment so far is “It looks like a tech demo.”

I can see why; for one thing, there was a distinct lack of enemies :P

    {Edit: And what's up with that bird?}

Darn. So much for gettin' rid of Bill Gates, Hilary Clinton, Klaus Schwab & George Soros... :P

I'd also make sure to influence ABC and keep SatAM going for a 3rd Season and keep going until it reaches a health end or cliffhanger, getting it good air dates would help, perhaps get Hurst a SatAM Movie. Influence Archie Sonic to either get Penders away or completely control him, which in turn would change the entire course for the comic, probably for the better actually. Keep Sonic The Comic alive and not let Egmont Fleetway screw them over. Pretty much keep those mediums alive and if they need to have a healthy send off.

I'd be on board with that.

A trip to the Old West could be cool, provided it's not a one-way trip.

Watching Annie Oakley perform in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show would be awesome ^.^ Maybe I'd even find a gold nugget or a Colt Peacemaker to take back as a souvenir ;)

I don't know if its appropriate for this thread but i wish to talk about the release of the Halo live action tv series which premiered on Paramount plus streaming.

It's an adaptation, so I'd say it counts.

they really diverged from the source material and imsulted the fanbase.

Why am I not surprised? Oh yeah; it's because that seems to happen a lot with video game adaptations :P

I've never played Halo nor do I have anything to do with Paramount+, so I can't make an informed comment about it.

  7. Netflix is in trouble again; this time it's coming from the shareholders.

Netflix shareholders sue over subscription slump disclosures [Reuters]

    Quote

Netflix Inc (NFLX.O) has been hit with a shareholder lawsuit in a U.S. court in California accusing the streaming entertainment company of misleading the market about its ability to keep adding subscribers in recent months.

The lawsuit filed in San Francisco federal court on Tuesday seeks damages for declines in Netflix's share price this year after the company missed its subscriber growth estimates.

Filed by a Texas-based investment trust, the lawsuit accused Los Gatos, California-based Netflix and its top executives of failing to disclose that its growth was slowing amid increased competition and that it was losing subscribers on a net basis.

    Details from Cision PR Newswire:

    Quote

CLASS DEFINITION: The lawsuit seeks to recover losses on behalf of Netflix, Inc. investors who were adversely affected by alleged securities fraud. This lawsuit is on behalf of persons and entities that purchased or otherwise acquired Netflix common stock or call options, or sold put options, between October 19, 2021 and April 19, 2022, inclusive.

    Quote

CASE DETAILS: The filed complaint alleges that defendants made false statements and/or concealed that: (1) Netflix was exhibiting slower acquisition growth due to, among other things, account sharing by customers and increased competition from other streaming services; (2) the Company was experiencing difficulties retaining customers; (3) as a result of the foregoing, the Company was losing subscribers on a net basis (4) as a result, the Company's financial results were being adversely affected; and (5) as a result of the foregoing, Defendants' positive statements about the Company's business, operations, and prospects were materially false and/or misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis.

WHAT'S NEXT? If you suffered a loss in Netflix, Inc. during the relevant time frame, you have until July 5, 2022 to request that the Court appoint you as lead plaintiff. Your ability to share in any recovery doesn't require that you serve as a lead plaintiff.

NO COST TO YOU: If you are a class member, you may be entitled to compensation without payment of any out-of-pocket costs or fees. There is no cost or obligation to participate.

I get the feeling this will get more traction that the Cuties lawsuit.😔

  8. Square Enix sells off Tomb Raider, Deus Ex IPs and the studios behind them [Polygon]

    Quote

Square Enix is selling off Western studios Eidos, Crystal Dynamics, and Square Enix Montreal, as well as the franchises those studios develop, including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Thief, to Embracer Group, the companies announced Monday. The $300 million deal will give Embracer Group ownership of more than 50 back-catalog games from Square Enix’s library and will affect 1,100 employees across three studios.

Sweden-based Embracer already owns publishing and development studios Gearbox Software, THQ Nordic, Saber Interactive, Koch Media, Deep Silver, and Coffee Stain Studios. Embracer has also expanded beyond video games to acquire comic book publisher Dark Horse and tabletop game publisher Asmodee. Embracer will have more than 14,000 employees, 10,000 game developers, and 124 internal studios, when the deal with Square Enix closes.

Square Enix says the sale of its studios and IP will establish “a more efficient allocation of resources” and enable “the launch of new businesses by moving forward with investments in fields including blockchain, AI, and the cloud.”

Why Square Enix Sold Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics For Just $300 Million [The Gamer]

    Quote

Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad broke down the numbers for us. The profit margins on running Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal were far lower than Square Enix's other studios. Crystal Dynamics had an operating profit margin of 3.6%, while Eidos Montreal squeaked by with just 0.65% in 2021. Square Enix overall had an operating profit of 14.2% last year, meaning the sold studios were vastly underperforming compared to other parts of the company.

But this is less about Eidos Montreal or Crystal Dynamics underperforming and more about the fact these studios just make expensive games, and expensive games can sometimes take years to recoup their initial investments--if they ever do at all.

  10. Okay, I'm adding another book to my reading list. I read "Thinking in Pictures" over a decade ago, but I didn't know that Temple Grandin had written a book after that one until I stumbled across this video (once again linked, not embedded, because it's over 1 hour long).

A review at Good Reads seemed to break it down well:

    Quote

This book is written as two parts. The first is an overview of the current state of research into the causes of autism, in turn divided into subsections on brain structure and genetics. The second is a personal and impassioned but not terribly coherent plea for Aspies to be defined as much for their strengths as their weaknesses, indeed for Aspie traits to be seen just as traits without any attendant value judgements about them at all.

{Edit: Apparently she's written even more books than that:

  11. I'm surprised I hadn't posted about this one before 🤷‍♀️

FNAF: Security Breach Fury's Rage - Official Full Gameplay and Cutscenes

The intro. is hilarious and I like how it breaks the 4th wall. 😄

There's nothing revolutionary about the graphics or gameplay, but it was fun to play for a while ( I got bored with it quickly though). Lots of fanservice too, but that's part of the fun. I seemed to do best with Monty.

You can still get the Windows version for free at GameJolt.
