  1. https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-official-sonic-the-hedgehog-insight-editions/1143030377 Officially out now, Amy's Fortune Cards! No seriously, they recreated the designs from Sonic Origins and are available now. That is pretty darn wild to see this happen, heck one of the designs is the Angel Stature from Sonic CD! While I'm of course not a fan of such cards, I hope this opens the door for more in-universe stuff like this. Although I'd prefer something from outside the games personally XP
  2. That is all my bad, but now we do so I’m glad to bring in the fun. :)
  3. Wanted to make a general Rom Hack and Mods topic, and what better way to start off with Smash Bros 64! Surprisingly in recent year or so, we've gotten an extensive Smash 64 mod, adding in a TON of characters from other Smash Entries, as well as other series that didn't get a chance to shine in Smash Bros. Most noticeably, we got an Adventure era Sonic with a Classic alt, including a playable Super Sonic! This one also has Conker from Conker's Bad Fur Day of all titles (which I'm pretty happy with), and recently we got Marina from the obscure, but loved Treasure title Mischief Makers! King Dedede from Kirby was also recently added, sporting his Kirby 64 look (a personal favorite design if I may say). Seriously, check this out, and if you have any other kind of Hacks and Mods outside of Sonic you know, please share with us what awesome things are out there!
  4. I've heard it's been extremely messy, to be honest I'd be surprised if the game turns out well. Which is sad, because I'm all for a System Shock Remake.
  5. So, this is coming out! Revealing the new major antagonist of the films for right now...yeah! ...sorry guys, I figured I'd post this up but I can't be excited for it. Not just because it's MCU and that's gone so far downhill it's become a punching bag, but it's Antman folks. Antman, whose probably gonna die at the end of this film to make way for his daughter stepping in as her own hero for some outdated corporate executive reason.
  6. We certainly have a lot of games coming out this year. I'm quite interested to see how the System Shock Remake will end up considering how long in development it's been, not to mention the new Legend of Zelda. There's not too much I am personally excited for, although it would be nice to check out Street Fighter 6 and how that starts off. I know there's a LOT of controversy going on regarding Ubisoft though.
  7. A underrated fan favorite Neo Geo fighter (not made by SNK or any of it's 2nd Party developers at that time, mind you) has come out for all consoles and PC with all the bells and whistles fighting fans love. Thought it would be neat to point out, for as obvious and rather tropey these characters are, it's still a very solid title.
  8. https://www.alternacomics.com/ https://rippaverse.com/ Just wanted to update the Alterna Comics link that was dead up above, they are still VERY active and have plenty for you to find. That, and a link to Eric July's comic company, hope it all goes well.
  9. Funny thing is, they DID do that! It was called Spider-Girl and featured just that, Peter's daughter as the new spider themed hero. Much like Spider-Man 2099, that ended up spawning a whole line of titles under the MC2 banner. As in, a sequel to the comics currently running at that time. Every time there's a new type of Spider-Man book, this tends to be the case. Marvel 2099, Marvel Noir, Ultimate Marvel. Although in Spider-Gwen/Ghost-Spider's case, it ended up to help spawn the whole Spider-verse debacle of comics and more Gwen Stacy themed super heroes. They've banked so hard on marketing a Multiverse they tend to forget how to write an actual consistent world. Hence all the mobile games with Spider-People and films that just drown you out of anything self contained and consistent.
  10. I never saw much of the Zelda Cartoon until online years later, I did see the odd Super Mario Show here and there. Although regarding those cartoons, the one I saw the most outside of the Blue Blur, was the Blue Bomber. As in, Mega Man. I watched quite a good amount of it back in the day, although a lot of the episodes could get rather bizarre. The best episodes of that show were the first episode being an origin story, and a brief glimpse into the future with Mega Man X. Very much episodes that stuck with me being a fan of Mega Man at that time. XP Still, AoSTH and Underground were the main shows I watched video game adaption wise, as SatAM had very rare showings that I never saw. If I did, it must have been when I was too little to remember.
  11. Welcome one and all to a brand new topic for the site, another series of Forum topics much like WYDD and WCHBD, it's YHC! As in, You're Head Canon! Do you have a personal take on the series that makes sense to you, or is there a popular consensus that you agree with? Let us know what you've got! I'll start with one that's wildly popular, and one that I've kinda always thought made sense. The Popular Consensus one is that the Classic Games/Era takes place around the course of 4 years. This is kinda also a way to explain the massive age gap Amy had from 8 in the Classic games, to 12 by SA1. But under that logic, with exception to Tails, every other character like Sonic and Knuckles is younger as well. That would make Tails 12, which really doesn't change too much I suppose, but with the ages removed on Sonicchannel.jp I suppose it's free reign on what ages most of the characters are at this point. XP Now, a Head Canon of mine that makes sense to me is that Metal Sonic's Copy Ability from Sonic the Fighters and onwards, especially regarding Sonic Heroes, is based off of the Gizoid/Emerl. How Eggman managed to install such a feature implies that either he knew about Emerl via his Grandfather's Journal, had it for who knows how long, or somehow got Emerl earlier that we thought but couldn't use him. After all, in Sonic Battle he had much difficulty in trying to activate him before just throwing him away like trash. My guess is that he tried to replicate the ability via from his Grandfather's notes, so it's not Gizoid accurate as to how good it is for copying abilities, but still really impressive.
  12. After much speculation and leaked concept art, Sonic Prime has finally been released to Netflix for a wide, general audience. Headed by the team Man of Action (of the Ben 10 Series) and produced by SEGA and Cookie Jar Entertainment (who hold the rights to all three DiC created Sonic Cartoons of the 90’s). There has been much speculation as to how this Sonic Cartoon will fare, after the disappointing sitcom that was Sonic Boom. Yet there is much concern to a Sonic Series focused on a “Multiverse”, something the Blue Blur was no stranger within Comic Book Incarnations. With 8 Episodes a Season out of a 24 Episode run, how is this newest take on the series? Without too many spoilers, I’ll give you my thoughts as to how this dimensional hopping adventure has been so far… Sonic Prime: Season 1 Review A Paradox of a Series Premise: Taking place in a similar (or the same, according to an interview that’ll be linked toward the end) world of the games, Sonic has made a terrible mistake. After shattering a newly discovered powerful gemstone known as the Paradox Prism, Sonic has found himself in another world entirely, with different variations of friends and foes alike. The Blue Blur must find his way through different dimensions in this “Shatterverse” and hopefully find his way back home. However, these differing counterparts of familiar faces may provide more problems than expected, along with visions of his arch rival Shadow trying to tell him something, it’s gonna take a lot more than just attitude and brute force to get out of this mess. The show itself is based on the concept of the Multiverse, something that has recently become a popular fad due to the visual mediums of Marvel showcasing it to their audience with its more recent MCU content, and Sony Miles Morales Spider-Verse films. Which means that there are Many Worlds with different versions of you or people you know, it’s been a cheap popular cop out story device since comic books of the 60’s that’s only expanded more so in recent years. Animation: I can say that one positive of this show is that its animation is actually pretty decent, its action scenes aren’t stilted and there are several scenes that feel smooth. Simply put, this isn't like Sonic Boom which barely had any sort of a budget. XP Voice Acting: For the English Cast, it’s an entirely different group of VAs. VA Work tends to be very contentious among fans, however there is no need to worry about that regarding this show. All the new VAs do a fine job in their roles. They definitely feel like their characters and I can’t really complain, although there are two minor issues I have. Big sounds just a bit off earlier, and for some reason they have a VA voice only the Main Knuckles, but have someone else voice all his counterparts. It’s a very strange choice which I don’t understand. Fun Fact though, Brian Drummond (no relation to Ryan Drummond) who voices Eggman, previously voiced Knuckles in Sonic Underground all those years ago! It’s nice to see he’s got the range to voice Eggman, who for many Mike Pollock is simply irreplaceable. There are many different languages to hear this series too, and if you go with the Japanese Dub, you’ll find the VAs of the Games! Story: I can at least say, unlike in Sonic Boom there’s an actual story arc, with a few mini arcs for the other characters throughout the show. As in, there’s a recurring plot. But I’ll get more into some aspects of it later. Characters: Sonic is the only consistent character on the show due to the show’s premise, so it’s up to him to actually keep audiences interested. I will say that he’s very much Sonic, although a little too dense for my taste, although it makes me wonder if the reason for that was so younger audiences could get what’s going on. With a shifting roster of a cast, it’s surprising to see that we do have more of a recurring roster than you’d expect. If the mobile games Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces: Speed Battle have shown you, the most noticeable are Tails Nine (Simply refers to himself as Nine in the show) and Rusty Rose. The Former being a possibility if Tails had never met Sonic, while the Latter harkens back to something like Roboticization and Legionization. Otherwise…there’s not much else to say. Negatives: … The Concept of this show was a bad idea in the first place. I mean there’s a lot wrong with this series creatively and objectively, for one the first world and main focal point of the show so far called New Yoke (yes really) is nothing more than a distaff, discount counterpart of Robotropolis from Sonic SatAM. Why they couldn’t use any characters from the previous shows or if there was some sort of budgetary reason, or internal reason as to why they can’t use such characters despite one of the producers literally having the license of those shows is still beyond me. Only the above-mentioned characters are the ones that are tolerable, with Nine being a breath of fresh air as a competent Tails after Sonic Forces. While I know that the recent comics and Sonic Frontiers have backpedaled hard after the 2017 game, having Tails be far more pro-active in terms of tech and against robots was nice to see. That could very well be some bias in seeing such a form of the character, even if he isn’t written as well as he could have been. But he’s certainly far more tolerable compared to everyone else! The Main Villains of that World, and possibly of the series, is a strange, macabre group of Eggmen called the Chaos Council. Comprising of Eggman clones/himself throughout time/family members, it’s very unclear what these cutouts are supposed to be. Each of them with ridiculous names (hehe, Dr. Deep), although don’t be surprised that most of them don’t do much of anything. Yet somehow, every other character is worse. Now, I will say that the brief glimpses of the Normal Sonic Characters we get are fine, like a glimpse of a show we could have had. But the rest of these counterparts are somehow worse. The rest of them are inane, stupid, and strangely bloodthirsty. All of which have variations of a title (example, Sails Tails) to fit the theme of their Bad, Jungle, and Pirate Worlds shown throughout these episodes. Although you can tell which characters were given a sliver of thought, as those characters are the focus of these worlds. You could cut out these insert theme world characters and literally lose nothing of value. I’d say that these are basically for toy sales, if SEGA’s track record of Sonic Toys weren’t so poor. What really kills this whole show is the innate nihilism of its multiversal concept. Why should we care what happens to Sonic if there are other Sonics out there? For that matter, does anything that happens in this show really hold any weight in the grand scheme of things? I’m not just talking about the show’s context, which I can get in the Spoiler tag, I mean in terms of the Sonic Series as a whole. SEGA has a mile long track record of abandoning concepts and franchises as a whole, Sonic being no exception. Do you all honestly think after this show is over, even if it has one or two popular characters in it, that we’ll ever see them anywhere else ever again? All this does is create more variations of characters that will once more be abandoned, it doesn’t help that this show only uses content from the games only, and will very well likely not use anything from previous iterations considering this Series track record. All it does is make fans for characters you will never see again, which is just…cruel. Like Nine and Rusty Rose kids? Too Bad! Go buy our merch that only caters to our video games, what we put out in comic books and tv screens never matters! Overall: There are far too many allusions to previous shows in this, at least I keep finding them. They might not even be accidental, one character acts a lot like Sticks. I just don’t understand why this show exists at all. Was it because of a previous contractual obligation? Who can say? If this is to bring in a new, younger audience into Sonic, then hey that’s nice to have new fans. My problem is they’ll get roped in real quick as to how this series will dump characters you like that don’t fit the Games Canon, and there’s nothing they can do about it. This show is not the way to get an audience, and I honestly can’t recommend it for long term fans. I doubt it’ll get better as it goes along, but I can at least say that it’s a show that is made with some sort of budget that has a recurring story. However, it’s got the opposite problem of Sonic Boom, whereas you keep hopping to different worlds and variations, not knowing who will stick. Is this a story that really needs to be told? I can give the Spider-Verse movies some credit, whereas they used established variations of Spider-Man to hit some center of nostalgia, as shallow as it can be, with a curiosity over how they are adapted. This show however needlessly creates hollow, toy themed variations with no toy to sell. To variations of characters that kids who grow up with this will never see again, all this does is create a new generation of jaded fans that'll see the tricks that'll be played, and while the series is at a high point with Frontiers being successful, if that momentum doesn't keep, what then? If they don't acknowledge that past, how can there be a future? Especially when they know fans want to see the different characters from the heyday of the series. Who is this series for? The Younger Kids who are getting into Sonic? Or the eagle eyed fans who understand the allusions, or rather ghosts from previous entries? You can't be both and have a good show, especially if you are chasing the multiverse fad. I’ll always recommend the older DiC Cartoons, especially SatAM, and the Movies over this any day of the week, if you still like it then enjoy it while you still can, but don't be surprised if this show's legacy ebbs away like so many others. Bonus: Here’s a recent interview as to how the voice of Sonic and one of the showrunners view their new show, gotta say they sound far more optimistic about it than I am of it. Make of this what you will. https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/netflix-sonic-prime-deven-mack-logan-mcpherson-interview/#7
  13. Well, we got a scene from our Bad Dimension Tails on how things went south for Tails in this go around. Gotta say, it’s not a bad scene, and it’s really sweet to see Sonic perk up the lonely kid. Although the fact they had the two bullies from Origins in the Flashback makes me wonder when SEGA gave the Showrunners info on Origins to make that scene. I’ll probably check Prime out, watched every other Sonic Series, but I’m not expecting anything great. Jungle and Pirate World really hamper my enjoyment of this show, and cashing in on the Multiverse trend doesn’t help either.
  14. https://archive.org/stream/TwilightOfTheSuperheroes/TwilightOfTheSuperheroes_djvu.txt https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Script/TheTwilightOfTheSuperheroes So, Alan Moore! Certainly a famous, yet can also be a polarizing figure in comics. Known for Watchman and a few other titles you may or may not know about, he's mainly known now for having a burning distain for both Marvel and DC for a variety of reasons (ie, how creators are treated, how characters are treated, etc.). I'm saying this because I'd figure to update this topic with a possibly interesting discussion. Years ago, Alan Moore proposed a Big Crossover in the Late 80's, some time before he completely bowed out of DC entirely after Watchman. Basically the story was about a Time Traveller warning John Constantine from a message to his Future Self about a Dystopia where after multiple events, including many villains and heroes dead, along with every alien bar Superman banished from Earth, lead to a Feudal Future where multiple Houses ran by Super Heroes and Villains are the only form of Government left. It's also a murder mystery, with a gentleman dead due to reasons that are best left unsaid. Simply put, there's some big oddities with the story that I can't see happening in what's suppose to be a Possible Future. Like for one, there is no way I could ever see Wonder Woman adopt a Superwoman moniker after marrying Superman. Granted, them ending up together is very played out, but still. Another is the House of Thunder (Captain Marvel/Shazam), as in the whole house itself. Like seriously, why is it like that? That's not even getting into what Captain Marvel is into. o_o It's an interesting read if you are a comic book fan, but so much characterization is just really off regarding Superman, Captain Marvel, and others. I know it's suppose to be a possible future, but still. I can't see this story happening as it was jolted down without some major changes had it happened, heck it probably could have ended up similar to Watchman with how it was originally intended to use the Charlton cast of Heroes. Although without giving away the story for those that do want to read it, squick aside regarding the plot, the twist regarding what happens and who it is was pretty interesting. Also I find it interesting how Moore wanted a team of Batman, The Shadow, Doc Savage, and Tarzan. That in of itself sounds like an awesome team, as crazy as it is. It makes me wonder if many UK Comic Writers of that time were just innately cynical, yet the intentions of this story was to give the DC Superheroes a mythological end game. So that to Moore, they weren't just cashcows. I can understand the reasoning behind it, yet I can't say that how this proposal's draft was the best overall. Had things not gone south, it could have possibly happened. Had it, what do you think the landscape of DC Comics as a whole would have ended up? Let me know if you guys have read this before and give me your thoughts when you can. Also, I find it funny how Moore points out the problems with Crisis on Infinite Earths, and how his concerns regarding it eventually led said problems like Infinite, Final, and Dark Crisis, let alone other comics like The New 52 and other Multiversal Concepts. Even though this story was meant to bring back the Multiverse in a way.
  15. Apparently, Origins is the new Canon for how the first few games go from here on in. Thought it was important to add this in. Also, I played it! I mean, they’re still great games, but the collection itself is far less optimal than it could have been. Also I ran into a bad glitch with Carnival Night that didn’t let me run up a slope. Granted, I flew over it as Sonic & Tails, but it’s concerning if that’s a constant.
  16. One Ok Rock has a collab with Sonic on the official YouTube channel for their clean version of Vandalize.
  17. And now we got the full trailer up. Gotta say, I’m not a fan the more I see.
  18. I'll say this, the first two games can be really tough to play through, especially the latter if you want to unlock the Secret Boss...which, you only have one shot to fight him. X_X Otherwise, they're all pretty good to awesome games. The best ones are 2 and Primal Fury/Extreme, I do like the first one though and you could check out 3. 4 is the weakest entry in the whole series and a complete downer that the series ended off on. Hopefully, Eighting can get the rights and have Konami let them make a new entry in the series. Considering how they've headed a majority of popular, well received fighters like Tatsunoko and Marvel vs. Capcom 3, yeah I'd be awesome to see what they could do. I only hope they'd retcon 4, yes it's story is that bad. Despite some of it's pretty cool newcomers.
  19. Yu-Yu Hakusho has always been a favorite of mine, I think I first saw it on Toonami before it ended up on Adult Swim at the time. Although I've still never seen the final arc as after the Dark Tournament or so they stopped airing it. Seen some episodes with @TheRedStranger and it's held up very well. Now, I do like Dragon Ball overall, as well as Z, but it's a series that really became over bloated. As memorable as DB and DBZ are, the latter was certainly written in a slapdash way. Then again, I suppose that's how most Manga are usually written. On that note, Ronin Kenshin is also great favorite.
  20. So, any word on FNAF lately, because as far as I know aside from some Fanverse stuff, it's gone radio silent.
  21. Always loved the PS2's line up of games. Blew me away years ago before it came out when I saw a Japanese PS2 run Zone of the Enders at a hobby shop in California. It'd be nice to mod out a PS2 to run anything I'd want, though if I get a Saturn I'd probably do that first as those games that you'd want the most are usually stupid expensive. XP Although, it would save tons of money if you'd want to play some RPGs.
  22. I'd like to get Elden Ring whenever I can, just kinda waiting for a sale on my end. But I do generally like these Souls-Type games with their actiony combat, yet also that sort of dungeon crawling from early RPG games.
  23. It's finally come out, and I managed to get a hold of the US version myself too. Don't worry, you won't see an overly long post-review this time around. XP I really like it overall, although not having the Working Design translations does hurt it's value a bit, I say a bit as Crusader of Centy's original cart and complete in box is very expensive to legally own. So ultimately you do get your moneys worth. The game selection is really good, although I will say that it could be considered very niche in terms of titles. You have Truxton/Tatsujin, along with Hellfire in the US/EU version. Funny enough the US/EU version of the console gets more Genesis Games than CD Games than the Japanese version, as well as more Shooters. My real complaint regarding the lack of CD Games, Working Design translations aside, is we don't have something like Snatcher for example. I will say that among all the reviews I've seen, these are the only ones that don't laud it as the best thing ever. Although I do think the latter reviewer here is a bit harsh, it does make sense. But what is very clear, due to it's Amazon order exclusivity, is that this if for Hardcore Gamers and Collectors compared to the previous one. That, and due to a Semiconductor chip shortage that makes it a limited release. Though as of this post you can still order them. https://segaretro.org/Mega_Drive_Mini_2 If you want to see what sort of games are on it, please look up this list here or my previous posts on it. Lastly, I just to go over a brief moment regarding the new and unreleased games. If only to give you a more informed view on what you could play. Spatter & Super Locomotive: These are two Early 80's Arcade games, ported over to the Genesis some 10 years ago by M2, for no real reason other than for practice and because they like these games. Just goes to show how much M2 loves games and why I hold them in high regard. However, other than that, they are very simple games that probably won't hold your attention for much more than a few minutes at a time. Unless you really like some obscure early 80's games, I mean they're no Space Invaders or Pac-Man. I could see myself playing Spatter more, but otherwise these are okay games overall. Funny enough, M2 wanted to port these to their 3D Classics line, but were deemed too Niche to do so. Other than that, they are really good ports and deserve at least a brief look at. Funny enough, the main character of Spatter looks a lot like a Chao, but is apparently a coincidence. Star Mobile: A Sharp X68000 and PC-Engine CD game whose Mega Drive port was made in 1992, but never released until now. It's a nice puzzle game with an interesting concept as you balance stars on a scale of varied weight, with the goal of getting a certain number of stars on the scale each level. Crushing stars in-between the same color ones results in more Rests, which are how many stars you can drop, or destroy an incoming star that could land on the scale. It takes a bit to get used to, but it's pretty fun, albeit a bit difficult to wrap your head around. Much like it's original versions, it's still only a single player game that continues on seemingly forever. It comes with an in-game tutorial and even a warning indicator for the first few levels to help you out, so that can alleviate some of the difficulty as you get used to it. Overall, it's a pretty fun puzzle game that I do find myself coming back to with it's relaxing music, constellation imagery, and well thought out design. But again, it's only a one player game, which is kinda sad as it could have been really cool to see how a two player mode could have worked. Had it come out, I think it would have only stayed in Japan, other than that it's worth checking out. If this version of the game doesn't get dumped for awhile, aside from getting the Mini 2, you could always try to emulate it's other versions as well. Devi & Pii: This game was made as part of Takashi Iizuka's training when he first joined Sega before his involvement with Sonic 3, where your goal is to hit Devis with the side of your bottom paddle to free the angelic-like Piis. You also have a paddle above the screen that you can control with A & B at the same time as your bottom paddle. Your goal in later stages across 7 worlds is to collect more Piis to progress, followed by a Boss Fight at the end. This game does have Co-Op and a Versus mode, which is probably preferred as it is very tough to keep in mind of both paddles at once in far tougher levels. My main problem with the game is that hitting the Devis in the center of the paddle damages you and shrinks your screen, which is very bizzare to have that as a mechanic for a Breakout-Type game, dropping Devis also causes this. It's not a terrible game mind you, but it's just very odd and is clear that it was never meant to be released. Until M2 got word of it and managed to add it to the Mini 2, which for a novelty is pretty neat. Though, I don't see myself playing this title often. Fantasy Zone: Once again, M2 is dedicated to keep porting Fantasy Zone until the Sun burns out, which is fine by me as I've grown to really like and appreciate this game and series. This is an excellent port with a number of options such as choosing between old and new version of the game, and how fast your Rapid Fire can be, or if you want to turn it off. You also have a Super Easy mode, which gives you a bunch of gold and hit points to get through the game, and a Time Attack mode as well. Also, if you hold B and start any of these modes, the music will change that to Space Harrier, a game that is connected with this series. It's Fantasy Zone, it's a good arcade game and shooter, and it's Super Easy mode makes it far more accessible to others. Honestly, I think the game is classic and I can't recommend it enough for anyone to try it out. VS Puyo Puyo Sun: A Port of the Arcade/Saturn/PS1 game for the Genesis, complete with voice acting from the original ports! While M2 originally wanted to include the Full Game ported, due to time constraints however they could only fit in the Versus and Practice Mode of the game instead. Which really sucks and is the only bad mark that this game has, because otherwise it's a great port. If you have a friend that likes to play puzzle games, or want to see how well M2 did I'd recommend checking it out, but I sincerely want to see M2 someday finish and release a Full Genesis Port of Puyo Puyo Sun one day. Space Harrier I & II: Lastly, we have a two for one deal! Space Harrier II was one of the first Genesis games to be developed, but had the signs of an earlier title as it's scrolling was pretty rough as the hardware doesn't have any sort of Super Scalier technology like in the Arcade Original's hardware. Later titles could do scaling pretty well, which is the effect/illusion of 3D scrolling. Thanks to M2 though, not only does Space Harrier II has good sprite scaling, but it's gameplay runs smoother than ever! However, there is noticeable sprite flickering which could be a make it or break it moment for certain players. Then we have a brand new port of the Original Space Harrier for the Genesis, which back in the day could only be duplicated well with the 32X! However, because M2 are a collective of avid gamers, they managed to pull it off here and pretty well. It does however only run at half the framerate of the Arcade Original, and again does suffer with Sprite Flickering as well. It does contain the same options as SHII, along with a possible solution to the sprite flickering. If you hold right (or left, I'm not sure which in this case due to conflicting reports) as you select the options, you gain access to a Deflicker Mode, which features two options that offers possible solutions where it'll cut down on the sprite flicker, though not completely. Possibly due to running under the limitations of the Genesis hardware. Aside from these flaws, they aren't a game breaker for me personally, and I find these ports really fun! They're Space Harrier, and you can't really go wrong with the Arcade Hit. Oh, and for Space Harrier I, it's final boss is from the Master System version of the game Which was also ported to the Sega Ages version of Space Harrier, because M2 are Extra like that. So yeah, really fun and worth checking out. You get a arguably better version of Space Harrier II, plus a new port of Space Harrier as an added bonus. I'm conflicted about the Mini 2, it's a pretty good collectors item, though missing titles aside and no English versions of the Lunar games and Popful Mail make me think that this Mini was originally only going to be in Japan, yet sometime later was announced to have an US, then later an EU version as well. It's got a lot going for it and I really do like the selection of titles (though I'm not sure why Clay Fighter 1 is one here, let alone not choosing it's Tournament Edition). It doesn't have the general variety of the Mini 1, nor does it have a TON of Rare Games like the TG-16/PC-Engine Mini. But it does really have a lot going for it. Not to mention some games have a few extra versions, such as Truxton with a more accurate Arcade Soundtrack, or an Easy Version of Phantasy Star II. Of course you do have all regional versions to go by as well. If you are a huge Sega Fan and love more obscure, niche titles and hidden gems than get it whenever you can.
