  1. Okay so, been thinking about this one for awhile regarding SatAM. This is regarding Game Adaptions, only a few elements of the Games actually ended up in SatAM. Aside from Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, and Rings, we also had the Floating Island and Time Stones, albiet in a much different context. It makes me wonder if a story adaption for the Games could fit well in the context of SatAM, which brings me to this question. Which Game or Games would be the Best/Worst fit for a SatAM adaption and why?
  2. ...how does Ghostbusters count as an animated feature? In any case, haven't paid attention to animated movies outside of DC's track record in years, due to my apathy for Illumination Pictures and such.
  3. That could very well be the case, even her name sounds similar to Scourge, who I still don't understand how you could own a literal copy of Sonic (and Robotnik), but I digress. They look pretty cool (really like the black fur on Surge's forehead), but we'll see how this whole imposter thing works. Speaking of the word Imposter, makes me wonder if the Mini Series' title is a marketing gimmick considering the popularity of a certain game.
  4. I'm saddened by this news, yet I've also heard rumors that Chinese Game Devs are currently getting screwed over by The CCP too due to their concerns on people playing way too many video games (to escape their unfortunate lives). As of now, this is a rumor, and I sincerely hope that if this is true, he'd reconsider. Makes me wonder who else jumped to NetEase. They're also a rival company to Tencent as well.
  5. https://gamerant.com/yakuza-creator-toshihiro-nagoshi-leaving-sega/ Now normally I would post this on the Sega topic, yet the context of this is the creator leaving for NetEase, a Chinese developer. Apparently they have been gathering a lot of talent from multiple Japanese Companies. @TheRedStranger This might be right up your ally. Because this is a major concern of mine.
  6. Awesome! Although I do find it sad that...well you know, no SatAM throwback plushes. Still, it's cool to see Emerl and Mephiles again.
  7. Punishing difficulty in Early WRPGs in general. XP Although that's interesting to hear that wasn't always the case.
  8. I am all for a more emergence regarding games. Granted, at first I was taken aback by VR at first, but there's a lot of funny VR stuff out there. Imagine Skyrim, except you could hold a conversation with someone. Adaptive AI and Programming upon the base game, to the point you could create new endings even! Why stop there? Have that same Adaptive Programming and such, import an old ROM/Game, suddenly you are going on a First Person Final Fantasy! Then all you need to do is make it dream-like, as in feel like your mind was playing for as long as you usually would, but when the game is off its only been less than an hour or so! Granted, this is kinda off topic, sorta, but it raises so many questions and possibilities. On that note, it's amazing just how far Western RPG games have advanced gaming over the years. I mean Wizardry and Ultima are the inspirations for JRPGs like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy after all. I really do need to play those older WRPGs, however unlike JRPGs which get multiple, usually easier ports and remakes, it's not like that for those titles such as Might & Magic. But I've heard they can be really fun in their own way. @MoKat Perhaps you could say they were Dark Souls before Dark Souls. XP
  9. To be fair, I don't play a lot of them. I like some series overall, although Dragon Quest III and IV were an experience. Perhaps the name of the video game genre, RPG, is misleading? I mean they can be an experience in regards to either gameplay, strategy, story, or all of the above can be a highlight. Like Final Fantasy VII, Dragon Quest IV and V, or the Persona games. Not to mention Mass Effect, as blurry as that line is. Heck, I'd argue that Legend of Zelda is an Action RPG. But don't mistake me as some weeb drooling over some sort of "waifu" that doesn't know what being sociable is like in real life. Nothing beats out on Tabletop with Friends. Be it as Characters you create and play as, or even yourself. I find it a majorly missed opportunity that these famous series don't license themselves out for Tabletop games. I wanna eat an octorock dang it. XP
  10. Yup, I catched up with the whole series. Plus some excellent songs! The thumbnails say it all...and don't do this series enough justice. This is one of the best written Sonic things I've ever listened to in my life, especially with the basis of the games. Please check it out, and watch for the 10th Episode which will probably wrap things up.
  11. So does anyone have some RPG experiences they want to share? @TheRedStranger Got any Skyrim stories to tell? @Wulfsbane How has it been playing the Persona games? @Sorzo Got any Balder's Gate stories?
  12. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1124300/HUMANKIND/ Heard some interesting things about this game, suppose to be really good and published by Sega!
  13. I have most of the series on PC, really need to start playing them.
  14. Hi everyone, I decided to make this topic a lot more broader by including any time of "Mon" RPGs. While Pokemon will most likely still be a focus, this would save up topic space. So for starters... Classic Monster Rancher is coming back at the start of December! So if any of you remember this series, feel free to reminiscence about it. Although if you are emulating it or playing the originals and want some Rare Monsters, here's a way to obtain them! https://legendcup.com/laboratory.php Have fun!
  15. Check out the new short featuring everyone's...favorite squid thingies? Jade Wisp is pretty neat though.
  16. https://www.sonicstadium.org/2021/08/surge-the-tenrec-and-kit-the-fennec-idws-imposter-syndrome-miniseries-new-characters-revealed/ New Characters revealed. Some MAJOR Ashura/Scourge vibes with Surge. Has something to do with Starline. Did he pull a Project Shadow? In other news, you all check out that charming FCBD 2021 Story and the 30th Anniversary Comic? Let us know!
  17. Had a recent dream lately, it's quite odd so let me explain. It was called "Welcome to Slide City", basically it was an ARG Video Series on YouTube where a Young Mother and her 8 to 9 Year Old Son are dealing with a Zombie Apocalypse Scenario. Apparently they were going to go to an in-door theme park or something like Chuck E. Cheeses (maybe it was called Slide City), only for this to happen. Thing is though, it gets pretty weird as while it's perspective is the Son holding the phone recording all of their attempts to survive, there are no cars in the freeway or signs of riots and such. It's like the world is empty, except for themselves, the zombies, and a man they call Guy. This dude just appears out of nowhere to help them out in certain moments, and vanishes just as fast as he arrives. He turns a corner for example, and then he's gone. The Series ends (to my knowledge) with the Son getting bitten, for both our main characters to contemplate what to do (it gets dark to say the least), only for Guy and a friend of his to come out of an invisible,, mirror like door way to assist and take them...whereever they come from.. We get a Non-ARG camera shot from the sky as it pulls away from the ground, like someone was watching them, as a Zombie walks into the doorway. The last thing we hear, is Guy's panic voice "Don't let it get in here!" Odd thing to note about the series, wild life is present, but not infected. All animals seem fine, like dogs, cats, cows, etc. Most noticeably are Birds, there are a lot of Birds hanging out on ledges, wires, and so forth. As in much more you'd usually see, like there was an overpopulation of such. But they don't ever attack our protagonist, it's like they're watching them. Before the dream ended, I did some research on the ARG. Apparently there's a Let's Play that's connected to it that goes for as long as 47 parts (or more), and that Birds are a recurring topic for the LPers. Maybe the game they are playing has a lot to do with Birds? I don't know, as the dream ended. It seemed real enough, like a recollection, so I looked it up and unsurprisingly, it doesn't exist. It was a strange dream, but maybe you guys will like this post, let me know what you think.
  18. Hey dude, this response has been a long time coming. So considering how the OG FFers in Archie Sonic were, it could be simple enough to port them over wholesale. The artist of that story arc had a good fit for the look of the characters...except for Trey Scales. He's the main blunt of changes I'd make, as in give him legs so he doesn't look like a Lamia from Mythology. Just find that having Mobians born with no legs just a bizarre design choice that effected only two other characters. "But Snakes aren't suppose to have legs." Some may say, by that logic Rotor shouldn't walk at all and Knuckles needs to look like an actual Echidna. Look, if he can at least wrap himself around someone like a Snake and poison someone, then he's a Snake. Actually, he'd probably look a lot cooler that way. Another is to have him not be the Traitor, because anyone with common sense (and/or basic biblical know-how) would think initially that he'd be a turncoat. Having a clever red harring could really jump at the audience. "Who should it be then?" If you want to have a traitor at all, it's up to you. Bull Bones, Spot Long, Sir Peckers, and lastly Colonel Tig Stripes all look like cool characters and you wouldn't have to change too much...other than some better names for most of them. I mean Sir Peckers, really? Owls are awesome though, and on that note Spot is the only Giraffe Mobian...ever seen. Missed opportunity to see what others of his ilk are like. Honestly, Colonel Stripes has the best name out of all of them, except his first name anyway. So yeah, guess that's how I'd handle them in SatAM. @SonicSatamX93 @TheRedStranger @ByTor, Prince of Ro’den @MoKat Any thoughts?
  19. Happy 30th to the game that got me onto this genre, and Fighting Games by extension. Do any of you have some good SOR memories? Let me know. Mine was beating the game with my Mom years ago on the Sega CDX.
  20. Black Masa circa present day would be interesting, considering the timeline of Half-Life.
  21. Speak up and ask, you know I don't mind at all buddy. XP Granted, sometimes it's intentional (Virtua Fighter comes to mind). But really, they're not all bad. Didn't think Sub-Zero's VA in MK11 did a bad job.
  22. Welcome back folks! SAGE will be upon us once more in 2021! The list of games and such look excellent! Some really cool and interesting ones, some of which have been in the works for years. It's gonna be a good one.

Including Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Tales Of, Bier, and more! Gradius also gets a spot too. XP Best of all, Star Light Zone from Sonic gets a spot too!
