 If it does not involve a participation-trophy victim-saint, like some neck ears gamer-guy in a tacky Goodwill dress, they are not interested. There are real world systemic issues in gaming culture, like exploration of workers and children online, but it gets masked with the banal psudeo-morality of intersectionalism. It’s easy to wear, type, or blab a cliche like “Be Kind” making kindness in a culture is much more thankless and difficult. Trust me, I have been in non-profit work since 14. No one like that cares when you actually do something, because they are part of the problem, not the solution.

When you don’t get praise for pointing something out by the establishment, perhaps given scorn, you are probably doing something right.

I like the angle that Sonic is a west-coast hero, that was raised in a small town in Montana. SoA was a part of California after all, and Westopolis and Station Square always had a west coast feel, especially the steep hill in City Escape, very San Francisco. 
 

 I really like the evolution in design for Robotnik. He has a very visually demonstrated arc.
 

 My only complaint so far with the series is that Sonic is a little too ditzy some times, I would like him to lean more into the fact he is suppose to have some adolescent punch  to him. SoE’s Sonic comic lets him be flawed more that way, and it promotes  more relationship conflict for the story, which really lets your characters shine and show, and creates good potential for character arcs. Also, that  way you don’t have to rely on Sonic’s overconfidence looking like prat-falling vacuity (the missiles to face stuff). Make the “light taunting” actually mean something between Tails and Sonic. He clearly would have difficulty relating to another “Mobian” like himself. Clearly this Sonic would not be very socialized given the last movie, I hope they lean into that when he has to relate with who eventually becomes his best friend.

I will read through this with Mike. I am thinking of playing the rules out here to toe into a Sonic RP. We play this game, and the army tactics and such macrocosmically affect our more microcosmic person-by-person tabletop game in subsequent sessions. Basically using the game as pallet refresher for our regular RP’s. Should be really fun to do.

It would be a tragedy to see so many people loose jobs. But if there working conditions are horrible, it’s quite the zugzwang. Have you noticed no one reaches out to the actual potential victims of these situations?  The best outcome is for the company to reform. I certainly won’t put stock in them until this gets cleared out. And I am no fan of their products really…But companies like Twitter, YouTube, Meta, are kind of stuck on the crossfires of our culture wars. This is so fascinating to see people making N64 games again and starting where that micro-culture left off.  People are even getting carts and playing them on CRTV’s.

I would hate for hundreds to loose their jobs at the altar of my politics or cultural  opinions about this company. I will be honest, I don’t like that company for various reasons. Part of me would love to see it explode.  But honestly, I am not a fan of witch hunts either. For one, someone’s child needs to eat and someone needs a retirement.  If these allegations cannot be proved in civil court or criminal court, then it’s going to be more a problem to react to this without that information. This guy may truly well indeed be a scum bag with an army of misogynistic creeps, but I have the common sense to realize how wretched accusations like this can be to innocent people and how they cause more pain for people. Cancel culture needs to die, and must start with us. If not any individual is able to get non-personed by the overweeningly apathetic coward-collective that is the internet. It certainly won’t help or empower any victims. No one even remembers the Metoo# people. The hysteria over that died as soon as It backfired on perverts like Biden, Franken, Cuomo, Clinton…etcetera.  It’s never about people like me, who have been sexually harassed before. 

 If there is indeed any sexual violence in that corporation, then people need to not hide behind blue-haired Twitter weirdos and actually confront it in the court of law. Justice and forensics matter, not mean tweets. And everyone is innocent until proven guilty, or you are one step away from gulags and witch trials. Activision needs a full forensic cavity search and make it a brutal one.m, just to keep them tender to the issue.  But, typically if that does not happen, and one or two guys get non-personed without much legal activity, then you must realize this was never about Justice…it was about a power play, intrigue. 
 

Either way, I hope anyone hurt, finds peace and release from this pain. That is all that matters, what I want from it be damned.

I am so in if you ever want to do a game here. And I really appreciate you taking the time to make it. I bet my Special Needs Outreach group would like to play this. I got a lot of Sonic fans who also like war games.  It’s the perfect combination for them.

I really do wish we could get our crap together and do a good infrastructure bill. But the monopolization of rail and years of tricky subsidies really messed things up compared to more private automobiles. I really am excited to see any growth or revival of rail transit through. Seeing the traditional dining plan just come back after this Covid garbage is cause for celebration.

Congrats! I am proud to see you making a bold move towards embracing your creativity. Now is the time to do it too, many people are leaving their old jobs that frankly were not thankful to have people around during Covid. You make a good example to people who need to focus on their actual career over their day jobs.

 When I have the audio section of my studio finished, perhaps we can do an interview and share it on your Discord. @Akessel92 @Mike Arcade@WarTravellerand @Wulfsbanewould probably more than happy to join. This project fits in that nice happy place between things that go boom and bang, and Sonic; I am sure they will love it. XP If you are not comfortable with audio interviews, I can do a written based one for people to read as an article.

I am not sure how we can do this game post based here on the forum, but if people want to try, we have a section for it.

It’s good that you are experimenting with different medium, and trying to communicate texture and lighting in a very direct way. You do probably want to take a step back and use metallic paints instead though. The glitter paints would be create as a thin special effects layer for a painting of Nagus’s sanctuary.

You are becoming very mindful of layering and how it informs forms. Which is a good thing. Many try to paint everything wet on wet all at once and that is no good for many dynamic figures. It’s best to wait and glaze with acrylic especially, unless you are trying to bloc out a Bob-Ross background/landscape or in a more detail end of a painting, like the blush and shading on a smooth face. 

. Currently the WIP for Metal and Sonic looks like Sonic blitzed out of his pelt and is now speed-streaking butt naked with his eyes closed. XD

The-secret-identity-even-to-their-self trope, huh? Honestly that is rarely ever done since it launched with Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde as an idea. Mostly used as a horror trope, for werewolf's and such, not as heroes. It can create a bizarre situation where someone knows you are "Clark Kent" when you yourself forget you are Superman.

Basically the only thing like “anime” I ever really liked was Metal Gear.

So it's been a while since this came out. And it seems to have aged the best as a Sonic game. Do you feel it will influence the future of Sonic games? And if so, how and why?
