  1. https://teamforeveronline.wixsite.com/home/about These mods of the decompilation of Sonic 1 & 2, Sonic 1 Forever and Sonic 2 Absolute are bug fixed versions of the ports that also allow ease of access for certain features from the ports such as 7 Emeralds and Elemental Shields, along with extra features like the drop dash! There are even mods for these mods, which certainly shows how highly regarded they are. I can’t recommend them enough for fans of Sonic 1 & 2.
  2. Sweet! So far, we know that Ryu and Luke (whose beastly as the last DLC character in SFV) are going to be in the game. That’s a given, although I’d say that Chun-Li is a safe bet, obviously. Matter of fact, I should say what I think the Base Roster should be because we all know that we’ll get DLC and Season Passes. Unlike the small starting roster of SFV (12), Or that of Guilty Gear Strive (15, not too bad), I think they should start off with 20 to 26 characters. Gonna reserve 3 roster slots for new characters as they tend to introduce at least 4 new characters , but here’s what I’d like to see in the game. Ryu, Luke, Chun-Li, Guile, Alex, Sean, Dudley, Makoto, Ibuki, Oro, Necro, Remy, Sakura, Sodom, Mike Haggar, Guy, Crimson Viper, Juri, Laura, Ed, Falke, Akuma So yeah, lot of SF2 characters missing! Kinda like SFV, which brought back a lot of missing characters over time, and I think it’s about time to see more of those that haven’t had a spotlight. I mean Necro is kinda like a mix between Dhalsim and Blanka, plus with Alex and Haggar fill in the role Zangief has had for far too long. Heck I would have even scrapped Ken by default, if only for more characters to get a spotlight. It’s quite hard to balance out a fighting game roster, but at the very least this idea for the roster looks more complete. I think such a roster would also solve the problem of future DLC feeling like it should have been in the base game, which even with KOFXV didn’t avoid with Team South Town.
  3. I’ve heard that Beard Ryu is a favorite among fighter fans, kinda makes sense in terms of progression. Especially now that we are finally going past SF3 in the timeline. I don’t mind them going toward a more realistic look either, worked well for Devil May Cry 5. Though I do wonder what more out there looking characters like Adon or Necro would look like. If anyone wants, I can post my character wishlist and those who probably shouldn’t return.
  4. Here’s a long, but EXCELLENT idea on what an SA1 Remake could be like.
  5. Just wanted to showcase some neat Soundtrack mods, such as Seperate US Past Themes! Custom made Past Tracks that make traveling between present and past more fluid, rather than a bit jarring. So if you want a slightly different experience it’s got my approval. Here’s an interesting one! It gives a custom soundtrack that’s akin to those for Europe! It’s really neat! A look into what could have been perhaps? I’d say check it out.
  6. https://shop.sega.com/collections/sonic-the-hedgehog-movie Sega has an official page for Sonic Movie Merch, granted it hasn’t been updated with the sequel yet, but it’s a guarantee at this point.
  7. A new collection has been announced for this Summer! It includes the Arcade Ports of every Darkstalkers game and all the odds and ends 2D Fighters like Cyberbots, Red Earth (for the first time ever), and even Hyper Street Fighter II for the first time ever since it’s 2003 release! But that’s not all… Street Fighter 6 has officially been announced! And it looks like the teaser used the RE Engine! Looks like they’ll finally use a more realistic style for the characters.
  8. Donezo, although I’m not sure what could count, maybe the program that allows Windows 95/98 ports of Sega Games to be playable on Modern PCs count?
  9. Extra Life has become a thing because of Friday Night Funkin and I can’t even, how!? I knew the guy before he was cool! XP
  10. What held Shortfuse back regarding fans in STC (at least my interpretation of him) was that he came off as annoying due to always shouting out his origin and motivation. Although regarding his character, what held him back was being very reckless and aggressive regarding his revenge on Robotnik for trapping him in the Cybernik Armor. As in, Shortfuse got kicked out of the Freedom Fighters for being too reckless. Unless it's something else I'm probably not thinking of.
  11. @TheRedStranger @WarTraveller As someone who is regularly caught up with IDW Sonic, I can definitely see Shadow slowly losing it after taking out Tinker. After all, his characterization is very aloof and distant. Even though he is a part of Team Dark with Rouge and Omega. I'd say Maria's message might have been lost to Shadow at this point sometime even before this event. His character always felt off to me in IDW (though this is due to some odd mandates on how he's written from what I've heard). Now, the Metal Virus Arc might be avoided...for now. But that doesn't mean the grieving Starline wouldn't incorporate it sometime later. If anything, with testing he could possibly even refine it. Now Mr. Tinker being Eggman is revealed some time after the Neo Metal Arc from what I remember. But that doesn't mean Metal Sonic couldn't be a potential threat later. Overall, as the series is right now it wouldn't change too much funny enough. If anything, with the Metal Virus Arc subverted (at least for the time being), there would actually be a brief period of peace compared to the double whammy of Forces (presumably), Neo Metal Sonic, then the Metal Virus. It could also be possible that Starline could bring in the Zeti, but that in of itself would be extremely risky. Though the Imposters Surge and Kitsunami becoming a thing through Starline are certainly a possibility. Overall, from the shape of this Timeline, Eggman no longer being a factory does change quite a lot. If anything, it would make Starline a bigger, more vengeful threat. Fighting for the memory of his idol. Belle could be discovered by him and swayed over to his side, after all one of Sonic's friend did murder Mr. Tinker. Although with her in the village, that could mean she would have never been run out of her original home. Then there's the ever dormant virus, which again, could prove to be the biggest threat if its not disposed of. Lastly, we have a disturbed Shadow taking the law in his own hands. If Starline could capture Shadow and mess with his head...well that would make things far more troublesome for our Heroes to say the least.
  12. After a long absence @SonicSatamX93 it's about time someone answered these questions. 1. Regarding SatAM, in Blast to the Past Part 1, there IS a Great War referenced by King Acorn. Hence why Julian is going to be the head of the Ministry of Science after helping them win the War. So that in of itself is from the original show. The only difference is the context and details of what the Great War was about and who the Acorn Kingdom fought. We know what it was like in Archie Sonic regarding the Overlanders and later retcons regarding allies and foes, but that's about it. SatAM left it very open ended on the what, who, and why. There were a lot of problems on how the events which lead to the Great War in Archie Sonic, so regarding how I'd write it, I wouldn't be constrained to make a 1-to-1 copy of what happened in the comics. I'd have it that the Acorn Kingdom actually used guns for one, because a modern society that doesn't use them might as well have a sign on their front door that read "open season". Other than that, I'd just recommend to take the comic's Great War in broad strokes. Make it your own thing and how it predates the events of Robotnik's Coup and the Freedom Fighters. 2. They are quite contradictory in terms of methods, Robotnik using technology and Naugus being a Wizard. For that matter, in SatAM at least, we are never told that he's working to overthrow the King with Robotnik. All we know was that he worked with him in checking out The Void, and that's it. Honestly, there's a lot of wiggle room in interpreting him as a villain, or even an Anti-Villain. We do know that he would end up working with Snively in Season 3, but otherwise his motives for working with Robotnik, at least with The Void, and what other motivations he had are up in the air. I must stress that SatAM is NOT Archie Sonic, and vice versa. It's a common misconception that has been interpreted for far too long. 3. It's funny you mention that, as originally Robotnik and Snively were originally going to be from the 23rd Century, and were going to end up in the far future...that being Mobius. So ergo, they wouldn't have any family left. But for the question, I would say that at the very least you HAVE to make Robotnik's Brother of all people interesting. He was a literal one note character that got punked and roboticized barely an issue in. No idea what you could do for his Wife, but Hope does have a lot of potential. Although, it does work really well for her in being an analog to Maria for Shadow in the comic. But having a smart, Overlander ally could be really cool. All in all, it'd be simple to put them in, but if they have any sort of purpose could be kinda tricky. Especially regarding Snivley's character.
  13. Well I definitely called the first team being from Garou, and the characters on it are exactly who I thought they were. Very much hype! However, while I’m glad to see Geese Howard again with Team South Town, I do think that team falls under the unfortunate notion of DLC that should already be in the game by default. At least SNK gives us a beefy, awesome starting roster of 39 Characters. Way past more than other starting rosters in fighting games these days. I mean, considering Yamazaki was already DLC in the last game, plus Geese and Billy being in the last game by default, it rings a bit off to me. Though they are great villains to play as, having both Rock and Geese in is kinda odd as Rock has some moves from his dad here. I’m curious if there will be some shake ups to their move sets to justify them being DLC. Though that does play into DLC characters end up being a little too good gameplay wise (think Akuma in a lot of Street Fighter games for example). Though Rock was DLC in the last game (and a major surprise to boot), having B. Janet and Gato in after not seeing them for years with him in this team is kind of an exception to the rule. As in I’m not really tilted by it by comparison. That, and Rock Howard is MASSIVELY popular to not just SNK, but Fighting game fans as a whole. It does make sense to have him with the first DLC team. Because fans would literally pay to have him once again (though I doubt they could pull this off again for a 3rd time). I’m actually looking forward to see what the other two teams for the first season will be. Though I’m so calling one of them being the American Sports Team. XP
  14. I filled it out, certainly was interested as to why when I got the question with "What Visual Media have you seen?" Question arose, that AoSTH and SatAM was noticeably absent. Sonic Underground wasn't, funny enough.
  15. https://glossary.infil.net/ Considering I posted a Glossary for Shmup games, figured it'd be right to post the very extensive list of Fighting Game Terms. This has pretty much everything you need for mostly every fighting game out there, as much like Shooting Games, there are a lot of Universal Terminology. So enjoy!
  16. https://shmups.wiki/library/Help:Glossary Figured I'd share this with all of you, it's just a basic glossary of terms used for Shooting Games. Ever wanted to know what a 1CC is? Or what Grazing is and how to do it? Maybe you want to find out what's with these Arrange Modes or Labels mean? Well here you go!
  17. https://segaretro.org/Heavy_Nova For this topic, I just wanted to share an old favorite of mine. This game came out originally for the Sharp X68000 computer in Japan, and was then ported to the Mega-CD. Afterwards, it was then ported to the Sega Genesis for the US. It was going to come out in Europe, but never did. At least, not in retail, but it was a rental for Sweden. Weird porting history, from X68K to Mega-CD (Sega-CD), THEN the Mega Drive (Genesis) only in America. Now, a lot of places online tend to write this off as a bad game due to it's controls and music, but I may be the sole defender of this game. It's really not as bad as people say it is. It is a bit stiff, but it can be really fun. You gotta take you're time and strategize with your movements and attacks. It's all about timing with your hits and movements, rather than something fast pace like Street Fighter II. Best way I can describe it as a Mecha Karate Simulator, though in Versus Mode you can select some Robots that can't jump and can only Punch. It's Multiplayer is it's best feature to be honest, and it's great to play around with your friends. Also, the Music is actually really cool. I'll leave a playlist for the Genesis version as next to the Mega-CD version, it's the best rendition of the soundtrack. It's got some great beats with that fine FM Genesis Synth. My favorite track out of all of them has got to be the Results screen. Seriously, after all these years it's still stuck in my head. Very underrated to be honest. So, do any of you have a favorite game that is not well received? Let me know and let us appreciate it.
  18. So the video is gone, but by MK9 does this leak mean that we could see a Re-Release of Mortal Kombat 2011? If so, I'm all down for that. I know that we'll get some sort of Remaster of FFIX and Crono Cross in the future if those leaks are right. Seems like we'll have some cool stuff in the future.
  19. They really should have ended it in the first movie. Had they got with the "Matrix within the Matrix" twist that a lot of people thought they were going with in the first place for the 3rd film, maybe it could have at least given a trilogy of films a decent ending maybe. Animatrix was the only cool thing to come from the series.
  20. https://bloody-roar.net/?page_id=115 In other news, Christmas Day got a surprise with a Fan Re-Dub of Bloody Roar 2! Not just from any sort of fan group however, but an All-Star List of Voice Actors like Xander Mobius, Kira Buckland, and even Lisa Ortiz (known to us Sonic fans as the voice for Amy in several games)! It's great to see a group of fans give this game a love letter in this Re-Dub, hopefully if Bloody Roar gets revived, they can all voice these characters again one day.
  21. There were way better alternatives to bring back the Matrix, heck even the reason for Neo and Trinity coming back could have been a lot better, even though they were dead.
  22. So, while everyone is gearing up for the newest title in Sonic, along with an awaited Movie Sequel (feels surreal typing that), I wanted to give the latest upcoming Sonic Re-Release a highlight, alongside all those that came before it. We don't know too much about Sonic Origins, other than being a Collection of Ports (Not Emulated, apparently) of Sonic 1, 2, CD, and 3&K. With that in mind, what do you think this Collection will be like? Also, what is your favorite Collection or Re-release of Sonic? Let us know and get this discussion going.
  23. https://www.google.com/amp/s/boundingintocomics.com/2021/12/28/tsuburaya-productions-ceo-vows-to-grow-ultraman-fanbase-without-making-changes-for-western-audiences-in-order-to-compete-on-the-world-stage-we-need-to-make-use-of-japans-identity/amp/ The Company behind Ultraman are keeping the reigns on how they handle their series. Which is a good thing, considering how well a certain recent Western Adaption went.
