  1. I did not see a topic for this, so I decided to make one after seeing this video: A little digging unearthed that FunPlus is a massive scam company now hiding behind name of Century Game (since so many people learned how badly they scammed people). This CNET article reported that Zhongji Holding, a company based in Shanghai that doesn't make video games, bought DianDian Interactive, a subsidiary of FunPlus back in 2014 for nearly 1 billion dollars. 25 complaints about their games (mostly King of Avalon and Guns of Glory) were posted here.
  2. I'm kinda surprised that he admitted that Green Knuckles lasting so long was the result of poor planning on his part. (As for Manak, I didn't like his art very much either :p)
  3. I've heard that too, and I vaguely recall that "hardware issues" was the most popular theory as to why it was split into 2 games. According to the Wiki entry, They were later re-released together in the enhanced remake Ys I & II (1989) The source that was referenced is now a broken link but the interview page still works. I'll have to do some more digging; haven't come across any official reason/statements yet.
  4. Can't deny that, but there were things going on at Archie Comics before the lawsuit. I found a pretty good article about the whole situation. K.P. was notorious for not getting along with other writers:
  5. Yikes! The years haven't been kind to him o.O; Gotta admit that the Princess Sally mini was a turning point for the series, and I like the darker tone (more like Sat AM than AoStH). I also recall that a lot of the posters on Ken's messageboard were female fans. He may have done a lot for the comic, but he was also a big part of the reason it all went to crap - I think that his lawsuit was the final nail in Archie Sonic's coffin.
  6. Thanks 4 the advice; now I just need time to follow it. BTW, already knew what gesture drawings were, but that was from a class I took over 20 years ago
  7. Unfortunately, no; just haven't had the time (or inspiration) to just sit down & draw 😛 {edit: maybe some suggestions could help? Something like MoKat doing something silly? Or re-visit an old drawing from my fanart page?}
  8. Yeah, definitely; and check out their overreaching use policy:
  9. More of Blizzard being evil, and software company shenanigans in general: A Recording of 800 People Being Fired (Game Dev is a disaster )
  10. Safe travels to everyone traveling for the holidays! And safe surfing to everyone shopping online ;)

  11. Claire Voyance? Really? That sounds more like a character from Carmen Sandiego than Sonic
  12. I agree. As Chris pointed out in an episode of China Uncensored, Trey Parker and Matt Stone used that episode to vent their frustration at Hollywood & commercial self-censorship in order to appease the CCP & chase Chinese money. *posts the episode of China Uncensored* Blizzard and Apple Kowtow to China—But Not South Park
  13. I'm not a big fan of South Park, but I loved this episode! {Edit: "Video unavailable"; of course it is. *finds a reaction video* South Park - 23x2 Band in China - Group Reaction (*language warning*) Also, life imitates art - ‘South Park’ banned from Chinese internet after ‘Band in China’ episode [NY Post]} What did you guys think of it? (btw, probably NSFW; after all it's South Park)
  14. Shame on Blizzard for kissing CCP butts! >.< {edit: at least some of the employees have the guts to say "this is wrong"}
  15. *nods* Stupid stuff like that is one of many reasons I did not care much for Karl Bollers' run on Archie StH 😛 I see their relationship in a similar light. Heh, Naugus seemed to really enjoy shifting Julian's head into random things in "The Void"
  16. I think you just put your finger on what really bothered me about the series, Mike. Given the tendency for fans to explore " what could have been ", I wouldn't rule that out, Red.
  17. The jist of the chapter focuses on showing empathy. Specifically, instead of just telling someone to "calm down", the book suggests reassuring the subject that things will improve. Of course, this requires you to put on a calm face & demeanor.
  18. I never had an N64, but I played Goldeneye 007 with a friend a few times. Digital Trends has a few ideas about "The best N64 games of all time" https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/best-n64-games/ I've heard a lot of good things about Jet Force Gemini and while I've played Bomberman, I really don't know how Bomberman 64 compares to it.
  19. Way cool video! Thanks for sharing. For whatever reason, I cannot download it though >.< Yes, and that's a retro game I still appreciate ;D {Edit: BTW, my S3 + S&K "Boss Guide" is still up at Tripod}
  20. I love this comment from Ohshima-san : He does not
  21. I started reading "Verbal Judo: The Gentle Art of Persuasion" (George J. Thompson & Jerry B. Jenkins). So far, it makes sense - especially the chapter titled "Eleven Things Never to Say to Anyone". The authors noted how telling somebody to "calm down" often results in that person doing just the opposite.
  22. Got a chance to re-visit an old drawing (I posted the old pic, then the new sketch):
  23. I agree; that's why it rubbed me the wrong way. I was thinking along those lines, but you stated it more eloquently that I would have. That was an interesting study; thank you for sharing, Red. I wasn't looking to open a new topic, but as I said before it didn't seem to fit any existing ones.
  24. Same here. I've never been wild about platforming games, so it wasn't the games that drew me into the fandom. SatAM, especially its cast of characters, is what really drew me in-for better or worse. That was one of the few shows I was willing to get up early on Saturdays to watch.
