  1. Hey we got something more substantial, and a release date for December 15th!

Also, apparently in this show Rouge is a part of Sonic’s crew, which is pretty interesting as that’s not ever really the case. No complaints on my part though, that’s pretty neat.

We also get a look at some Alternate Counterparts as well. Looks like things went bad for Tails in the Tail department. :/

But really, I’m shocked the show runners got away with that. Considering how uppity they were back when Rise of Lyric was in development.

On that note, Ay Yo did Amy get Mostly Roboticized!?

So yeah, any thoughts? Let us know.

So I know this is old news, and we don’t post a LOT on IDW Sonic, but it bears to mention the HE’S BACK.

    MECHA SONIC

…as in, from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The one featured in all the Mario Ball Z sprite movies. XP

Seriously though, this will be an awesome mini series to check out.

Mostly all of their mini series have been awesome, though I didn’t care much for Bad Guys though.

  3. So, Pokemon has had some big trailers lately with their new, albeit Ridiculous Motocycle Legendary Pokemon. Aside from that, their new gimmick gives your Roosters Crystalline Forms that'll change your Types. Gotta be honest, it's probably the best gameplay gimmick since Mega Evolutions. I mean, it's better than the Nuke Attacks of Z-Moves, and whatever Gigantimax was suppose to be. From some leaks I've heard, it's gonna be a really cool game with some more variants and such. Still, kinda feels like Gen 8 was a beta for Gen 9 in hindsight.

Digimon is making another great comeback with this game, part Mon RPG, part Visual Novel, as in if you screw up some main characters can actually bite it. No kidding! It seems like your playing a Digimon Anime Series, one of the good ones I mean. I'd like to check it out someday as there are things about Digimon I always liked more so than Pokemon.

...you know, I really did think that Monster Rancher was gonna make a comeback. I just didn't expect it to not only be a crossover with Ultraman, but it's ALSO coming out to the West! The creators of Ultraman really were serious about that Western push huh? Gotta say, game looks like the best parts of Monster Rancher 1 & 2, with all the camp of Ultraman. Seems like a fun title, granted I'm not that big of an Ultraman fan and would have preferred say, a Godzilla/Toho Kaiju Monster Rancher game. Still, they're probably open to the possibility of such, and I hope this leads to an Official Monster Rancher DX follow up. Oh, and the 1 & 2 DX Release has NONE of Koei Tecmo's BS DLC Legion, so really check that one out. @MoKat Looks hilarious huh? XD

One of the first, major Monster RPGs from Indie Devs, Temtem left Early Access and has hit 1.0, it's also come out on Consoles like the Switch! They've really come a long way, and if you want to see how Indie Developers make their own Mon RPG than here's one to try out. Multiplayer Included!

Now, just to cover all my bases here is Coromon, and Single Player Monster RPG that's been in development for awhile that's been out for a bit. It looks really good, and uses some excellent Pixel Art. So if you are looking for something else from an Indie Dev that's more in line with the GBA and DS games then this one will be it for you. Not much else to say as it's just a really solid game. Though I do have my own criticism with Monsters only having One Elemental Type, similar to the two Nexomon Games. But this one feels far more solid and was built for Consoles and PC in mind. So I can comfortably recommend it. They're planning out a sequel too, so who knows what the future holds for this possible series.

Just wanted to cover everything that I know of in this niche little subgenre, and from what I've heard with other indie devs out there making their own, along with others that are already out like Monster Crown which I haven't covered, this plenty to explore and see. Just don't try to Catch them All. XP

  4. @MoKat I highly doubt Shin Megami Tensei would be censored as it’s only on the Mega Drive, and menus aside it’s all in Japanese. Unless you can read it, yeah not very accessible to anyone else sadly. It’s a shame as I like  SMT1. Played the SNES English Patch, although now there’s a PS1 English Patch so that makes up for it.

I’d like to get the Genesis version if I can, as the Western versions tend to go for a lot more in the after market usually. Unless the Mega Drive version does have English versions of Lunar 1, 2, and Popful Mail. But I highly doubt it.

  5. Here’s the complete list of Japan’s Mega Drive Mini 2, which is a great collection for those over there. Although it’s a real bummer that we didn’t get Popful Mail or Lunar 1 & 2.

My second biggest gripe about the Genesis Mini 2 lacking those games, and apparently not every game will get their alternate versions via language switching. Which might mean you can’t play those games in English should you get the Japanese mini console.

Biggest gripe of mine is how the Genesis Mini 2 has far less CD titles over Japan’s. I don’t understand why StarBlade didn’t get in, and really we could had a few more like Sol-Feace, Time Gal, Earthworm Jim CD, and Panic. I mean there were more options outside of licensed games like Spider-Man or Terminator. Also, Snatcher really can’t catch a break can it?

I wasn’t expecting a Mortal Kombat game for us, or Eternal Champions CD, as they would have raised the rating up to an M. But they’re still missed.

I will say that we do kinda get made up for it with more Genesis titles, so it’s a give and take on what you like more. I can say that Genesis wise that we got a great line up, bar one dud.

While I do like Clayfighter, it really shouldn’t be on this console, heck they didn’t even use its Tournament Edition. Still, better than seeing Virtua Fighter 2 for the Genesis AGAIN.

Overall though? I think it’s a fine Mini Console with a lot of good titles, though not the Sega-CD Rarity Collection many thought it would be.

I can’t see there being a 3rd Genesis Mini without some repeat titles, and you really could have it without any 32X titles.

So, you guys think this would be cool to have? And what titles would you like to see if we got a 3rd Mini? Let us know. :)

Opinion video, but the host might be onto something...

    Why Was Fallout 5 Announced?

    Comment/clarification by Whimsu:

I’ve seen this video too, and I do agree to this assessment on how far off Fallout 5 would be released. Although I’d say it all depends on how well it’s engine will function in Starfield. Then we’d get a good assessment on how the next Bethesda releases will be like.

I know that’s pretty vague, but it really depends on how Starfield turns out.

  7. We got the full lineup for both versions of the Genesis Mini 2 everyone! Gotta say, overall we got a lot of good games for both mini consoles.

For one, we do indeed get Night Trap. I mean even Japan gets Night Trap, it’s that big of a game, seriously it’s Japanese release on here really surprised me. In the US we got Sewer Shark, which…alright? Really would have preferred Android Assault or Eternal Champions CD over it.

Japan got StarCrusier, which is suppose to be a really good game, that did get a fan made English Patch years ago so check it out that way.

Both sides got Atomic Runner, Granada, and Ranger-X, all of which are good shooting games so no complaints here. Speaking of, we all got Midnight Resistance, and in the US we got Element Master and Hellfire. The latter two are really good games, though I’m surprised Hellfire made it over Zero Wing. All your base are belong to us anyone? XP

To be fair, while I think Hellfire is better than Zero Wing overall, I would have preferred Grind Stormer.

Ristar rightfully is in the Genesis Mini 2, along with Herzog Zwei, and we got Desert Strike! Surprised they didn’t go for the Unreleased Sega CD Collection of the Strike Games.

Now, as for the Special Games, we got a port of the 1982 Sega game Super Locomotive, which is…ehh. The biggest surprises are quite amazing though. There’s this breakout type game called Devi & Pii, which looks pretty fun, and was made by Iizuka before he went on to work on Sonic 3.

Best for last though, is a Vs. Mode Only port of Puyo Puyo Sun! Which so far looks incredible as a Genesis Port. Finally, we got an Actual Updated Port of Space Harrier II with much better scrolling…and the Original Space Harrier for the Genesis apparently included in it!

I heard that M2 wanted to make an Arcade Remake of Space Harrier II after their Remake of Fantasy Zone II back in the day, and I gotta say that’s a real nice compromise. Glad to see how it differs from the original.

I got a lot more to say later, so until then comment on which version of this console you would like to get. :)

I can believe some parts. But a lot of this reads like an early draft.

I mean Big over Rouge? Does anyone honestly belive that?

I know right? Unless they’re saving her for The Series on Paramount, an After Credits Scene, or a Shadow Spin-Off, her not showing up is a little strange.

On that note, while Big doesn’t have pretty much any narrative weight, how does that coordinate with Amy? Is he like a Big Brother to her?

For that matter, I can imagine that Amy could be way different from her game counterpart. Similar to Boom perhaps? Because I can’t imagine her being adapted straight up from the games.

We all know that Shadow will be the focus of the movie, as for Metal Sonic, I have a theory. He’ll replace the Biolizard as the big creature in the end of the film for the Hedgehogs to fight. It would streamline things, though everything else is up in the air for now.

*nods* I haven't seen many shooters with a "guard" system. 😉

This is a great one with a Guard system, or should I say Reflect System. XP

It’s part of the Tale of Alltynex Trilogy of Doujin games. It’s a great indie series from back in the day. While it’s international publisher closed it’s doors recently, a new one took up the rights and the games are still on Steam.

  10. Next batch of games for the Mega Drive Mini 2. Some pretty good hits overall like Ecco CD and Gain Ground, but pretty low key overall. The new port that surprised me though was SNK’s Viewpoint, which already had a Genesis release! Though the original port was not the best, plagued with slowdown and issues.

Still, it’s a nice surprise. I’m excited to see what the last batch will bring, and how the International release will differ.

Edit: So Viewpoint here is not an updated version. Nor was its Genesis port bad with slowdown actually, my bad. It’s considered Special Content because this port was never released in the US.

Really hope to see the world more populated and alive.

You and me both, though considering from the sound of Starfall Islands, I sincerely doubt it.

I’m starting to think that this game is more of a test bed for what they could possibly do in the future, if Sonic Team even has a future at this rate.

I want this to be good, but I have my doubts. Can you blame me though?
