  1. Welcome to the site! Awesome to have you here!
  2. A second portal opens just over the unconcious Eggman, and landing right on tope of him is...Waluigi? His fall broken by the round scientist, he looks around his surroundings. "Weh? Where the heck am I?" He looks around at all the onlookers, very confused.
  3. It's not that they didn't want to sap money out of desperate fans, the designs and world in this game DO have potential. It's just that the production was hellish and long, until the point of coming out as a badly programmed wreck.
  4. Mighty No. 9 Before my review, I must stress, I never backed this game, I bought it on sale for curiosity's sake and this review will be ignoring how hideously mismanaged the production was. This is just for the game itself. Synopsis: During the "present year", robotics have advanced through Xels, a compontent which is used to create robots to serve or battle. The world is at peace, as battles are confined to a Colosseum, and only in good fun. Of these machines, the most notable are the Mighty Numbers. A group of 9 sibling robots built by Dr. White. One day, most of the robots are mysteriously corrupted by a virus and cause mayhem. One of the only robots left intact is Beck, the 9th Mighty No. To find out the source of the virus and save his siblings from corruption, Beck travels across the city, using his unique ability to assimilate and heal robots to save the day. Likes: While the game is a very blantant Mega Man clone, there are a few slight alterations that freshen up the formula and make things a bit easier. Unlike Mega Man, Beck can grab onto ledges, and can dash in midair or on the ground to move faster. I also love the system where when you save a Mighty No. it may help you in other levels by destroying certain hazards. It shows how these characters are a family and it makes the road to victory easier. Dislikes: First of all, the game runs poorly on Wii U, the version I played, possibility of crashing, framerate drops, etc. Some of the obstacles and bosses are unfair also, many of them having 1 hit kill attacks. The story is also bland while trying hard to be amazing, and the voices can be very annoying. I also was sadly dispointed with Ray, the DLC playable character. She's rhe moat interesting story wise, but her gameplay style does not fit the level design for this game. Would I reccomend it? Well...no. I do like this game, more than most people, but unless you're a hardcore Mega Man fan, this game's faults will turn you off from it. And that's ignoring the controversy surrounding it.
  5. Basically, one of the main messages that I feel is conveyed is that one should not be naive enough to think that everything could be perfect and that the world is either completely happy or bad. There do exists negatives, the main one being shown is racism, both in how an individual sees it, and how badly it can be used against people. At the same time, I feel it also shows how despite how flawed the world is, you should still try to make things better, try to be things others would think you can't, fighting against racism and such. At least that's how I seee it, though I'm a tad worried I worded it badly. Not so good at writing things like this, heh.
  6. Always nice to meet a new member. Welcome to the site!
  7. I've been to a couple amusement parks in my life. Knott's Camp Snoopy (which has sadly been completely remodeled into a Nick park), Disneyland, Universal Hollywood and the theme park in the Circus Circus hotel in Las Vegas. I have fond memeories of each, too many to list really.
  8. So far, for me at least, the rules have been very effective in making the site comfortable for me to come on all the time. If I'm honest, I've yet to find anything to suggest improving.
  9. Sonic Generations (Yes, it took me until now to finally own/play this game, fitting for the 25th anniversary) Synopsis: Our favorite Blue Blur is celebrating his birthday with all his closest friends, when a mysterious beast appears and tears apart time and space, kidnapping all of Sonic's friends. Upon arriving in a white void where time doesn't exist, Sonic meets his younger self, before he learned any of his modern tricks, lost that weight, and got those green contacts. Seeing as how Sonic's speed restores time, they travel across many classic locations from the series to stop the sinister Time Eater. Likes: This game features the best that Sonic has to offer. Fast, instense levels, amazing music and kick-ass bosses. Classic Sonic's gameplay feels as close as you can get to the old games, while Modern's is some of the fastest speeds I have ever seen in a video game. The customization system is also fantastic. Dislikes: The game feels extremely glitchy at several points, and since I have a weaker PC, there's a lot of framerate drops. Also, some of the challenges are simply annoying, and the final boss is terribly designed. Would I recommend it? If you've never played a 3D Sonic game, play this one. It has something for nearly every Sonic fan to enjoy. Also, I REALLY just want to gush about this next game. Kirby: Planet Robobot Synopsis: The peaceful, dream-like Planet Popstar is visited by an alien menace. The Haltmann Works Company, an evil corporation that corrupts the planet, turning it's landscape into metal and roboticizing its inhabitants, including the likes of Whispy Woods and even Meta Knight himself! Kirby, having slept through the takeover, wakes up as one of the only organics left, and sets out to save his home. Along the way, he befriends a rouge Robobot Armor, a mech suit used by the Haltmann Company's machines. With his new mech equipped, Kirby can now fight fire with fire. Likes: The level design in this game is some of the strongest in the series. Nothing is unfair or unobtainable unless you yourself make the mistake. Kirby's copy abilities are of course fun to use, but they get even better with the Robobot Armor's copying powers. The armor itself is seemlessly integrated into gameplay as well. In addition, there are also extra modes to play, a 3D puzzle game, a mini-RPG, a time attack where you play as Meta Knight, and a difficult Boss Rush, all of which are fun to play. My favorite part would have to be the final boss, which I dare not spoil, but it's an extra treat for old Kirby fans, Dislikes: The bosses, while still fun to play are almost all rehashes of old Kirby bosses. Which is fine for newcomers, but for veterans, it's a bit glaring because of how original the Kirby series can get with its bosses. Would I reccomend it? YES. Aside from its very few flaws, this is one of the strongest titles in the entire franchise, and my personal favorite to play. If you've never played Kirby, start with this or Triple Deluxe.
  10. What are you talking about? I posted it in- (sees where the topic is hosted)
  11. Oh no...I posted this topic in the wrong subject...sorry guys...
  12. We're all gamers here, amiright? I mean we're all here becuase we love Sonic. And I was curious about all of our different tastes in games. So I suggest we all list some of our favorties games. You can list any you want, either as a list from least to best, or even in no particular order. Just talk a little bit about why you love the game. I'm starting by listing my own Top 10 favorite games, up to my favorite. 10. Sonic Adventure My favorite Sonic game, almost tied with Sonic 3. I love each level, all very unique and well desgined, the music is incredible, and I enjoy every character in this game. Yes, I even kinda like Big's levels. 9. Cave Story I typically have difficulty with Metroidvanias, but Cave Story strikes a good balance of linear and non-linear. The world in this game is interesting too, and it's fun to learn more about it's lore as you play. 8. Pokémon Heartgold and Soulsilver The remakes of my favorite generation of Pokemon. Brilliantly crafted, a soundtrack that will never leave my head, great new Pokemon designs, and it has two regions for the price of one. 7. Super Mario Galaxy Mario Galaxy feels so grand. It rasies the steaks and shows off some of Nintendo's most creative ideas. Not to mention that it boasts my second favorite soundtrack in gaming. (You'll see my favorite soon) 6. Batman: Arkham City The Arkham games are my favorite incarnation of Batman, mixing how dark the movies and comics can be while still being a tiny bit tounge in cheek. The game also has a very Metroidvania feel despite being 3D, making it fun to explore the city. 5. Undertale I know Undertale is the big indie fad right now (Well, the GOOD indie fad at least), but upon playing this game, I can see why. More than any other game, this one makes me feel like I'm on an adventure, like I'm befriending these monsters and actually helping them. And that freakin' soundtrack...my favorite music in all of gaming. 4. Kirby: Planet Robobot Again, a bit recent, but here me out. Originally, I placed Kirby Super Star in this slot for it's strong points. But after really evaluating Robobot, this game feels...nearly perfect. The level design, the bosses, even the minigames. When I start playing this game, I get addicted. 3. Rayman: Origins This game is too underrated. The UbiArt engine is such a great gaming engine, letting the devs create a beautiful, goofy world. It's difficult, but very fair as well, and the contols are so smooth too. 2. Pikmin My only foray into real time strategy games. The Pikmin trilogy is so fanastic, but the first is my favorite for the atmosphere, sense of urgency, and puzzles. And my favorite game of all time is... *drumroll* 1. Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo 3DS & Wii U They're similar enough to count as one game. Smash Bros has given me the best experiences of any game, playing by myself or with friends, it's not only a great fighting game, but a great fighting game that features nearly all of my favorite characters from the medium. Well, those were my choices. Anyone else want to share their favorites? You can list them from least to most or in no particular order, remmeber. Just please shed some light on WHY you love them too.
  13. It's fantastic for many reasons, particularly the film's main message. See it soon if you can.
  14. I suppose I should fill out the whole board, actually. Favorite Generation: Gen 2. A perfect blending of new and old. Favorite Game: SoulSilver. A perfected version of Gen 2. Favorite Rival: Silver. Aside from some of the later rivals, he was the first to get real character development as her grew from a heartless asshole to someone who could geunienly care for his Pokemon. Favorite Gym Leader: Flannery. Her design is the one that sticks out the most, and her ORAS personality is cute. Favorite Professor: Juniper. The professors have never been very interesting to me. I just like her design best because she's the only girl pf them all. Favorite Champion: Steven. The first champion I ever fought and beat. It was a geunine twist for me when he was revealed to be the Champion, and he got more interesting in OR/AS. Favorite Villian: Archie and Maxie, because it was interesting to have different main villians in each version. Favorite Starters: Gen 1: Charizard, because I find him the most useful in gameplay. Gen 2: Typhlosion, because he looks cool. Gen 3: Sceptile, I used to dislike his design, but it grew on me. Overall, the Gen 3 starters sren't that cool for me. Gen 4: None. I'll explain later. Gen 5: Samurott, again because he looks cool. Gen 6: Braixen. I don't really like Delphox, it's too much for me. If we're going for fully evolved, Greninja. Gen 7: Litten. Cats are my favorite animal, and I love nearly all the Cat Pokemon designs. Favorite Eeveelution: Sylveon, because of the mystery surrounding it when it was announced and for introudcing me to how broken Fairy Pokemon were in my playthrough. Favorite Legendary: Mewtwo. This is the Pokemon thay introduced me to Pokemon, through The First Movie. It was my dream as a kid to catch one in LeafGreen and SoulSilver and to unlock him in Smash Bros Melee because he's so badass. Favorite Pseudo-Lgendary: Goodra. It's just cute. I'm not into most Pseudo Legendaries. Favorite Overall Pokemon: Banette. Mainly thanks to it's Pokedex entry, stating that it's a living doll, with a grudge against the child who disposed of it. I had lots of stuffed toys as a kid and I sympathize with it because of that. Plus, it's Mega Evolution is kickass, despite being one of the worst stat wise. Least Favorite Generation: Gen 4. Most of the Pokemon designs are awful, and the gameplay is unbearably slow. Least Favorite Game: Pearl. It turned me off from Gen 4. Least Favorite Rival: Brendan/May. No personality whatsoever, just blandness. Least Favorite Professor: Elm. I just never really was a fan of him for some reason. Least Favorite Gym Leader: Brawly. I was stuck on this guy for the longest time and hated fighting his Pokemon, and he was only the second Gym Leader in that Gen. Least Favorite Champion: Diantha, even though I don't hate her. Least Favorite Villain: Lysandre. Poor writing. Least Favorite Starters: Gen 1: Venasaur, only because I don't like him quite as much as the other two. Gen 2: Meganium. Uselss. Gen 3: Blazekin. Overrated as hell. Gen 4: All of them. I hate most of the Gen 4 designs. Gen 5: Self Cooking Bacon for everyone!!! Gen 6: Chesnaught, but not by much. He's still really cool. Gen 7: Popplio, again, not by much. He's still cute. Overall least favorite Pokemon: Unown. The movies hyped it up to be w fucking amazing Pokemon and when I caught it, it was worthless. Pokemon that deserves a type change: I dunno. I guess I want Jigglypuff to be fully Fairy? Pokemon that deserves a Mega Evolution: Raichu. Pikachu is great and all, but his popularity has made Raichu woefully underrated. Raichu needs to be put in the spolight for once.
  15. I thought that name was familiar. Nice to have you, buddy!
  16. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.
  17. Nice, always love a Pokemon game. Except Gen 4. Sorry to everyone who likes it, but it's too slow for my liking. My favorite Generation is Gen 2, primarily because of it's amazing soundtrack, great new Pokemon designs, and how much new things it did while still staying similar to Gen 1's roots. My favorite Pokemon is Banette. It's not the best Pokemon, though I think it's Mega Evolution is the strongest non-legendary Ghost Type, but I love both its normal design and Mega design and I find it sympathetic because of it's PokeDex entry. (It's the vengeful spirit of a stuffed doll thrown away by its owner)
