  1. The Creator of Megaman was an Illustrator mostly, correct? If so then you could have style over substance especially in constrast with the proposed crunchiness of the game mechanics. Games are not merely a "right-brain" excercise, there is a structure much like a poem.
  2. Does anyone here remember the D&D cartoon? Was it any good?
  3. Wow...sounds like it's a utter game design disaster. Basically style over substance?
  4. I would like to do some digging into the Satam game's development. I would love to get some juicy details on what the story and such was suppose to be from the developers.
  5. A response to the first, first. 1. This can work well if you want to go with a chronological approach rather than a relevatory approach like we see in Blast to The Past. Personally if I had the chance to redo Satam from scratch I would not even have Sonic be blue at the start (or Uncle Chuck), let alone have his powers. The building of his powers would mirror up his becoming a hero internally through out a a few episodes like you have sugessted. The idea can still work well with Blast to The Past as well. You can simply have loose ends that are finally unveiled from this new perspective on previously seen events. In fact, this could lead to some major plot twists and strong sense of continuity. I have already mentioned, I like the idea of showing Bunnie partially Roboticized early on in a pilot-like episode. I would prune the focus onto Sonic and not focus on Tails other than being a massive responsibility as an infant (maybe you can foreshadow some things but I would not go too far). The spotlight should be mainly on Sonic and Sally, and the failure to save Bunnie should be an extension of Sonic's character arc. Even with his new found abilities, he is humbled by the fact that he can't save the day all by himself, and internalizes some guilt over his failure to rescue Bunnie from being maimed like this. I am not sure about skipping to the Krudzu and a beefy base. I would want to keep the feeling of scarcity and disadvantage on the side of the Freedom Fighters. I would keep the timeline tight and focused mainly on the first year without too much skipping. Perhaps you can make Sonic a bit older than five too, give him more time to miss the world he lost. Perhaps he just turned 12. At the end of part three is when you would see Sonic as he is now (how you do this is up to you). Part four is when he, after nearly loosing Bunnie, relies on Sally more and they foil Robotnik's plans to simply starve out Knothole rather than waste resources he is using to fry much bigger fish (the Coupe was just the Capital; there is still government resistance from the local duchies). Robotnik at first should not care that much about Sonic other than see him as an amusing inconvenience. After defeating a smaller-time antagonist (who will be the immediate focus while Robotnik is the bigger ephemeral boogieman) and having Knothole mistaken as successfully starved out, Robotnik begins his web of intrigue the way he does in Sonic Undergound in dismantling and subverting the now decentralized remaining powers on the continent and perhaps beyond. His ideas are much grander in scope than the Freedom Fighters who are basically a mote of light in his realm of darkness he forgot to squelch. More concerned with intrigue, oilfields, mines, and resources already established around him, Knothole starts out as his blindspot. Defeating this small time villain and faking their starvation has led to a metaphorical burned-out spot, one the fires of the Coupe have already seemingly blazed through, yet everyone remains unburned. With time to bide, and vast wilds shielding them, they prepare for an asymmetrical war. __________
  6. "Alternative universe..." So this is what Corporate Suicide looks like.
  7. Maybe you could outsource - do a "How would you do Megaman?" thread on the forum.
  8. I always thought the voice acting was horrible in Pokemon. Even when I was a child I did not feel like it was a genuine dialogue both in writing and in execution. It sounded like hammy kabuki acting forced into American-English, a language from a culture that "screams in whispers" compared to the Japanese acting. There was lot of melodramatic reactions. Many times I was stopped in my tracks wondering why people were screaming like it was a normal thing of everyday life. The dialogue was actually distracting from the narrative. When it came to voice acting - what were your likes and dislikes?
  9. 1. You absolutely MUST pick up where the last poster left off; no restarting of the roleplay. You have to keep continuity. 2. You cannot post twice in a row; let someone else go before posting again. 3. Other than fixing typos/grammar there is no editing once you've posted. 4. Do not be belligerent at anyone's subsequent additions to the story; furthermore, retcons or ignoring of an addition to the story will not be tolerated. 5. Keep it PG-13 and free of anything that could make others feel needlessly uncomfortable (honor basic conduct rules). 6. No Sue-mongering. Don't try to kill each other off all that easy and try to collaborate with each other. [Bracket suggested outcomes if need be.] That's it. Besides this there is no rules, no limits on what characters you use (original or not), and what happens. I will start the scenario and you can be and do whatever, each turn the next poster is basically the GM. This is a Roleplay, and not a spaghetti-story - this is all the more about playing out a character and a concept rather than mere composition. ---------- During a climatic clash with Doctor Eggman over one of his many ovoid-themed doomsday machines, a portal opens to a grand fantasy world and they are both sucked in during the fight. They seperate in the maelstrom whilst embattled in fist-cuffs. Suddenly Eggman himself in the middle of a strange medieval village, with a town crier bellowing: "Bring out yha dead! Bring out yha dead! Two fer one deal; dump one an' we'll 'aul off the second free'a cha'ge!" Eggman spins around to realize the swirling portal knitting itself rapidly back together. He huffs and puffs, his belly jiggling as he jogged to reach it. Heaving he sprinted, only smack face first into a stone wall. He slides down and flops back-first onto the cobble stone, only to find himself surround by singed and mangled skeletons, bruised and battered, his eyes flicker under his now askew sun glass. The lost thing he hears is the hushed murmur of onlookers and the shrill shouts of the Town Crier. The Town Crier: "Oy! Boy! Get the carriage an' me Clydesdale! We got a wide meaty load, 'ere!" [What happens next? What character's show up? Where is Sonic? What happened in the village? It's your turn to roleplay characters, introduce concepts, DM. Almost anything goes!]
  10. Here is question - do you think history will ever dealt itself in this regard? Could DLC and digital distribution flood the market and repeat history?
  11. Bingo. And some teaser material will be coming out last Saturday in August. Expect some cool stuff.
  12. This seems to be more about location than character. If we merged their stories and universes, which fan-fictions can indeed do, would you be for it?
  13. I don't think a lot of what you whose to accomplish could be merely achieved by time travel and you would get arrested for having stolen BBC property.... The lack of specifics of your plans could actually have a lot more long term ill effects. My idea was to improve one company; not to attempt change all of video game and media history. I don't think you could influence all of these aspects as a single finite person and could actually end up creating a more negative timeline if you let one thing slip. For example what if Steam never happens and you end up with a Nintendo-Sony monopoly not accountable to consumer choice? Or, the union between the two actually leads to a less productive creative culture? Sony made its best material in opposition of Nintendo, not through the complacency of alliance but through competion.
  14. It's great to have you. Welcome back to the Sonic-Fandom (well the saner part of it ). Everything Sonic is here and more. We are group that loves everything you mentioned and enjoy thinking deeply about it and pushing our own creativity to the next level, even, whenever possible, beyond the official material. I hope that research goes well. American bussinesses has been doing a lot to prevent exacerbating the post-antibiotic issue. Yet I would argue we might need to sanction and tariff more reckless nations to protect our common herd-immunity by keep the global integrity of antibiotics. antibioticsMcDonald just nixed their's anti-biopics in chickens, except ionophores, which allegedly are not relevant to human infections. If this is true, then I personally think we should incentivize other nations to take the lead by making any other other option in trade unaffordable and prioritize trade with nations more anti-biotic conscious. Maybe something to look into...
  15. I think the above deserves some thoughtful responses. Does any have any commentary on each other's answers? I will allow someone else to go first.
  16. The stock stuff not that much. Only if you tried to get corporate power. --- Goog management for SEGA would probably save a lot of jobs, improve the economy, and end a lot of grief. But that would have to indeed be something to think about. It would be safer to do in the present day when you return to miimalzie alterations to the time line. But do it in the 2000's you would be influencing how many consumers spend their money, keep their jobs, and what this sub-culture would be talking about and doing.
  17. [Layla's eyes throb and she feels sickly. She realizes she might need the man's help. Her tongue is swollen from lack of water. CON Check.]
  18. I would love to see Wreck it Ralph's concepts evolve further when it comes to the IP's involved. I would to see stories more throughly weaved into more of the video game world's. Hopefully we will see more substantial material dedicated to IP's that were mostly cameoed in the first.
  19. I gave this a fresher title. I can't wait to hear people's thoughts on this - it seems like quite a diverse collection.
  20. How would you describe its message in your own words, VHS?
  21. Why the choice? ___ @Prince By-Tor What would you pick for someone close to you here, given what you know about them? And what would you be?
