  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/37255025/lindsay-lohans-case-against-rockstar-games-over-gta-picture-dismissed It's great to see an instance where these trolling court cases gets thrown out. They better have gotten her to pay for wasting the court's time; there's too many people like her that abuse the system and waste taxpayer money.
  3. Great video and find; I really like the way he looks at stuff on the positive. I really, really wish I had his enthusiasm for the upcoming film, but 23 years of history makes me doubtful. Anyway, I don't want to put a black cloud over this discussion, so I will try to share in the positivity and enthusiasm.

  5. Greetings! Welcome to the site. I'm a fan of Knight Rider too; the original.
  6. Can't wait for this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Discovery I love it that they are revisiting the unused concepts for the Enterprise refit made by Ralph Mcquarrie and Ken Adam for the new U.S.S. Discovery.
  7. I figured I'd go ahead and make a thread for people to vent about things in gaming they would want to change, but also things that they believe is positive about the current state of gaming. Anything goes that is gaming related. http://playstationenthusiast.com/article/why-isnt-online-free-for-consoles/ I'll start with one that I find a bit puzzling; two of the main console companies putting online play behind a paywall: Xbox Live, and PSN+. Why do the users of these consoles, myself included, pay upward of $60 a year for it when Nintendo and PC are free? For me personally, the reason I pay for PSN+ is for the free games and the server storage of my saved games/files, which I find pretty equitable; also, all the extra discounts you get with it. However, since opening a Steam account, which is free that also gives me cloud saves and files and such, plus games with even more discounts, it makes me question my spending an extra $60 a year for it. Anyway, wot are some of your peeves/praises of the gaming industry?
  8. Streets of Rage is a definite classic. Another Beat-em-up I played a lot back in the day was Final Fight; we had an arcade machine in a local restaurant and I pumped countless quarters in that guy. I eventually got it on the Super Nintendo, but it wasn't as good. The "World" edition arcade is by far the best; The U.S. localization was censored horridly.
  9. Yes, I have it on my PS3. It's a fun little beat-em-up; and I especially like the cameos of Binky and Bongo from Life in Hell.
  10. That is so good; a lot of preparation and hard work went into that one. Now we need Der Ring des Nibelungen in Klingon; Wagner would be a perfect match for Klingon.
  11. I remember playing that one; one of the early arcade flight sims. The arcade version almost ripped my arm out of its socket from the force feedback; I was quite little at the time. Anyway, for the 1990s PlayStation era the game Alundra will always have a special place in my heart.
  12. Greetings! Excellent to have you here.
  13. No, made for TV movies are fine, but the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon was a 1/2 hour show, not a movie. And there's a section for it; I didn't make the organization of the site, you and a couple others did; I'm just enforcing it. And there is a forum for it. And the Dragonlance movie was fine, just not great. It would remind you somewhat of the animated Lord of the Rings from back in the 70s. It's a very good movie with interconnecting stories; it's incredible all around, especially the music.
  14. I remember seeing it when I was really little; it wasn't bad per se, but it was by no means top end material. I will say this about it, it wasn't merely a tie-in or a glorified commercial for the game; it was more of the tv stations taking advantage of the game's popularity, but it bore little resemblance to the game. But this would be a discussion for the Television thread, not the animated movie thread.
  15. I noticed that we really needed a thread like this to talk about old games we love. Here's one I'll always remember playing a lot in the late 80s and through the 90s: Impossible Mission! And no, it has nothing to do with the TV/Film series Mission Impossible. I have a lot of fond memories playing it and its sequel.
  16. Very happy to make your acquaintance and to have you on board our site.
  17. It's been a few weeks since I did my last one of these, (or anyone else for that matter; [hint, hint, nudge, nudge]), so I'm happily moving on to talking about another animated movie that most on here may or may not remember. Rock & Rule is somewhat of a stinker to most, but it has a lot of charm and many funny parts to make up for the cringe-worthy instances. It was the first full, feature length animated film done by Nelvana, but definitely did not live up to expectations and is actually a bit of a difficult film to find copies of, but they are out there and it does have a definite following of loyal fans. An interesting piece of trivia here: Nelvana passed on working on the animated classic "Heavy Metal" to work on Rock & Rule instead. Anyway, this is one I have to admit I did not know about its existence until quite recently even though it was released all the way back in '83; better late than never, and I'm certainly glad I did. In this one it's a futuristic post-nuclear war Earth where people have mutated to have animalistic features, which also leads me to another piece of trivia: In the Star Wars Clone Wars they put an Easter Egg in a few episodes. They a planet named "Nelvaan" after the company Nelvana, which had animal-like inhabitance like in Rock & Rule. Okay, enough of that I guess. As you would guess by the title, music has a lot to do with the entire show and follows a "making of the band" story line that ends in saving the world. One of the biggest draws for this movie is the amazing soundtrack featuring original songs form big name acts such as Lou Reed, Cheap Trick, Debora Harry, Iggy Pop, and Earth Wind & Fire amongst others. Sadly, no soundtrack has not been released as far as I know, which makes watching the movie all that more of a treat, especially the final song "Send Love Through" featuring Deborah Harry and Robin Zander. Most of the film's detractors were mostly from the far-fetched and totally absurd plot devices, poorly planned and developed characters, and some deux-ex machina in a few places. Despite this, in my opinion this is still a great little film and definitely worthy of its cult status.
