  1. Sounds like a possible thread. I would love to hear how everyone here would pull this cross over idea off.
  2. I have been around Sonic dialogue can be cringe worthy, but I think the silent protagonists is dead in games (eg. Mass Effect, Fable 3, Zelda in BoTW, and Fallout Four). And good riddance; it was getting old (I, the old man of 24 in the room, was there for all of it after all.) Seeing Mario and Star Fox voiced in Super Mario 64 was amazing at he time.As for RPG games, voice actors are not that expensive (many sadly are under paid). There are also a ton that would basically do it for chump change to break in the biz. Designers can give people more voices in character creation games to find the one you can best relate to. (And they can allow the game to be modded for even more.) -- As for Sonic and redesign, the Animation needs to express the narrative as much as the dialogue needs to inform narrative. Without dialogue you are not going to have a deeper context to the stories other than physical actions and reactions. I for one would hate to see Satam for example reduced to Sonic and Robotnik being a bizzare mime act. Sonic CD might have been a fun game in the 90's, but Satam was doing the animation much better at the same time. It's proof of concept of what the video games could have been if SoJ could get beyond its sociocentrism when it came to SoA. Imagine what a Sonic CD like game could have been if you such animations AND had Ben Hurst and Len Janson on board. PrinceBytor has an interesting perspective on CD I would like him to share to back me up on this.
  3. Playing Sonic Generations in 4K is a colorful blast (sometimes colorful - a very yellow Tails makes my eyes feel like I am staring into the sun). The game play was solid, the music well produced, the reinvention of the classic levels is pure nostalgic fun. I do think the story and dialogue sucked hard and it wracks my head with all the continuity problems Segasonic has though. Too bad we can't get some actual writing quality injected in the modern games. The series could benfit from a hiring of Len Janson...or summoning the spirit of Ben Hurst. *Pulls out a Witch-Doctor mask, a Ouija board, and a dead chicken.* XP
  4. Love to see the both of you write reviews for the Arc and see your diverse opinions on detail. We have a whole section for it on the site. Anyone have any more in depth critique on the present artists' depictions of the characters and their general style? What about the redesigns?
  5. One of my favorite's is this. I wish people take this advice today...
  6. I wasn't even born in the 80's - but somehow developed a taste for 80's styled music. Synthwave and chip tune music is one of my guilty pleasures when I am not listening to stuff like Progressive Hard-Rock/Heavy Metal.
  7. Every franchise nowadays seems to have its own spooky stories nowadays. Pokemon has a plethora of them. Some are chilling and well thought out, a dark twisting of what we once nostalgically fauned over as childhood play. With all this tale telling and theorizing comes a dose of maturity like yeast to dough. It causes what we love to rise a little and adds new zest; its a story growing up with us, broadening with our own horizons. Though some are cheap attempts at being "edgy" and come off as fanciful and farsical, they seem to really spark fun and thoughtful conversations about what we once saw a simple game with colorful monsters. With that said, what are some of your favorite fan theories and spooky stories?
  8. Hey F073 - just wanted to congratulate you at breaking the 200 view Mark. Keep on keeping on.
  9. So what's on your reading list? What have you been and are planning to read? I have been recently reading Creativity Inc, by Ed Catmul. It is about the rise of Pixar and the secrets of managing such an expansive creative company. I learned a lot of tricks about management from it, which already have informed the development of this very site. I whole hardheartedly recommend it, especially if you are prone to micromanaging, are overwhelmed by managing a large group trying to solve a creative problem, or just need to learn how to collaborate with others creatively. It is amazing to see Lasiter, Steve Jobs, and Catmul all created a whole new art form together in their own new unique way and breech through all the obstacles there were to create artful (and profitable) digital animations. It is inspirational to say the least.
  10. I am actually looking into some Star Wars Role-laying games right now for the Forum. Check the Knothole theater section for more details. So which group do you most relate with guys? Jedi, or Sith?
  11. Tell me if you can get a refund despite their to their two-hour policy. If you can't then people really should not get the DLC.
  12. We might be using the Gallery for Endorsed material and to highlight contest art and such. When that happens we will stress in announcement that people will support you here and other places (with likes, faves, ect.
  13. I pray so. Valve's pursuit to eat into the Wondows Market with their new O.S and eat away at their gaming monopoly is something I definitely support and I think more Valve games would help. If pulled off right this will just make Windows force to innovate and improve, and subsequently the consumer will win. I own both an Apple and Windows Machine and love how Steam accommodates for my both my 5K Mac (Audio and Graphcis design) and my custom "Overlord" Gaming/writing/bussiness PC. If they make an O.S with free games on it optimized for said O.S it would sweeten the deal for their "Bigger Picture." Realsing new software like this content should be a top priority. Games like Dead Rising Three could be their version of lead of SoA Tom Kalinski's Sonic/Genisis bundle. Kalinski broke Nintendo's monopoly on the console market by making Sonic free to play with your new Genisis. Before you know it - they had taken 65% of the console market. This could happen under the guidance of the great and mighty Gabe if they dished out killer free apps for O.S. On the other hand though, I'd they focus too much on hardware like the Vive, Steam Link, and Steam Controller irather than giving their new gaming O.S IP power and killer features then they could even make something as great as the Dreamcast and be too late to fix the problem that would come from it. If they want people to adopt their product, best learn from history. If they learn to Count to Three along with a new O.S then they can really start a PC gaming renaissance like consoles had in the 90's.
  14. That's a great program; you could do a lot for the corporate and public sector with that. It's a Nobel pursuit. The U.S is basically in a Economic Cold-War with the Chinese Communist government ("hybrid warfare") and they hit both our public and our private sectors pretty hard. My father is in the Deperatment of Defense and a federal employee in Frankfort; we are pretty certain that hackers got a hold of some info on him because of lousy cyber-defense in our current administration. That's bothersome seeing how Isis would love personal info on a military guy who works in logistics. That work can protect people like him (and by proxy myself) or people trying to improve the economy alike. I go to EKU and we are suppose to have a good Homeland Security department. I wonder how much they do in your field.
  15. That's hard to say because I have a lot in Season One and Two respectively. I will have to give this some thought. I have to say I love Ultra Sonic. I have never seen Sonic so humanized and empathetic than when having to loose a love one twice. It's character writing for our protagonist is brilliant. You get the same vibe in The Void with Sally and The King in season two.
  16. And we are so happy to have you, Daddler. Love the avatar; love that character.
  17. It's the only way to stop future Obama from getting his fabled third term through his time-traveling transgender mascarade as Hilary Clinton! After we ended his plot for Judgement Day and defeated Skynet by rewriting history via time-travel. Remember, there is no "proof" because it was all covered up by changing the past. XP ___ Anyways, it's great to have a another artist on board.
  18. I am debating on the use of the Gallery. A part of me would prefer you send links to your Deviant Arts - I want to give you all page view traffic specific for your work and give you watchers too.
  19. It's wonderful to have you. Cool stuff! Awesome that you are going the distance! Getting your Masters in Satam Studies, eh?
  20. Like with Rick's old question about the RP rules a few weeks back, you can now get a quick response from us here now. We hope this more concentrated setting will promote actual exchange pertaining to the rules. We merged topics to make this a bit more obvious than it already was that you could comment on the rules threads. We decided to send a more obvious invitation to do so. [By the way Rick we are talking about that now. We did not forget.]
  21. You know what would help you out a lot? Painting SAI. I ink my pencils that way to make the look real clean. You could also start coloring by setting up layers under the line work. Very good starting expression. I would lengthen her hair and add some wave to it, give her some lash-lines on her upper eye lid, and add a bit and more curve to the waist and hip. So far your rendition of characters are more feminine looking than many of the adrogenous looking characters in SEGA-style and lot less...well exaggerated...than the dramatic exception, Rouge. I would push the feminine features a tad more. Also, start innovating on the cybernetics and get creative. We want to see more and more your vision of these characters. Keep up the wonderful work, F07E
