  1. https://youtu.be/sBbTD2swkN8 So apparently to the creator of F-Zero, and Nintendo, they don’t see anything new for the franchise. This famous series has been on a long sabbatical, and it’s main character has been relegated to punching in Smash more than racing. Do you think he is wrong? What are new things that could be done with the famous thousand-kilo, gravity-bending sci-fi racer? And should a franchise have to necessarily radically innovate on game mechanics constantly rather than just expanding on graphics, vehicles, ect? After all, the last one we were playing was on a CRTV...could use at least an HD remix with fully fleshed modern CGI FMV campaign-stories. To fans, F-Zero is more than a tech demo, it had a story, a lore, and world with characters fans want to enjoy again. Is Nintendo missing something here?
  2. Perhaps integrating such an app with this new game is the plan? It would be like the original with the Tamagachi-esque usage of the Dreamcast memory stick.
  3. Yes. And I guess it’s our duty to reach out to those people.
  4. I wonder if any fans will keep it going in some form or fashion. After all, what could have been is something that at least a good handful of people would take time to investigate in game hacks, fan-fics, ect.
  5. I got F Zero X and played it on my CR. It looks great in the original format. Got a perfect score first go around on the Jack cup. Glad to see I have not lost my touch. Any N64 games you guys recommend?
  6. Just got finished with school for the year. Four studio classes equals tons of work. I probably did around thirty projects in a span of a few months. Official grade reports have not come out yet - but it looks promising. :) Already know I got A’s in both my Painting Classes.

  7. Finally got time to play Resident Evil Outbreak on PlayStation 2, all on a CRTV I bought in a yard sale . Brought me back to my childhood. There is some unique aesthetic to the CR that really brings out the PS2’s graphics and not just in resolution, the colors seem more rich and the image less flat. Retrogames just look like blown up mud on a HD without something like a framemiester.
  8. Happy Thanksgiving! God bless you and yours this holiday. Feel free to talk about your favorite foods, family moments, and what you are thankful for in the Holiday thread. :)

  9. Turns out Stan was working on one final superhero before he passed. Someone called Dirtman (yeah, I know - sounds like an off color pun given the situation). https://news.sky.com/story/stan-lee-was-working-on-final-superhero-dirt-man-with-daughter-before-his-death-11554021 I thank Lee for his service for this country and then the service that followed for our culture. He gave us his blood, sweat, and then ink. It’s amazing to be a man who fights for his country; it’s outstanding to see that same man come from war to build up his country. That is the zenith of patriotism; not to merely break down obstacles but to build promise. He is a great example for modern veterans. Despite the horrors of war, you can turn your sword into a plowshare.
  10. So my portfolio has been reviewed...I got accepted into the BFA program, for both concentrations.

  11. Yet ironically has no character, just a couple of shiny macguffins and ridiculous powers to fill up a hollow character arc. Metal Sonic is the biggest waste in all the franchise. He could have been an somewhat interesting concept for a few games and comics - but he’s both fetal in his development yet tired and old in his over use.
  12. @SonicSatamX93 1: How would you write the old guard of the Freedom Fighter's last stand against Robotnik before either being killed, captured/roboticized or even forced to flee and hide after he takes over? And when I say old guard, I mean characters like Sonic's parents, Tails' parents, The Wolf Pack, etc? As a Writer, I would say give them a problem, a conflict, they resolved to make the current FF and Knothole's culture possible. It would make sense that they would have a lot of political and ideological baggage to overcome to create unity in the face of Robotnik. These flawed characters happened to overcome those internal conflicts, unlike the rest of Mobian society, to overcome the Coupe. As for the Wolf Pack, perhaps overcoming xenophobia and isolationism, then overcoming the tragedy of loosing their chief, having Lupe take charge in a divisive power-struggle. Make each proto-FF fighter go through a crucible that helps make their respective sons and daughters able to stand high on a firm foundation. Their individual and unique sacrifices should lead to a promise, a hope, that makes the current FF what it is today. They are in black pitch of hopelessness, with demons without and within. Show or at least imply that the stakes were brutal, akin to Walking Dead, post-apocalyptic. Yet they give their all to make the spark that gives us the more black-against-white, adventure-against-evil tone of Satam. They are basically the Rouge One to Star Wars: A New Hope. I would love to see how you would apply this idea above to the individual characters respectively. 2: How would you write Snively's character overall? Would you make him about as evil as his uncle, but maybe more cunning in some regards? Would you make him a bit of a sympathetic villain expounding on his past, explaining why he did what he did when joining Julian in helping further his regime? Or would you do something different with him entirely? It's in his name - make him fight more on the FF's terms. He's cloak and dagger, and back-stabby. He's the Cardassian to Robotnik's Klingon. Snively does not have the charisma to take over the room and overtly overpower you. He's introspective and introverted. He uses more soft-power techniques. Where Robotnik is the arrogant genius blind to his follies, perhaps Snively's overanalytical and back-biting nature leads to his downfall. One has the power to plow through intrigue with force of charisma and overt power plays, one can spin a web of intrigue, yet can easily get caught up in that web.
  13. [I will throw my two cents in soon on these. First I got to apply my portfolio for the BFA for painting and printmaking today at college. Wish me luck!]
  14. To be honest, I think Harari’s historical analysis is intellectually dishonest. He equivocates massively a use of the term “Liberalism” conflating it with postmodern liberalism (Positive Rights) and Classical Liberalism (Libertarianism/Negative Rights). His position is ideologically romanticized and oversimplified. He posits that there is some magical contiguous political philosophy, frankly more like a religion, called “Liberalism” (though the positions he sites have very different spins on what that term is defining. The irony is that the die hard Modern American conservatives are actually Classical Liberals, who are opposed heavily by modern liberals in regards to trade regulation, economic interventionism, and unilateral mitigation of trade by global organizations. The irony is that conservatives believe in the “Christian myth” of autonomy of the individual in the political realm more than Harari does, a liberal who believes we are just reorganized pond scum. Harari also does not admit that Fascism is the weeds on his side of the idealogical fence. What we are really seeing here is a cognitively dissonant man trying to piece together his disjointed postmodern, relativist philosophy with some clean cut unified theory, all after realizing the devestating effects of his intellectual certainty in uncertainty, which has lead to the tribalist Gentelian politics of today. Flip the color of the people, and you get white supremicism. People like David Duke actually love the exact policies the Gaurdian loves to tease in their articles, like Universal Healthcare (for “white” people). It’s still Gentelian politics, just favoring a different tribe. But what do you expect when you defect from “The Christian myth?” You dehumanize what means to be human. When you assume there is no soul, nothing beyond the shifting ephemeral flesh of man, then there is no reason to believe in the individual having import, let alone any form of equality. We are biologically determined, pond scum with fatalist destiny towards an absurdist end. Personally, I think he has two choices - embrace biological determinism and fascism honestly. “I was born that way” must be a worldview that goes all the way, or be denied. We may have genetic influences, yet according to both epigenetics and Christian theology we are responsible for the way we express our genes and falling to temptations caused by our nature, marred by original sin. This man must intellectually honestly embrace his materialistic worldview, that the fittest of us in mental and physical constitution should govern by authoritarian force. Or...he could perhaps doubt his doubts in the spiritual and question his faith in humanism, which has lead him to combat with a very ironically anti-human philosophy. Some things to consider - http://www.hawaii.edu/PCSS/biblio/articles/2010to2014/2013-transsexuality.html —- I would consider opening up a Nature vs Nurture Topic in the Dialogue section.
  15. I broadened this topic to include any and all references, influences, and allusions to other artistic and literary works. Similar “AIR” threads will soon be opened up for other Sonic-Canons across the the site. Please continue to discuss any influences from other media you see on SatAM.
  16. In honor of the 25th anniversary, we are going to reveal more of the EoT episodic novels we have been writing. We are also continuing and promoting some Satam-centric RP's to play inside. We may also open up a Satam-centered art contest. But first! We all wanted to ask you to share your personal experience of Satam and how its positively affected you.
  17. I would think that Mobians physiology would change how they interact with their environment, and thus would shape all elements of their societies in radically different ways. For example artic-adapted Mobians could live in biomes humans could only muster nomadic tribes inside, given their ability stay under artic water to forage and perhaps create aquaculture. I would think Rotor's race and its aquatic affinity would be able to build a whole nation in the expanse of somewhere as "dead" as the northern Canadian islands.
  18. Given the size of Robotropolis and that not every building looks like a factory. Do you think that Robians have any needs? Do you think Robotnik maintains his work force in anyway? @Mike Arcade
  19. I know what you mean. My summer has been crazy as well...with literal crazies. XD
  20. Looks like I won my war with the crazy neighbors. Thanks to some sleuthing, a drone, and some dedicated note taking, and bearacratic wrestling, The Judge Executive himself has stepped in and now the whole neighborhood is getting a major clean up. Everyone who let their place go is being forced to clean up, or face charges. The druggies are now buried under heaps of fines and the watchful eyes of Drug-task Force. My report also got a kid out of a very, very, dangerous home. I will give you a play by play update sometime. But I would rather say what I am doing art wise. I am doing a lot of painting and digital art currently - going to share some this week.
