  1. I still have my NES, SNES, Gamecube, and Wii, and enjoy dusting them off from time to time. I also snagged my brother's old Gameboy Color when he abandoned it. If "retro" games include those from before the current generation of consoles, then that's all I play, since the most advanced consoles I have are a Wii and a X-Box 360.
  2. We need to abolish daylight savings time....

  3. Albert Einstein vs Vlad The Impaler! You know that there are fighting games based on that one show where they used to pit history's greatest badasses against eachother and see who the computer would pick to win, right? I know that Vlad is in there, and I'm fairly sure that Abe is in one, too.
  4. I've never played Diablo or Diablo II, but I have Diablo III: Reaper of Souls: Ultimate Evil Edition. This is Gauntlet meets Borderlands, people. Effing awesome, in my opinion. The "at any time, you can replay any part of the game you've reached before" option is absolute genius. It really does a good job of being a spiritual successor to the Gauntlet games, and improving on that experience. While the story itself is rather dark, there is also a good amount of humor and snarkyness thrown in to keep things fun. And the loot generator seems to run similar to that from the Borderlands games, where you'll probably never get the exact same item again. I've never beaten it yet, but it's one of those games that makes level grinding fun. And it's one of the few X-Box 360 games that lets you do 2-4 players in co-op mode on the same console. I don't remember how much I paid for it at Wal-Mart, but it's been a good investment. Easily, one of my favorite games.
  5. My folks spent much money renting this game when I was a kid. And I spent a little snagging it from e-bay. I still love to dust it off and kill the terrorists and save the world. It's a short game, but very fun when you've got a friend to play it with. Behold: Thundercade!
  6. So, I recently picked up the Ezio Trilogy, and The Americas Collection, from Wal-Mart's "bargain wall" for $13 each. So far, I must say that I'm underwhelmed. I've played a little of AC III before realizing that it may be better to get my bearings with AC II. So, now, I've met up with Mario (the "it's-a me! Mario!" line was worth the whole $26 investment), and killed the punk who was taunting me at the beginning of the game. I've noticed that the game does seem to get a bit better with progress, but I'm wondering how far into it I have to get to achieve the "this is an awesome game" status that the series seems to have amongst its fans... At present, I can only stand to play for about an hour or 2, before I start losing interest.
  7. Fellow RPers! Get off your butts and join in on RA's RP! A forum RP can't survive as a 1-player game for very long...

  8. If you love glitches, install Skyrim to the hard drive. The X-Box's processing power isn't sufficient to handle all the stuff in the game and causes numerous infamous glitches. Running from the disc will eliminate most of these glitches, but not all of them. One that sometimes happens in Riften is that the walkway above the canal, around the market place can sometimes not spawn, causing anyone who would walk that way to fall into the canal.
  9. I really haven't gotten very far into Oblivion. The "you can't move, because you picked up one too many items!" thing is a big turn-off for me, though. Too many bad memories from NetHack... I can handle moving at snail's pace, but not being immobile. I don't have the money to get an X-Box One, so I can't test out Skyrmim: Special Edition.
  10. I'll always remember the "Catillac" from the "Catillac Cats" segments of the Heathcliff cartoon. I loved the idea of a shape-shifting jalopy that could turn into a camper and an airboat/hovercraft (in at least one episode it flies), and even modified to turn into a submarine. In related news, yesterday, I found the complete Heathcliff series on DVD at Wal-Mart. So, now I can relive and refresh my memories.
  11. And as of today, I'm back at Mom's house, and will be until next weekend.
  12. Today starts a "back at my house" week, so my appearances here will be spotty until the weekend, when I move back in down here.
  13. Put the MP3 player on Shuffle and it decided to choose: Vixen - Streets of Paradise. EDIT: Tried the experiment again and got a goofy but kinda neat song: Kenny Rogers - Planet Texas.
  14. Personally, I'm more of a Lupe fan. But Sally's certainly a good, strong character, too. I hope you have a good time here.
  15. I'd forgotten about FUS, actually... I'll deal with it, myself.
  16. Still working on The Bible. Not quite sure where I left off, though... Borderlands, Skyrim, and Fallout NV have taken up so much time...
  17. Johnny Cash - Ghost Riders In The Sky Not to be confused with the lame rendition from the Ghost Rider movie...
  18. Vlad's still here. He's just not getting to be my fursona on this site. I'm hanging out at my mom's house this week, so I'll have internet access all week. Next week, I'm back home and will be online only once every few days. I certainly hope things go well for you.
  19. Marty Robbins - Big Iron. It ties in with a train of thought involving one of the characters I'm developing.
  20. Yay! Someone else I know made it here! Good luck with the school stuff. I have to salute anyone who can handle higher education. I had 1.5 years of collage and it was awful.
  21. Meh... No point in going back in time if you can't change history... That takes all the fun out of the whole experience.
  22. Good news! I'm still alive! My old USB modem burned out on me and I still haven't been able to find a replacement. In the meantime, I've relocated my computer in town to my mom's house. My computer has wi-fi capability, but no longer has dial-up capability until I can find another USB modem. As my mom's been getting rather lonely lately, I've struck up a deal where I'll be coming down and watching the house when she's away, and sometimes spending a week in here (going back and forth to check on my dog, though). As such, I've been granted free reign of her internet. So, expect to see me trying to get back up to speed every so often. I won't be doing any serious RPing until I can get my computer back to my place. But I do have some nifty story fragments and ideas for RP stuff floating around in my head, just waiting for feedback to help them grow and connect. In other good news, I've started a preventative medicine for my Migraines, which is also helping me loose some weight, and some new meds to help with my depression. I'm having nice, vivid, awesome action-packed dreams again. Those sort of dreams tend to fuel my works a lot. I look forward to getting back into the mix, and am pleasantly surprised to see some familiar names have migrated.
  23. Cool, on all fronts. ---- The more I think about it, I think that perhaps this "you don't have permission" thing is something that happens when a topic is moved, and it takes a while for said topic to be reconstituted in a form accessible by users... So, it may just be more of a combination of "pardon our dust while we're renovating" and bad timing on the part of the user who clicked on something that's in the process of being moved. Not sure if that counts as a proper bug or not, but it may be something worth noting while we're getting the site figured out more properly.
  24. Cool. That works, now. Maybe I was just trying to click on it too early the fist time? Like what happened with the Crazespiricy Zone?
