      I thought they already were thanks to sonic spinball, though I guess as far as the modern games go this is a pleasent surprise. that being said, I hope that they don't overstep and just give them a fresh start already (and for the love of all that is good ditch the redesigns and go back to the classic ones already, names and all, they looked better, sounded better, and fit surprisingly well into the games!!!)

    Was at the calgary expo yesterday, saw an old sonic 3 VHS alongside it's megadrive cartridge at an imported games booth, apparently it was a promotional video for stores in Japan selling the game.

    AM2R and sonic mania; still proving sega does what nintendon't.

     

    Just got v1.1 finally, was stalled at the 4 omega metroids after the search and rescue team and v1.1 nerfs them. Unfortunately the save was corrupted and i'm now back at square 1.

      because I have to re-hunt 40 some odd metroids, and solve multiple puzzels and boss fights all over again, at least upgrades are like every other metroid game: non existent at the start and hidden in plain sight later on. and I was just about to see the haunted starship!!!

    I've been an avid Xbox user since 2010 or so, yet I only recently discovered that Blinx: the time sweeper was sorta competing with halo to be the mascot, and that Nintendo and Sega aren't the only companies to mishandle alternative IP's as Blinx was apparently dropped officially some time in 2015.

    I've been an avid Xbox user since 2010 or so, yet I only recently discovered that Blinx: the time sweeper was sorta competing with halo to be the mascot, and that Nintendo and Sega aren't the only companies to mishandle alternative IP's as Blinx was apparently dropped officially some time in 2015.

      Studio artoon? I dunno who would have done it in specific, but from what I read (on wikipedia) it might have been someone by the name of  Masamichi Harada. It's funny that this was gonna compete with the other big mascots of the day, as halo was the one that curb stomped everything before going the way of metroid.

      did a little bit more with the sketches (primarily the first one) by trying to emulate the style from your initial post with the character sprites, took way longer than I anticipated and their a little rough, but I hope it looks good:

    Sorry I haven't been here in a while. School's been just the worst for me, and development for X-Tra Dimension has been pretty slow, mainly due to the lack of interest around the project...

      Hey don't get too discouraged, it's just a process that takes time and patience. Your still in a sort of early pre-production phase, and most people remain nervous and skeptical until much later on, doubly so for new or first time developers. It'll pass the further along you get.

      No biggie! I've definitely had some  moments where that's happened before.

      Though on that note, although sneaking flag into your game would make me delighted in a multitude of ways, I think I have to politely decline. (though I wouldn't be opposed to slipping someone else in however...)

      in reply to @Ishapar, the game idea I had was a silly little platformer inspired by both it being halloween at the time, boredom, and listening to a remix of grim grinning ghosts. basically you played as the main character flag, a young orphaned catgirl who's spirit is cursed to linger eternally thanks to one of her ancestors being a dunce and offending the leader of the 12 deities of the world (in the most ridiculous way imaginable), as terrible as it sounds it has its perks; namely special magic items/mcguffins that would allow her to take on the aspects of certain halloween monsters (zombies, ghosts, mummies, robots, witches, the skeletons with the guns and such, etc.) in order to stop a mysterious plot involving a dark sorcerer plotting to take over the known world using the 12 deities powers. I spent a lot of time beating it around the inner recesses of my mind, and only ever finished a handful of sprites. sadly most of it remains nothing more than an assortment of sketches and doodles of varying quality that I never have the time to work on.

    Does anyone else miss Shade the Echidna from Sonic Chronicles? I thought she was a cool character with a lot of potential.

      Tis a shame, she really did have a lot of potential before the lawsuits damaged sega. But on the bright side, at least you can use her as the excuse for why knuckles doesn't seem to guard the master emerald anymore.
