I am reading Steel Boats, Iron Hearts: A U-Boat crewman last life aboard U-505 by Hans Goebler. oddly in the early chapters Goebler talks about his family more specifically his father as he was a veteran of the First World War on the eastern Front. Though he was a prisoner of war in Russia, he and many other POWs fought their way through the Russian civil war and witnessed the Bolsheviks atrocities to its own people back to Germany. Only to come home to not only a home country defeated but also a place had taken root in local labor unions. because his father after his experience in Russia refused to adhere to the communist unions ideals, he was blacklisted from working his old railroad official job. But with Hitler and the nazis coming into power Goebler’s father was able to regain his job. Goebler would become a second class machinist of the U-505 in February 11, 1942 under the command of Captain Axel Löwe. The documents the patrols and experiences from that time up to U-505’s capture among many his own experiences during the war an Post-war.

Sonic Satam X: Episode 1 V.30
Akessel92 replied to SonicSatamX93's topic in Sponsored Sonic Fan-Works
I guess seeing that it begins not just how Satam and Archie began their series or starting off on how Robotnik took over but rather in the aftermath and have the characters beginning the arcs on the lowest point possible. I also began reading the fourth chapter and saw how he brought Ari into the fold. Oh and I’m not surprised that Rosemary prowrer who’s a fugitive and pregnant with Tails isn’t surprising what is that she has a first born daughter. I am curious as to whom she is. -

I personally have my conclusions of Penders already made. And I feel I cannot make a thought out opinion without my irrational passions boiling over.- 9 replies

From the issues of tangle the lemur and whisper the wolf miniseries
-
I have watched bits and pieces of the episode because the DVR didn’t record the episode as I had hoped but from what bits I did see and trey Parker and Matt Stone’s public statement. This was a funny episode and exemplifies the problem of American corporations with global influence nowadays. They have all the money and market connections but basically sell out the values and country that built and forged their fortune. what’s worse is that it’s not just Disney, the NBA, or a weed farmer in on this China business. It’s Silicon Valley (Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), Hollywood and even Democrat and Republican politicians. Free trade with a country that suppresses free trade means nothing.

Well I have really neglected this thread. But anyway... here’s a summary and recap of the post neo-Metal sonic arc to the next one also, because of whisper the wolf and tangle the lemur’s popularity they currently have their own miniseries of comic.

Non Western Films & TV.
Akessel92 replied to Mike Arcade's topic in Live-Action TV/Cinema Discussions
With the 2019 movie Godzilla: king of the monsters coming out to theaters and with a future Godzilla vs King Kong movie in the works, I think it’s time to bring the topic of giant monster or Kaiju movies on this site. Kaiju is in translation from Japanese meaning strange or gigantic monster. For awhile this term was used to describe both legendary and prehistoric creatures. But as soon as films like “the beast from 20,000 fathoms” and “King Kong” made in the 1930s and 1940s came to Japanese movies screens before and after wwii, Japan’s Toho Studios would make its first Kaiju film with Gojira in 1954. later the movie was released in an edited and dubbed version to the United States as Godzilla: king of the monsters in 1956 which gave the giant radioactive breathing lizard monster international notoriety and fame. Godzilla would have several movies fighting or against monsters like King Ghidorah, a three headed lightning spewing dragon from outer space, fought King Kong once, and along with allying with a giant pteranodon known as Rodan and a giant moth named Mothra in several movies in Japan. Godzilla would also have two major American released movies excluding king of the monsters. He would also feature in his own American animated feature made by Hanna-Barbera and cameo in many television series both animated and live action. And as for comics he would have quite a few made by IDW as well as feature in the Marvel comics along with S.H.I.E.L.D, the fantastic four, and the Avengers. My first Godzilla movies was Godzilla vs King Kong and The loathed 1998 Godzilla movie. But I enjoyed seeing the movies of 1984-1995. I personally liking some of the recent movies made by Legendary productions with Godzilla 2014, Kong: Skull Island and I hope to enjoy Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). so I ask do you guys enjoy Kaiju movies like Godzilla and have seen others aside from the G-man as some fans call Godzilla. -

Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog movie

Yeah there is animation that is in uncanny valley territory. Some of it looks good. And Carrey seems decent in his role and later in trailer he does go bald and get the Uber Stache. The Badnik bots look like the ones from 06 and the second sonic riders game in terms of design aesthetics. Kinda disappointed they didn’t have the classic badniks (i.e., buzz bombers, motobugs, crabmeats, etc.) -

Potential Remakes, Revisions, and Remasters.
Akessel92 replied to Wulfsbane's topic in Postmodern Sonic Era (2012-202X)*
A part of me is keen on a remake but more a remaster of the adventure games. They should take notes from 343 studios in regards to their remaster/remake of Halo 2. -
Then again from what I gathered from metal overlord’s design was that neo metal copied the fighting and physical data along with absorbing the chaos emeralds from all the cast of the game of sonic heroes. Thus, he’s an amalgam of all the characters

What Could Have Been Different: Archie Sonic
Akessel92 replied to Mike Arcade's topic in Archie Sonic Spot
Arise from the realm of lost and forgotten threads! arise! To answer Mike: It’s likely they would have completed the genesis origins of the Post-SGW world of the comic and more character driven issues to Sonic Universe. As we saw in the unused content for Antoine and Bunnie in their Universe arcs. Here’s my question. How would you do the sonic/megaman crossovers differently?- 25 replies

The State of Gaming
Akessel92 replied to ByTor, Prince of Ro’den's topic in Video Gaming Discussions
I honestly think the whole battle royale style of multiplayer games is a fad and it will pass. I’m more looking forward to games like megaman 11 and the release of the megaman x collection which has hinted at a new megaman x game that’s is set to release as it has begun to hint at. -
Well I’m curious as to how to fit female cybertronians in the series as cybertronians only reproduce via artificial means or they just sprang up out of the surface of cybertron through Primus. Perhaps they could make cybertronians reproduce a way like humans do or at least robots in Futurama do a combination of being mass produced and natural processes but then biology of transformers need to be updated.
