  1. I liked this one a lot more than your first one; the banter and descriptive prose really kept me engaged. I loved how you made this one with a character driven story, which made it very easy to read, let alone to make the read actually care about the characters. My only negative critique is that it relies too much on "official" sources and not enough original ideas/work, but other than that it was a good read.
  2. I for one want to thank you so much for putting your work up to be seen and for others to read as well as being the first person to post your art and for it to be critiqued. I also want you to not take criticisms the wrong way; we are wanting to help improve the quality of original works, not tear them down. And remember, this is the opinions of your peers; so you are free to listen to advice and except instruction or to ignore us and go about your merry way. Anyway, as for this one the main strength was the descriptiveness and the flow, though in some areas the pacing could've been speed up or slowed down; the first paragraph in particular in my opinion is pointless and spoils any surprises for the reader as to the reveal of the attacker. Whilst there was some errors and typos I found nothing that really made the story difficult to understand or read. Character wise I found Mecha Sonic to be a little too overpowered and not showing any trials or tribulation; actually I got the feeling like Bruce Lee walking into a kindergarten and administering a beatdown of epic proportions. At some point I actually felt a little sorry for "Eggman" being bullied so bad, and especially I felt sorry for the others in the room; although I will say that I enjoyed reading "Cubot" and "Orbot" getting crunched, (I never liked those characters.) The final thing I have to mention is the diatribe at the end where Mecha monologues and postures, showing that he's not only the omnipotent godlike force, but also the intellectual godlike force as well. Again it's such a mismatch in power there is no suspense or conflict to keep the reader engaged; for all tense and purpose he defeated them with not even the snap of his fingers. There was many places where the characters could've had some real good development or perhaps Mecha having to break through some inner turmoil/have actual challenges. I feel that some of the original characters were short changed throughout; they were nothing more than inanimate objects for Mecha to play with; you could've easily just have him beating up on robots or stock Sega characters. To be honest I didn't find it overall enjoyable reading because of the above-mentioned issues that I've pointed out. In essence the story feels like a short CGI cut scene at the beginning of one of Sega's more recent video games; a lot of action, running, trash talking, and very little else. In some way it's like how, to use something Ian Flynn once said, he would "wipe out" a group of characters in one or two panels using a nuke; in this case it's Eggman and all of the Egg Bosses and the nuke was Mecha Sonic. One piece of advise I'd really like you to take to heart is to not get too wrapped up in "official" cannon and see it as better than an original work; you're limiting your potential in the extreme by doing so. Anyway, thanks again for the story.
  3. While I'm not a huge fan of the Sega "four characters" with interchangeable features, I like your take on it; especially the last 2.
  4. I too remember this one; and I still love it! I remember giving this one a review on one of the old sites it was posted on. Thanks for re-posting it and giving more new people an opportunity to read it.
  5. http://www.universityherald.com/articles/31823/20160615/e3-e3-2016-sony-rockstar-games-studio-red-dead-redemption-red-dead-redemption-2-red-dead-redemption-sequel-days-gone.htm Rumour has it that Red Dead 3 or was supposed to appear at the end of Sony's presser. However, the trailer supposedly opened up with a someone walking into a saloon and shooting everyone in it. After wot transpired over the weekend in Orlando they decided that it would be in very bad taste to go ahead with it, which is, if true, in my opinion was a correct move. Again, that is if the rumour is correct.
  6. As a launch PS4 buyer I'm of two minds on this; I love cool new hardware, but don't like feeling like I'm being shook down for my money. Sadly, it's the direction the industry is going. Also, in the case of the PS4 and the Xbone they launched just before a leap in processor and GPU power; if Sony and Microsoft did nothing then in four years they'd have their games look like dogmeat in comparison to the PC.
  7. A funny creeper skin I found in the Persoenliches Paket 1.9
  8. Thanks. I don't know wot it is, but to me this is cringe worthy; I'm usually that way though with my old work. I see many places where other scenes could've worked a lot better and the interlacing... ugh; it hurts my eyes. I might have to redo this one eventually.
  9. Strange character explosion in Garden Warfare 2. (I've got a few more to share, but I don't want to spam the forum.)
  10. A glitch that happened in Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. The Unicorn died on a slope in in Blackwater, but popped back up half the unicorn it used to be.

  12. I figured I would get this topic set in motion by posting a Sonic video I made some time ago: SatAM set to Pink Floyd's Welcome to the Machine. To those who haven't seen it before, enjoy! For those who have already seen it, you can watch it again and enjoy!
  13. http://pressa2join.com/news/sega-and-atlus-announce-e3-line-up Sega and Atlus have released wot's in the pipeline; Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice will have a 15 minute playable demo.
  14. Definitely an ancient topic from all forums all the way back to the beginning of the interwebz. Used to be "What's in you tape deck?" or "What's in your CD player?" So, what song are you listening to or on your mind? Here's what I'm listening to:
  15. Welp... I've been nagged for a while to introduce myself, so without further procrastinating, I'm getting around to it. Okay, enough of that... Anyway, I've been a Sonic fan since the first game came out, but as a kid I was a PC gamer and didn't own a console until about, I think 95... yeah and that was a SNES I got cheap second-hand. (At least you pick up a bunch of games cheap with it that way.) Have never bought a Sega console new or a Sonic game new; (more on that later.) Personally, I hold a Master Degree in Organizational Psychology, which I received back in '09. I'm a proud husband and father. I've been a musician since as far back as I can remember hearing my dad play the trumpet and most of all my grandfather who played everything with strings and many instruments without. I'm very eclectic in my music and listen to almost anything, but prefer a lot of progressive rock/metal and alternative rock/metal. I'm addicted to the news, documentaries and non-fiction; it drives me insane to not know wot is going on in the world. Avid coffee and cola drinker, (sugar or stevia only thank you), I adore real Mexican, Japanese, and spicy Chinese food. The only real fiction I like is Sci-Fi, (Phillip K. Dick, William Gibson, H.G. Wells, etc....), I used to be heavy into Animé, but that waned in recent year; I still love the form, but have lost interest in some of it. In my spare time I do photo restoration, I write and recently have gotten into inking and lineart. I'm a gamer and am mostly into strategy, simulation, and sandbox games; I often play with my son whenever I can. Let's see, wot else? I had a black Burmese cat, Geauideux, who recently passed away at the age of 16; I will always miss him. Right now I have two cats who have chosen me: a calico named Akuma, and a Bombay named Kuro. I grew up in the great Pacific Northwest, just a stone's throw from Canada; I guess that makes me multicultural. My mom got me into culture and fine literature, whilst my dad loved cartoons, so my tastes evolved as such and I got into cartoons, but ones that had deeper stories. Fast-forward to the early 1990s and as a young preteen I saw Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon preview the Friday night prior during TGIF. (I don't know if anyone remembers that, but it was a two hour block of prime time sitcoms that heralded in the weekend. They included such shows as Perfect Strangers (Balki and Cousin Larry), and Family Matters (Steve Urkel and Carl Winslow)) Anyway, I already liked the Sonic franchise already at this point, but when I saw the cartoon I was hooked. Also, a lot of the video games at the time on my PC were kind of the same storywise and in atmosphere, so it was perfect timing. Ever since then the show stayed with me and my artwork, writing and such, and I would say that all of my truly original works, including books have been inspired by SatAM. I was ready to buy a Genesis and later the Saturn, but then Sonic CD came out... yeah. I waited patiently for them to even acknowledge SatAM and the great IP they have there, but they'd rather do their own thing. So, long story short, I don't support what I don't like, so I've never bought a Sega console new or a Sonic game new either. Anyway, after reading many great stories, great artwork, playing the great original games and hacks as well as fan films, I've realized that I've been going to a dry well expecting water for too long, Archie and Sega are no more "true cannon" than what we, the fans have done. Everything the official channels have put out pales in comparison to what the fans have put out in the last 20+ years. And that is the reason why myself and the other members of FSoM, great best friends who I have also met through the SatAM/Sonic fandom, have made this forum, a place for artists, writers, animators, and programmers to connect, brainstorm, show off, and peer review their original works to hopefully bring the attention it deserves without the negative aspects of the Sonic fandom to beat them down. I think that's all, so, there ya go. Take it easy and Big Blessings!
  16. PSN (PS3, PS4): Amalcheon Steam: Prince By-Tor
  17. A couple of GTA 5 glitches I had happen. Michael's Corquette's rear not rendering and Trevor "phasing" through a blue tarp.
  18. Accidentally hit a barricade whilst doing a touring car race in GT5; the car spun wildly and I ended up in first place, flying over the pack.
  19. Aww, we now have Stranger and his Puppy Love on here... I suppose I should be next to introduce myself. I'll have that done latter today.
