  1. or Would be fine. Seriously though, I'd personally like it more SatAM. Maybe Sonic holding a power ring? Like that kind of.
  2. Of course, Balance of Terror. http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Balance_of_Terror Which, I believe the writers of Star Trek took from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balance_of_terror
  3. Other than the Humphrey the Hamster books to my son, I've been reading more Arthur C. Clarke. Tales of Ten World; ten delightful short science fiction stories.
  4. Okay, it sounded like everyone liked the idea of making a thread dedicated to smoothing out where each episode of season ,1 and later perhaps season 2, would go. So far we have: 1. Heads or Tails - The pilot episode with many new 2. Sonic Past Cool - The feel of this one is very child like and you can tell that the FF are learning the ropes. 3. (4) Sonic Boom (thanks for the input Ishpar!) - With the passing or robotization of cat we see the FF passing the torch to the next generation 4. (3) Harmonic Sonic - Other than the pilot, this one fits the rest of SatAM the least in many aspects. Did Sonic and Rotor eat some bad mushrooms with their fish? Who knows. 5. Sonic and Sally - Shows the first real seriousness of their relationship going beyond courtly love/infatuation. 6. Sonic Racer - Really, this episode could be anywhere mid season. We see them sabotaging Robotnik's hydroelectric energy production. 7. Hooked on Sonics - Sonic and Sally's relationship blossoms; Antoine's jealousy hits a crescendo. Also, we learn more about ring generation and that Robotnik can use their energy, which he seems to nee. 8. Warp Sonic - We understand that a stone powers a machine that creates the rings. Sonic gets too clingy as does Antoine; Sally rebuffs them. 9. Sub Sonic - Robotnik still extracting oil and at a voracious rate 10. Super Sonic - First encounter with "Magic" and an active crystal (Lazaar's computer) 11. Sonic and the Secret Scrolls - After the encounter with Lazaar, Sally looks into the legend of the scrolls; as does Robotnik. 12. Sonic's Nightmare - This shows Sonic's inner demons coming into play; specifically not being able to save his friends and family, including Uncle Chuck. 13. Ultra Sonic - Oil is being depleted and Robotnik is needing another energy source; active crystals. Also, we find Uncle Chuck for the first time, which is something Sonic would not be willing to let go, which would lead to Sonic Conversion; episode 2 of season 2. Anyway, discuss!
  5. I can tell by the character designs, animation, and overall mood of the episodes that the first ones, in my opinion, were: Heads or Tails, Sonic Past Cool, and Harmonic Sonic. After that it gets a bit more difficult. The next one I'd put in would be Hooked on Sonics, mostly based on the feel of the episode and the brighter colours used. Then I'd either go with Sub Sonic or Sonic Racer; they were still getting darker, but there was some light-hearted elements to them that didn't make sense: we're fighting for our lives and we partake in an obvious race? Yeah right. Also I'd put Sonic Racer as the fifth episode because of the similarities to the main McGuffin: Sabotaging the hydro plant and what is seen in the intro we all know and love. It was at least in script/storyboard form at the time the intro was done. After that I'd put Super Sonic and then Warp Sonic. At that point it pretty much lines up with Season 2. We might have to make this a thread in and of itself: organizing season 1.
  6. I've given it a couple weeks, so I'll go ahead and post another one. I really want others to post special animated features some might or might not remember; it's a delight share reminiscing. Alright, anyway, the second one I'm going to talk about is one I haven't seen for a long time; probably since I was less than 4 years old, so I don't remember as much about it and should go and find it. It was a few years old when I saw it and I believe it was on television because we did not have a VCR yet. The film was Banjo: The Woodpile Cat, it was an earlier Don Bluth picture about the misadventures of a troublesome kitten who gets himself into a lot of trouble; runs away from home, which is where the adventure begins. Despite the film's shortness and the fact that Don Bluth and a handful of people made this film during the late 1970s in his garage; it turned out quite nice. It's amazing to think that less than a decade later we'd have The Secret of NIMH, American Tail, as well as The Land Before Time coming from this same team that put this together in their spare time whilst working for Disney on other projects. Actually, he and 17 other animators eventually got fed up with Disney and walked out so they could put their full attention to this film. This caused Disney's Fox and the Hound to be delayed. It's also of interest that only, I believe, The Great Mouse Detective and Oliver and Company were the only anthro/furry cartoons to come out since until Brother Bear in '03 as well; correct me if I'm wrong of course. Add that to the fact that furry/anthro is the majority that Don Bluth's team has made and you can see whom it was that liked animal animation at Disney. Anyway, in another week or so I'll post another one if no one else has.
  7. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36736006 I'm not sure about this; they are changing an integral character to match the life of the actor who originally played him. I think this is a travesty to the character who was the only real family man amongst the characters. George Takai is an awesome actor and he portrayed the character to the best of his acting ability; he did not force his sexuality on the character or rub it in the faces of the fans. I fear, as with almost all characters who "come out of the closet," that Sulu will become a much less dynamic character and his "sexuality" will take a prominent role in the character. I hope I'm wrong and they treat it like they did him being a family man in the original; kind of low-key, but there.
  8. http://www.screengurus.com/2016/07/07/valve-determined-ruin-steam-platform/ I have my own opinions and stance on this, but I don't want to set a mood. Please discuss this and all topics concerning Steam/PC Gaming.
  9. I have to say that I like this short narrative quite a bit thus far. The descriptions are rich and, in a similar way Akira Kurosawa and Sergio Leone would do with their movies, you let the physical aspects tell the story instead of dialogue, which I like a lot. Body language, setting, as well as atmosphere can be among the writer's greatest tools; and you use them quite well. And when you used dialogue/monologue it worked great to support the story. The only issue I had with the story is that it left me with a lot of questions concerning the main character and the world she resides, which from what I can gather was intentional as it being part of a greater story. (Perhaps more coming later?) Anyway, I really like wot I'm reading and like your writing style. I really hope you grace us with some more!
  10. I've got the last 2 on the DVR; just not interested or bored enough to watch them. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-36707010

  12. Even at that Tracy Yardley and Spaz have always done well no matter that direction du jour. Though I will say I'm partial to the issues 20-75 and then the more detailed ones in the 100-159 era. http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/archiesonic/images/5/5d/Sally_futureversion01.png/revision/latest?cb=20090811052203 My favourite style. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/archiesonic/images/f/f7/SallyAcorn02.png/revision/latest?cb=20100201034423 My second favourite style. My third favourite style, by Tracy Yardley.
  13. I never liked that art style from 134 era; a few comics had it and the overly cartoonyness and exaggerated squash and stretch was too much. Heck, even the first 15-18 issues of the comic was better drawn at times, and it was meant to be slapstick and cartoony, like from AoStH.
  14. I agree, you can tell the first season was a jumble, Sonic Past Cool and Harmonic Sonic are more like the pilot, Heads or Tails, and come at the end and middle of the season respectively. Those episodes have a similar feel and artwork to the pilot, whilst ones like Sonic Boom, Sonic's Nightmare, Super Sonic, and Sonic and the Secret Scrolls are more alike than they are to Sonic Past Cool and Harmonic Sonic. Also, I've found that season 1 is not as focused in a story arc throughout as is in the second season, but there are some things that carry on from episode to episode. And as an added bonus, like how Paramount did with Star Trek and The Next Generation, this makes each episode self-contained Any person who has never seen another episode can watch any episode of the first season and not need to catch up or feel lost, but for the most part the same is true of the second season, but to a lesser degree.
  15. I'm not normally one for the official material, but I was asked to make this thread for a place the site members can discuss facts, opinions, and other aspects of those who make the Archie Cannon of Sonic. With all the Penders/Flynn bashing going on I would like to make it clear that you should make a constructive argument, not to come off emotionally half-cocked. Let's get make some great points here and show what the real Sonic fandom can discuss. Do not limit this to character portrayals or bad/good writing and direction, but also the artwork through the years and such.
  16. Welcome, the first of RedStranger's real life flesh and blood friends! Great to have you aboard.
  17. That is wot I thought of when I saw the title.
