  1. {I will be putting a Canonical Glossary of terms and places here as well as full map before we start. Expect material soon, as well as our introduction to the game. This glossary will be updated for future reference, chronicling what you have experienced in your adventures. There will also be a link to the rules for clear reference. You will be updated when this is unlocked.} ______ Synopsis: Glossary: Map: Locations: Continents: Celtivayne: Oretollia: [One you are in Now] •Kiamasturia - History/Culture: Factions: Characters: •Players - Indriell Istui (Played by Sorzo): A human cleric, Indriell is an Associate Professor of History at the Seminary of Hellensia. She has traveled to the city of Kiasmastauria in Qadesh in order to study at its famed archives and do research for the doctoral thesis she was been working on for the past two years, which explores the influence of geography on the art of various cultures. Jarvis "Dawnbreaker" - A swarthy ranger who's father was a great warrior of the South-kingdom of Kerma and who's mother was a fair skinned Bacahri Gypse roaming the northern coasts of Khiamasturia. Once a proud and seasoned tomb-raider, Jarvis life and memory has become a jumble of dark visions and abbothent visions. Haunted by a wretched darkness and a tragedy that took several he loved, Jarvis seeks only to secure the present world from the evils of Qadesh's ancient kingdom - at cost to even his own life. [Mike's character] [Ben's character] Caleb Kayne (Played by VHS): A youthful and aspiring half-elf wizard hailing from the fair and green forestlands of Celtivayne. [Perry's character] [F073's character] [Possibly Bytor] [Possibky Arcan] •NPC's - Xanadar the Liberator - [The Shah] [The Sultan] [Inquistor] ["The Cleric."] [The Insurgance Leader.] Noteworthy Items/ Treasures: --- Journal: ---- Prologue: The Galen. Jarvis & Layla. Jarvis "The Dawnbreaker stood at the edge of the cost-line, cerulean eyes afixed on the thin band of silver light from the waining moon. Quickly he decipher the omens men of his practice could keenly divine. Thick clouds were swirling about the struggling light, the same way jackals circle wounded pray. The waves were crashing with a push of chilly north wind. A tempest was brewing on the inky, writhing horizon. With a strike of lighting, he saw two struggling ships, clashing against the waves. In tow, tethered by a well knoted rope, a dusty woman fumbled at Jarvis's booted feet. She struck her knees against the slippery salt-stone. Her hands tied and her eyes wrapped in poultice-stained bandages, the new terrain made the once simple task of walking a painful chore. He sighed as he watched her fumble, knowing he would have to tend to her. Her lips were cracked from scarcity of water from their long journey. The women was foolish - she had lost her own waterskin when escaping the old filth-crustedcrypt which he caught her trespassing inside, clutching at her eyes as if they were seared by the sun. He hoped his poultice had done its work, and that the Galen was truly equipped with supplies as he hoped, especially medicine. ___ [Jarvis & Layla can now socialize. Jarvis does not want her meddling around here anymore - half tempted to get someone to ship her out of the country for messing with an ancient tomb.] [Everyone else make a perception check.]
  2. Appendix ------- [Appendicies] ________ [Mood music.] Prologue - Trek through The Thorned Ring. Mujammed felt the sting of sand as it whipped against the delicate ivory scales of her face. Her inner eye-lids instinctually blinked away the irritating grit and she let out an icy huff through her sun-scorched snout. She gave her pack-mule a spurring whip and egged it onwards to keep a steady pace whilst towing her covered carriage. She had been out here too long and her mouth was uncomfortably dry, the heat was taking its slow, gradual toll on this strange draconic traveler. It was her fifth day on the road from the green forests and fields of Celtivayne and already the world had become a much more dusty place. The uneven mountains that lined the thin band of this land had a tendency to drink up the rain in uneven ways, arbitrarily allowing some showers to slip passed one moment only to greedily drink all a thunderhead's bounty during the next. To Mujha', an amature (but by all means talented) merchant by trade the rough, uneven mountainscape reminded her of a crooked tax-collector, one garnering tariffs without a solid standard. The wadis were either as water-glutted as a floodplain or as dessicated as a mummy's corpse. One would be easy to cross, a gradual depression of sand speckled with dry-rotted driftwood around easy inclines out and in on either side. The other would be a mucky mosquito-bogged marsh of clay where brackish water pooled after the waters stilled after a long rain. And others, swiftly transformed by a torrential flood, malformed into a rabid rip-tide whose only intent was dragging you to death downstream. Truly this isthmus of Hâr-wâdí'géshar (or the "Whip of Water and Fire" as sung by Celti bards of the northlands) was realm of harsh extremes, a tenuous, fickle ring of land that chained civilizations together and bound continents like joint and sinew. Mujha knew that she must press through this whip-like sprawl in spite of its caprice and treacherous wiles. She had a singular goal, a driving muse, a grandiose aim that she would no longer be slaked by dreams or supressed by skeptics' demurres. She would she reach the heated sands of Qadesh, explore its history, culture, and ancient wonders, be a part of its conflict and chaos, and, just maybe, reap the wealth of its whirlwind. There was saying in her clan - Crisis is tinder, conflict is flint, when the spark alights those prepared find warmth, the foolish and flat-footed are burned. She would be neither flat-footed or foolish... --- [Pick white or black = 25. The weather remains fair.] [D20 Con check = 11; fail.] --- Hours of travel passed like shifting sands in an hourglass, a slow, bottlenecked trickle of progress. She urged herself up until the evening hours, withstanding the blazing sun of the afternoon. Fortunately the weather was fairly merciful besides the heat, but nevertheless she still knew deep down she would need to rest soon. Her throat was as parched as bleached bone and her tongue felt as dry as cotton. It was time for cool water and perhaps a good warm meal... Her stomach seemingly rumbled in agreement at that thought. The night would come soon, and with the night came the deceiving nocturnal chill of the dessert, a piercing cold hiding underneath the baked sands like a scorpion waiting for sun-down. With all this in mind, still the thought of setting up camp stubbornly weighed against her temptation to press onwards. She felt the urge to press into the night even if she must, each night unmoving was a day further away from Qadesh. [Feel free to do as you wish. Remember to your equipment list.]
  3. Though I did love a lot of lighthearted material, my stuff was bit more...gritty... in general. My dad was an adult comic book fan and we watched Batman a lot together. I have always had a taste for the more serious and heavy cartoons (one reason I love Satam). I really loved this one when I was little.
  4. For those who show excellent reputation, vision, and steady contributions to the site, we hope to open up a Minecraft Realm up for you soon. Here is where we will discuss plans, challenges, and exchange fond experiences pertaining to the official Server.
  5. For you fans of early modern history and anthros, here is a great online comic you might be interested in: http://www.lackadaisycats.com/ Lacadaisy takes place during the Prohibition in St Louis and focuses on a Speakheasy that is fading from glory as its industrious owner tragically is murdered. His widow, a poor musician turned pampered socialite, left alive, she resolves herself to push once more out of her comfort zone again and enlist the help of some veteran crew mixed with some young unlikelies to get back in the game and strike back at the viscous criminal underbelly that will use much more inglorious means to end them for good.
  6. http://sonicsundaystrips.tumblr.com All of them are free to view here. Enjoy.
  7. How many of you are familiar with the Video Game Crash of 1983?
  8. Yes...but it must suck to have an itch on your nose - you'd accidentally snap your neck.
  9. I would go back in time and and get a bunch of stock in Apple & Microsoft in their early days. I would then sell my Microsoft shares on a high note when the Dreamcast was lost and buy SEGA to reshape the bumpy transitional years of Sonic into a contiguous Satam-centered canon.
  10. Wulfsbane is still in talks. These guys are super busy right now because of the 25th Anniversary. We are hoping to get news this weekend.
  11. Have a favorite arc or issue of Feetway's Sonic comic? This is the perfect place for you Boomers.
  12. Have a favorite arc or issue of Archie Sonic? Here is where to geek out about it.
  13. For @WarTraveller a question many fans like himself deserve to have considered. Pushing petty lawsuits and EA mergers aside, how would you design and write Chronicles if you were at the helm of Bioware at the time? And, if you could, how would you continue it?
  14. Your line art is getting cleaner. Keep an eye on Craftmanship and do indeed look into the Painting tool SAI program. I really do hope you join in on our upcoming Weekly sketch thread.
  15. I am actually looking into some Star Wars Role-laying games right now for the Forum. Stuff like that gets you excited for it. Oh gosh, Thrawn is the man with the plan. Gotta love that crazy Sonuva Chiss. __ And more updates on Rogue One:
  16. Here is a question for you guys: What would you like to see from this idea?
  17. Now that we have that thread open, let's get back on topic. Any other takers?
  18. Where would you go if you were not bound by time? 1300's Cordoba? 500's New Mexico? 2500's Moon Colony? One rule: You can't go back and time and screw up major points in history (killing Hitler). You probably would not be able to do this anyways, you'd get arrested before you took a step into Reichstag, let alone during his youth in Vienna. Think practically.
  19. We were hoping to do F073, but since he seems to be occupied - we are reconsidering our first interview.
  20. The question is, why would he want to do something like that? What would be his motivation?
  21. I appreciate the depth of world-building in this one for sure. Something the games never seem to consider when it comes to its Mobian is the differences they would have both culturally and physically. Why there even Mobians walking around freely in Station Square in SA is something that is never really explained.
  22. 1. Nothing like the original; it would be like the later work we see in subsequent episodes. A great way to write the pilot would be to probably go back a few years at the rise of Sonic becoming "priority one" on Robotnik's hit-list. The story of Bunnie Rabbo becoming the "Rabbot" would also be worthy of an intro. We could see the horrors of the Freedom Fighter's struggle first hand and it would give us a great introduction to the world of Mobius's main conflict at the time. We could also establish the great writing maximum of Satam that Ben Hurst mentioned in his interview about the series - you must loose something to win; good stories are predicated on this (that's probably why Segasonic never has it. ;p) Applying this in this case, we see Bunnie loose a part of her own humanity to stave off Robotnik's schemes and see early that Sonic alone is not fast enough to stop Robotnik's war-machine. In fact I'd have him screw up quite badly. 2. A) This should be done with meticulous care as to preserve the unique tone and timbre of Satam. Satam should not be thrown into a Procrustean bed to be stretched and severed to fit a fractured series of games or comics that lack any canonical backbone. To do so it to create a deformed, metastatic Frankenstein filled with tumorous concepts that no longer garner the consistency and charm of Satam. The extant characters from any other series should instead be fitted inside its milieu and be bond to it thoroughly. Backstories should be tweaked, aesthetics reconsidered, and I would give them new voice actors. I am personally very passionate about furthering the tone and creative inertia that the second season left us with. I would dare say I would not even introduce Knuckles like Sea3on did into the series ever or in quite some time. I would dedicate much more time instead to Lupe, Dirk, Pollo, Bunnie, Rotor, Tails, and yes even Antoine (especially Antoine; he could actually have a good character-arc). I am not at liberty to say if or when you will see more characters be introduced in EoT from other sources but do note that we will be keeping to this aforementioned conviction of Satam-first. You will know and experience characters like Dirk, "Lucio," and Pollo and experience what potential they hold over someone as vague and one-dimensional as Vanilla the Rabbit or Storm the Albatross. B) Chaos Emeralds and Super Forms are very vague and undercooked idea. If this mcguffin were a muffin it'd be still doughy and cold inside (and the uncooked egg would give you salmonella). I do think however believe ardently Satam provides the best way to get anything out of the concept seeing that there is untapped lore in the Mandarans and various ancient cultures. I fear though that they could easily take over the story of Satam and keep it stuck repeating plots in episodes that we have already seen like the stories with the Secret Scrolls and the Power Stones. These are not broken, so let's not "fix" them with Chaos Emeralds. Again, I am not liberty to say much but if they will ever be introduced into EoT they'd need a facelift, an actual sense of lore and limitations, and need to be way less integral to the plot compared to the struggle to reclaim Mobius and the individual character's story of finding meaning in life beyond the fight that has defined their whole young lives. We already have ideas on how to do just this if the day ever comes; let's just say its would be a radically different approach than both the games, comics, and Sea3on... 3) There is a history to Satam. There is more potential there than multiple games have ever attempted to produce (which contains mostly only a tenuous attempt in SA2). There is much more beyond Robotnik and Robotropolis...much, much more than the Freedom FIghter's fight at hand. We see a taste of this with Ixsis Naugus and The Void. Factions, lands, histories, and future (and even prequel and interqual) stories could be Robotnik free for a long time and still be interesting. (But again, we'd rather show than tell) 4) All our characters deserve more backstory being revealed and affecting their character arcs. I would avoid just back-washing up exposition-dumps in the stories and keep them relevant to ongoing plots, adding internal conflict and some existential tension to the narrative. For example explaining Antoine's frightfulness and having him face his fears to grow as a character would be must for continuing the Satam story. You can only laugh at his cowardice for so long until he becomes distractedly unlikable. As for changes, I would probably revise Sonic's origins and how he got his powers. It is not yet told in Satam, but I've discussed with the writer of SM @Mike Arcade on how this could be done if one wanted to redo Satam from scratch. We both agree he should have not been born with powers, greatness should be thrusted upon him and not necessarily as young as the age of five. There is a lot more you can do with a character's arc by taking them from a place of disempowerment to sudden empowerment, both the pros and cons such an event would have on someone. 5) For Satam? I dare say it deserves to go that far, and with its potential for lore very well could, and here on this site, with good writing and world-building, it very well can. Eat your heart out Archie, the fans together can do it better. Mobius is our clay to shape, our creative playground in which we can create all sorts of amazing ideas.
