  1. It has come to my attention that many of you have never read Sonic's UK Comic equivalent to Archie Sonic, that being the famous and amazing Sonic The Comic, published by Fleetway around the same year, if not earlier then Archie Sonic. It has been talked about but never really looked into by many in the fandom despite a good chunk of the characters being somewhat well known, however today I'll finally enlighten you all to what I consider the best Sonic comic ever made. The comic itself doesn't go in an exact order at first, but I'll give you a brief low down on what it's about. The story is quite a contrast to other Sonic Stories released at the time, as it's origins come from SoA's Sonic Bible, when a kind scientist named Dr. Ovi Kintobor finds a brown hedgehog named Sonic they quickly hit it off. During that time two experiments go awry, Sonic uses Kintobor's new power sneakers and during a lab incident becomes the Super Fast Blue Hedgehog we come to know of. When Kintobor is testing an experiment out with the (then known) 6 Chaos Emeralds, upon tripping on a cord with a rotten egg in hand, he turns into the demented and insane Dr. Ivo Robotnik. Afterwards Sonic then has to stop his former friend from turning all the inhabitants into his Badnik Army and stop him from taking over Mobius. Sonic does so multiple times with two special occasions being the events on Sonic 1 and 2, literally. Along the way he ends up befriending Miles "Tails" Prower, or Pixel Brain as Sonic loves to poke fun at him, Johnny Lightfoot, the straight man of the group, and Porker Lewis, the always nervous techie of the group. After a few issues Sonic tells his friends what made Sonic and Robotnik who they are, when Robotnik ends up pulling a fast one of them and sends them 6 months into the future, where all of Mobius is offically Ruled By Robotnik, or RBR as it's known as. After that they officially form The Freedom Fighters, lead by Sonic to take Robotnik down and free Mobius. Sounds MUCH different then what your used to doesn't it? They end up recruiting new Freedom Fighters and allies along the way, such as Amy Rose who is unlike any other Pink Hedgehog you know of, the short tempered Shortfuse the Cybernik, and another techie Tekno the Canary. Along the way they meet Knuckles the Echidna, and fight against Metallix the Metal Sonic. There's a lot more to the series as well with different story arcs, new strange worlds, and a bunch more familiar and new characters alike. You really gotta check this series out on your own and discover what it holds, that little synopsis up there doesn't do it justice. Granted the series isn't perfect and there are some later issues or so that aren't up to par with the rest of the series, but it's a small price to pay for a mostly consistently great series. If your afraid that it will have similar problems to Archie Sonic did during it's run then do I have good news for you, I'm happy to say that STC has none of the problems Archie Sonic has or had, which is a breath of fresh air. Now there are some sillier moments here and there, I mean the origins of Sonic and Robotnik here are pretty ridiculous, but it's a small price to pay and can even be charming at times. Plus in earlier issues and throughout the series until later on you get Game Reviews, Articles, and even comics based off of other Sega Games! Like Shinobi, Ecco the Dolphin, Wonder Boy, Streets of Rage, and most popular of all in STC...Decap Attack! You get a lot of variety in STC, and it all ends up great overall. The series however ended up suffering a slow death after the last story arc and ended up doomed to reprints of past stories until it's end in issue 223, and most criminal of all STC has never seen any offical release...however... Years ago some fans got together and scanned every single issue and what few specials there were and posted them online, and when their site went down the series lived on from each file sharing and comic reading site, but officially out of publication. Now with many of you I assume who have never read this amazing series or know where to find them...I can't let that happen... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jurwh3wy4k7yawx/AAAvXGPuL5EKmCCpMBbzm0Hna?dl=0 That's right, I have it, The Complete Series available and ready to read just for you guys! Why else would the title of this be Sonic The Comic: The Complete Series? Right now you can download and read every issue of STC as it was intended, with all bonuses and Special Issues included. I refuse to let the Original Series die out, and you should too! So get on reading and enjoy the canon Sega wants you to forget. But that's not all! Nope, see 10 or so years back fans of STC couldn't let the world they grew up on in The UK die out, so the fans struck back and made their own continuation of STC known as Sonic The Comic Online. http://www.stconline.co.uk/ You can't keep a good series down, so much so that the former creators have even done some work on it as well and gave their blessing to it, making it what many call The Offical Unoffical Continuation of STC that continues on to this day. That is AMAZING to me, this is the canon that refuses to die! I can easily do an analysis on STC and what STC-O has so far, but perhaps that's a time for another day. If I may though, I will say how STC stands up overall, to me this is The Equal to SatAM in terms of importance, quality, and how good it is. I DO NOT say that lightly. I cannot recommend this series more then I already have, and I urge you my fellow Free Scribes to read what you may have missed for so long. To a Free Mobius! [Disclaimer: If Sega ends up somehow re-releasing Sonic The Comic - support the offical release.]
  2. The next edition of WWYDD involves the show that everyone either writes off or can't make up their mind on what to think about it, Sonic Underground. Simply put, all you gotta do is retool an idea from the show or add something to it, then say how you would do it differently, then we repeat the process over and over again, it's fun for the whole hedgehog family! With that said let's start it off with the most puzzling thing in the show's premise. How would you handle The Oracle's Prophecy and The Oracle himself?
  3. In a new edition of Reconstructed, we look into the "masterpiece" of a rock opera known as Sonic Underground, we try to make sense of the moments, characters, and story of one of the most polarizing entry in the series. That being said I got 3 questions for this one actually, answer any or all of them and then we can go from there one or many questions at a time, let's begin! 1. Why is it that the Roboticizer turns some people into full Robians, or turns them into Partial, Cyborg Like Robians? 2. What the heck is Dingo suppose to be, and why can he shape shift with the push of a remote control? 3. Why did The Oracle tell Robotnik of all people about the prophecy!?! Just what's his angle!?
  4. I'd say that was a little bit of a character flaw, heck at least he had a drive when it came to Women, unlike many Sonics who are borderline asexual.
  5. Mavrickindigo, welcome aboard! Though I gotta say you name does sound quite familiar to me, and not because of the DA group but I can't put my finger on it, either way the more the merrier, good to have you on.
  6. Another in the popular series, WWYDD! Start with a story element make it your way, although we should say "story" loosely here anyway, as it's AoSTH. But despite popular belief, it does have it's own canonical story , and even had a few recurring and returning characters. With that say, let's begin! How would you handle AoSTH Sonic, whose probably the most good guy and paragon Sonic of all?
  7. In the next line up of Sonic Reconstructed we have...AOSTH!?! How is this possible you may ask? I DARE YOU THAT'S WHY!!! @_@ But seriously I do think this show does have some merits, it's completely insane but hey it's also really fun, like a cracked out version of Road Runner cartoons, that being said let's begin. Why didn't Robotnik make more badniks for his SSSSS Squad like Scratch, Grounder, or Coconuts?
  8. As the first ever post of Mobius Obscura, welcome aboard as we look into the few and far between, the most unknown of the Sonic Series, and some of the most hard to find. Today I bring you all a comic that many of you I know have not read, I'm talking about the Sonic Adventure Comic...from France! http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Sonic_Adventures Actually it's called Sonic Adventures but I thought that title sounded better, this is a comic that takes place on a Mobius much similar to the one seen in Fleetway's Sonic The Comic, a good doctor gone bad, and a Sonic with much more of an attitude problem, also known as the best official Sonic. Anyway despite lasting only one issue, this comic has several differences compared to say STC, for one and most noticeably, The Echidnas are not as extinct as everyone thought they were, with an entire tribe of Echindas on Angel Island lead by a Princess named Alucion, an Orange Echidna who looks very similar to Tikal and Shade in some regards. In fact Alucion predates Tikal and is believe by some as the inspiration of her as well as the Echidna Tribe of SA1. With a cartoony style similar to something you'd see in an Astirx Comic, it's a very intersting read and a fascinating piece of history that won't be forgotten, especially since it was translated to English some years ago, the translated comic which I am linking to this topic right now as a matter of fact! My only real complaint...no Antoine, come on France what do you got against your own, seriously!? Sadly this is as I've said the only issue, as the 2nd Sonic Adventures book despite having a cover of Sonic and Knuckles, is only just a French Sonic & Knuckles Strategy Guide. On that note, Sega where's Alucion in Sonic Boom? Still, this is why I'm here, so that none of us forget even the most Obscure of Mobius and Sonic around. Check it out, discuss it, and enjoy! 9. At long last...The Mega Powers...UNITE!!!!! *Mike and Nagol are dressed as Hulk Hogan and Macho Man*
  10. I heard that the devs are really stepping up and even looking at the Classic Genesis games in terms of level design, but who knows what that could mean, I mean people can trash Rise of Lyric all they want, it earned that, but from the looks of things Shattered Crystal looked okay, this could be more then okay...hopefully.
  11. [Updated 2018] Welcome one and all, after much consideration it was about time this topic got broaden to not just Tokusatsu, but all Japanese Cinema and Television in general! Which does include Tokusatsu so there you go, if you've watched a Japanese TV shows or movies in general be that subtitled or dubbed then let us know. --- [Hi everyone, while this topic was originally about my crack pot theories on Godzilla, I decided to expand this topic to more then just my soap box for giant lizards and recycle it to a more broader topic, that being Tokusatsu in general! What's Tokusatsu? Generally it's a term to use for Giant Monster Movies and Multicolored Super Heroes that punch each other until they explode, any sort of Godzilla and Power Rangers stuff you see are perfect examples of it, though in Japan that also applies to shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who as well. However this topic should only be for those Tokusatsu Shows way over to the East, so if any of you watch those kinds of shows and just want to talk about it well here you go. I hope you like or rant about what you think of these insane shows we like to watch, until then also enjoy my original insane post. ] One of my favorite film series was introduced to me by my late grandpa when I was a little kid, he gave me a box of 7 Godzilla Movies, every since then I've been hooked on them and the series as a whole, I've seen nearly every single one of them, even Tristar's GINO (Godzilla in Name Only), or Zilla as he was dubbed in Final Wars now. I can't wait to see what happens next, I hope Godzilla 2 along with Skull Island and a rematch for King Kong comes out, and Godzilla Resurgence looks amazing with it's Nightmare Godzilla. On that note something occurred to me a few days ago and I just wanted to get it off my head, but since that can snowball into other topics I figured I'd join it with a whole topic dedicated to Godzilla Theories, I don't think anyone else will anyway. If anyone has their own theories go ahead and post them, also there are spoilers to every Godzilla Movie ever made so if you don't want to be spoiled you may come back later, if you've seen a lot of them or just don't care then join me as we go go Godzilla. *shot* Godzilla Final Wars takes place during The Heisei Era For those who need to be refreshed in the matter, there are 5 different eras to Godzilla, the Showa Era lasting from 1955 to 1975, the Heisei Era lasting from 1984 to 1993, the Millennium Era lasting from 1999 to 2004, the Legendary Era lasting from 2014 up to now if it's not completely cancelled as it might actually be, and...whatever Era Godzilla Resurgence starts, I hope they use the same Godzilla in this new Era, or at least have a continuity like in the Heisei Era. The very first Godzilla film from 1954 is the jumping off point to every era so far, sans Legendary Pictures Godzilla from 2014, The Millennium Era had the odd distinction of all the films not being connected to each other at all and always used 1954's Godzilla as a jumping off point, the only exception being the Godzilla and Kiryu/Mecha Godzilla films with the 2nd film taking some time after it. A stark contrast to the Showa Era and Heisei Era, which had a somewhat easy continuity to follow. Each Era had a ending as well, timeline wise the Showa Era ended with Destroy All Monsters, but release date wise ended with Terror of Mecha Godzilla. The Heisei Era however ended in a big way with Godzilla vs. Destroyah, Godzilla at his strongest and most vulnerable as Burning Godzilla, his most fearsome and powerful foe Destroyah, the apparent death of Godzilla Jr. (yes really, though it's actually pretty nice compared to Minilla), and in the end both monsters bite it as the JSSF barely prevent Godzilla from having a Nuclear Meltdown killing everyone and finish off Destroyah. However as the dust settled a new Godzilla appeared just before the credits rolled, Godzilla Jr. was revived from Godzilla's remaining power and a new Godzilla was formed...TOO BAD Toho didn't continue the series from there! People like to think and say that after that comes Godzilla 1999/2000 afterward, then Godzilla vs. Megaguirus but that's simply not the case, granted we got some really good films from it despite Godzilla vs. Megaguirus being a bit of a weak entry, thought that one isn't as bad as people say it is. GMK and The Kiryu films are some of the best Godzilla Movies ever made, Final Wars could have been better though...speaking of which... Final Wars beings with EDF fighting Godzilla in Antarctica sometime in the future I guess, with them trapping and freezing Godzilla much like in the film Godzilla Raids Again, if you've seen it you know how it goes, he gets freed by the Human Good Guys, Fights a whole bunch of monsters, and goes on to have a showdown with a familiar looking 3 headed monster. What does any of this have to do with The Heisei Era if it takes place in a different Era? Well, I finally get to the meat of the bones here. Excluding GMK due to being a revived Original Godzilla from the souls of people who died in the Japan Bombings (I'm not even kidding), each Millennium Godzilla looks similar with much more sharper spikes on it's back and similar shape, if it wasn't for a different color scheme in almost each film, and if it was connected with each other you could pass them off as the same Godzilla and have a continuing story. The only other exception is Godzilla from Final Wars. http://godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/MireGoji http://godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/KiryuGoji http://godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/FinalGoji See the difference? One of these things is not like the other here, that being FinalGoji's Design, however as stated in the link above it's stated that Godzilla in the film design was based mostly on the Godzilla from the Heisei Era as seen here. http://godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/MogeGoji Looks a bit more similar to FinalGoji doesn't it? But what if that doesn't end there...what if FinalGoji is actually the same Godzilla Jr. that we saw revived at the end of Godzilla vs. Destroyah? I can back this up though, for one each Millienium Film gives a subtle showing of Godzilla doing his Godzilla thing, swimming or about to walk on shore, either way in the beginning of a Godzilla film he's never usually shown in the mists of a big battle at the start...Final Wars on the other hand he's in the mists of a big battle against the EDF's Gotenga, why such an odd jumping off point? This Godzilla hasn't even been established yet right, so why the big battle? Here's where my theory kicks in, at the end of Godzilla vs. Destroyah Godzilla Jr. is revived as the new, grown up Godzilla, and as the old fisherman stated in Final Wars, he states that humanity did a terrible thing to Godzilla long ago, now this could be and probably is a heavy handed message about nuclear arms, as is the common theme of Nuclear Weapons being an act against nature, but what if he meant that literally? After all The JSSF did finish off Godzilla, and even though he was going to die anyway, did Godzilla Jr. really know that? For all we know Jr...or should I say Godzilla thought that the humans he once liked and cared for killed the only other Godzilla and Father he ever knew, thus being the terrible thing to spark Godzilla to rampage for who knows how long against humanity. Hence the jumping off point of Final Wars being a fight in the beginning of the film, it's a continuation of how This Godzilla was born under a Nuclear Frozen Wasteland, only to be defeated and contained in a Frozen Wasteland. That's not enough proof? There are contradictions? You sure about that? What about Rodan being in Final Wars, Rodan died in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla? It is a different Rodan, besides could they REALLY, ABSOLUTELY be sure that Rodan in that film was the last of it's kind, I mean how we get Little Godzilla is a bit screwy but there's something to do with Godzilla being around the egg that changed that Rodan's Egg into a Godzilla Egg...didn't fully understand that, or we could assume Godzilla and Rodan had a one night stand. Hey, no one ever said for sure that Rodan in that film was male, they just said it was male and ran with it. What about Mothra? What about Mothra, she survived her Heisei appearance, and even then she dies and gets reborn all the time, if your going to complain about her being the same Mothra due to looking different that really doesn't matter in this case. As for Battra if your wondering he didn't leave any larve behind at the end of that film anyway, hence no Battra. What about King Ghidorah and Kaiser Ghidorah? How can we have two Ghidorahs!?! Didn't stop the Rebirth of Mothra films. But I have a theory to support my theory, theoryception. Which is why I now have to talk about the Heisei Era King Ghidorah film, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, a cool film sure but one of the most confusing time travel and time loop stories ever made. Basically people from the future find the remains of Mecha King Ghidorah, go back in time and convince the Japanese Government of the present to change time and make it so that the 2nd Godzilla was never born. They do so, only to replace the Godzillasaurs with their own creations known as Dorants, born from Ghidorah's remains, which when the nuke is dropped created King Ghidorah. Long story short one good future girl changes it back so that Godzilla is alive, and now stronger thanks to dropping a better nuke on him, then going on to kill Ghidorah, wrecking the city, and Future Girl then convinces her Future People to revive Ghidorah into Mecha King Ghidorah, temporarily stopping Godzilla's rampage for now. Only for the people in the future to find Mecha king Ghidorah's remains, and go back in time t-*explodes* Now what bugged me most of all about this movie is that EVERYONE remembered the previously unaltered timeline of Godzilla doing his thing, even after King Ghidorah replaced Godzilla in the 2nd timeline, granted you get Godzilla again in the new and steady 3rd timeline but still. But that just raises more questions, as in in the 2nd or 3rd timeline, did Godzilla fight Biollante or did King Ghidorah fight Biollante? See where I'm going with this, in the 2nd timeline, or the 3rd who knows, Biollante was made with King Ghidorah's cells, same conclusion, Spores go up past the atmosphere, which if you are a fan of Godzilla would know that is one of the possible origins of Space Godzilla! So in this hypothetical timeline altered by The Futurians, yes that is what they are called, that happened resulting in somewhere out there, floating in space is the hypothetical Space King Ghidorah...until the Xillians got a hold of him, and altered him into what is now known as Monster X/Kaiser Ghidorah. But Space Godzilla existed in The Heisei Era, how can there be two- I actually have no idea, okay? I can admit that but not through my own fault, oh no not at all. Because we all know that time travel in The Heisei Era is completely screwed! Well, unless the Xillians could time travel just like...oh...wait a second...theoryception! The Xillians and Futurians are one in the same! Only possible explanation, after all Xillians are close enough to humans, have M-Base, and lived on the Earth in the past. Whose to say they aren't Futurians from further into their future, ended up turning in mutants which in turn have them ending up becoming The Xillians. After all the Futurians we're just as emotionless as the Xillians, except for that one girl. Whose to say they aren't? Anyway, that's how I feel this once simple but now very confusing theory goes down. If any of you got anything to say, other then Godzilla being Beyond Confusing, please do so, thank you.
  12. Some starting RPs would be nice to have, though I do like all the group reconstructions and reviews we've been doing as we just start out, other then those 3 not much else I can think of really. When it comes to custom characters I think that should be a surprise, something that is naturally revealed overtime, if it's revealed before we get into a story or RP that there are OC's there's no surprise and that takes you out of the experience being told before hand, making said characters seemingly unnatural. That and new characters for RPs are a given anyway. XP
  13. Glad to see where all on the same page here, good to know I'm not the only one with a burning contempt for Rosemary, Amadeus less so, at least he talked to his kid. Wendy being Naugus' Sister was very off putting to me, never made that connection at all and could have been just a separate character on her own, speaking of which the whole Troll race thing is really, really dumb, like the dumbest thing Flynn has ever made, I couldn't even believe it when I read about it. The Armada really should have been their own thing too, or at least show how that crap happened, I could believe it if it was developed and not dumped on us. Other then Cassia, who because of Clove is why she joined Eggman, no one else makes any sense, granted you have some characters from Pre-Reboot who worked with him previously, but most of the new characters are doing it out of Fear, no apparent reason, or actually believe in Eggman somehow. You can only use that excuse of fear for so few, and the latter about believing in Eggman is rather hilarious to me...and that's actually pretty interesting, though why they believe in him, Thunderbolt and Maw, I have no idea but it would be cool to know. It seems to me that they are stealing the spotlight and character development that the Freedom Fighters aren't getting, Cassia, Clove, and Nephthys somehow ended up more developed then any of the Freedom Fighters combined, and while I do like those 3 and what they could represent, still doesn't change the fact that compared to the villains or morally conflicted characters, the heroes are 2 dimensional! THAT's my main problem with Post-Reboot, I'm rooting for the wrong guys here because due to mandates you can only develop anyone that aren't the main characters. On that note, the Reboot should have just reset everything to the very first game, Sonic 1 and go from there if since the comic is more closely tied to the games anyway, you know what I mean, at least then we would possibly see the changes and development of these new versions of The Freedom Fighters, but I can't get invested in them anymore because they don't learn anything or don't change from what they are shown. WOW I went in a huge tangent, get used to that new folks.
  14. Yeah that's the thing when it comes to villains, unless a limelight episode shows you just how ruthless and/or evil they are, they shouldn't have a limelight episode. If that's the case when you start liking them you gotta be really careful with that, you can lead them on a bit and once they drop their guard you punch em in the crotch! At least when it comes to main antagonists, or just show how truly *bleep*ed up they are, not to mention that using comedy for him should have been handled much differently. Scourge was always meant to be a mad dog, though honestly he was kind of a little b*bleep*, though having him be pathetic might have been intentional, like a pathetic Tony Montana or PG Simon Phoenix, actually no not even that. Could have been done a lot better really, I mean I can see why he was made but he wasn't as brutal he made himself out to be, a poser, a tracer! Though I would have liked to see him go out violently in order to "prove" himself just as big as he made himself out to be, but make that what you will. Finitevus...yeah no real complaints, he was a legit psychopath, thumbs up. Mogul pretty much did the smartest thing he could do and wait it out, yeah it's a boring conclusion but it's logical, he should have been brought out for some reason to mix things up a bit but how he could have, well I'm not too sure. Even then, technically he's a villain but considering how I view the comic I'd say he was more along the lines of an Anti Villain in some regards, I can explain that later if you want. Naugus though, not much information on why he wanted to rule the kingdom, that's more of the problem I have with his plot more so then anything else. Just because? Well considering in one SU issue Silver's Future mentioned something about an Ixis Resurgence so this is speculation here, but did he want to make a world ruled by Ixis Magic, with him as the supreme Grand Master Mage-King? Would he get other apprentices? I don't know, that's just what I think his thing was building up to maybe. At least that would be a good reason, or a reason why at least. Even then I'd honestly say The Council of Acorns would the True Secondary Antagonists of that time in the comic, especially Rosemary Prower. I do think that you can have other villains besides Robotnik, or Eggman in a Sonic Story. It just depends on how it goes, but they better be impressive that's all I'm gonna say on the matter. Heck, some villains might even be right under their noses...hehehe... XP
  15. *Claps* I gotta say, I never thought of it that way before, great job man. I'm probably saying this because I've been watching The Dark Knight Movies lately, but that reminds me of how The Joker of that series turned Gotham upside down with just "a couple of drums of gasoline and a few bullets". I mean you don't get that kind of villain anymore in the comic, nowadays the so-called villains of the series Post-Reboot seem to be more like the actual protagonists of the comic rather then villains, at least regarding a majority of The Egg Bosses anyway. You don't get any villains anymore with a hint of espionage to them, or just being complete monsters other then Eggman.
  16. Interesting, very interesting topic here, I like it. Though I would like to point out several things, it is true that the term Silver Sonic applies only to the Archie Comics, in fact the Sonic 2 GG Silver Sonic that is referred to in the international manual, in fact according to the original manual in japan he is referred to as Mecha Sonic, technically we have 4 Mecha Sonics in Sega Sonic, including Test Tube Mecha in SA1. It's funny to me how Mecha Sonic from S3&K has the most prominent ability of using the emeralds to use a Super Form, you'd think SEGA would latch on to him but Metal Sonic just ends up being more popular, unless we're talking about the fanbase which could make that comparison more head to head. I mean I would like to see Mecha make a new appearance but that's highly unlikely. Rocket Metal I believe is actually a robot Tails made to spy on The Death Egg II, but I can't remember where I got that info from, I'll have to fact check that. I would like to point out that "Titan Metal Sonic" as he's dubbed in Archie Sonic is called Metal Sonic Kai when it comes to Sega Sonic, while Chaotix is somewhat unfinished if you ask me I think that's due to Robotnik using his Chaos Ring on him to undergo that...transformation? It's very unclear, much like Chaotix, and Sega Sonic in general. XP I'd also like to say that Metal Sonic in Rivals 2 pulled something of his own "will" at the end of Rivals 2, that being using a Chaos Emerald he had on him the whole time to get himself and Shadow out of that Ifrit Dimension. It's speculated that Eggman wiped Metal's Memory after Heroes though unconfirmed, but I don't think there are 2 Metals running around, just one that keeps getting rebuilt, going rogue, and getting mind wiped. You know Arcna, you just blew my mind a bit regarding the games, because I never presumed that Eggman could have had Emerl for who knows how long, and used him as a basis for Metal's Copy Ability. Actually, considering how Metal is similar to Dural in that game Robotnik might have had Emerl for years and used some Gizoid Tech on Metal around that time as early as that. I had a completely different thought process regarding the copy ability in Heroes, because it's never actually explained in the game. Thanks man, hope to see what other sort of Robots you have on this topic and your thoughts on them, though I would like to point out to go for either the Badniks next or The E-Series.
  17. Geez guys way to lighten the mood. XP Yeah it is unlikely, though in an optimistic perspective that's the best case scenario, even though it's highly unlikely. However I would like to point out that the mainstream public DID except a few serious...or at least semi-serious stories involving "furry" characters, such as The Secret of NIMH and especially The Lion King...though they were more animal in most regards, not to mention Duck Tales and Darkwing Duck being some pretty good examples, I would say SWAT Kats but that would be more my preference then anything else. I would like to say that Boom is a least somewhat successful, after all it's getting a 2nd season, though unless they change things around with how the show goes that might just be the last season it gets, then again Teen Titans GO is still around so heck if I know. Not only that but the toy sales from Boom have put in a decent profit if it's to be believed, though that's debatable. Though I will say this, Boom isn't as successful due to how the show is and the poor result of it's first wave of games, that's obvious to point out though, perhaps I could go into better detail with the show itself at another topic, but that's for another day. Honestly I struggled pointing out what Boom did right.
  18. I don't have a particular list per say, though I do think Boom has more flaws then perks that I would like to look over in the future, I can point out some good points to it though. For one it revitalized Sonic to a younger demographic that may or may not have known about Sonic beforehand, in that way Sega was successful as Sonic Boom did do this.Granted it's under a separate continuity from the games but with Sticks being incorporated into the latest Mario & Sonic Olympics Game it makes me wonder just what are they going to do with Boom and Sega Sonic. Speaking of which, Sticks has become the breakout character for the show, so much so that as I've mentioned is being brought in with the Sega Sonic cast in the previously mentioned game. This is very important to notice, as the only time a character outside of the games has appeared in one of the games was in Sonic Spinball having Sally, Bunnie, and Rotor, and Sonic Adventure DX's Mission Mode showing a promo poster of Sonic X with Chris Thorndyke. However unlike previous cameos, she is mentioned by name and is in the front lines, which has never happened before. This could bring in the possibility of other characters coming outside of the games into the games, though from previous series such as SatAM, STC, and so forth that seems unlikely. So why does that matter then? Well the thing is Sonic Boom parallels an interesting time of being the first Sonic show in years, Sonic Boom is obviously at this point a nonsense comedy with little to no stakes in the matter, much like another Sonic Cartoon from over 13 years ago. That's right, I'm comparing Sonic Boom as the modern counterpart of AoSTH. Granted AoSTH was ever more insane then Sonic Boom and had more stakes to it in some points, but it does raise an interesting question, what will come after Sonic Boom? Around the same time as AoSTH, but slightly after it's debut came SatAM, could history repeat itself? Could we get another Sonic Show afterwards that has some real stakes to it and characters we can relate and care about? Would it be a revival to the concept of Mobius and The Freedom Fighters, or go in a completely different direction? Who can say, but I will say that Sonic Boom for all it's zaniness and faults is that it opens up the possibility for something much greater to come after it, if that's the case Sonic Boom might have just been worth it after all. At least that's what I think about Sonic Boom's impact as a whole, as for the show itself...yeah I can point out some nice bits to it. Yeah Tails getting a girlfriend that he doesn't have to kill or a crush that turns heel is a nice change of pace, even though she's a complete block of wood it's a start. We do have Perci...whose only used as a generic background character despite having an actual name...hmm... Ah I got it, Swifty the Shrew, RADICAL SPEED!
  19. Impressive, I'd go for a similar route though I think a big attack would make for a good distraction elsewhere that wasn't the palace in Mobotropolis, and while that happens Robotnik takes the king, checkmate. Regarding Nicole though SatAM wise Robotnik really did a number on her, and gave her WAY too much power if we go by Ben Hurst's proposal, he really placed his bets on her as his ultimate weapon and was far too confident that he could control her, but that is how Robotnik works. On that note guys I've got two questions of my own. 1. How would you do Nicole's Origins in SatAM? My 2nd question on the other hand regards the lack of limelight she had in SatAM, that being... 2. When it comes to Bunnie, what would you have done with her?
  20. The dialogue below me are from a Skype chat I had a number of days ago regarding this same subject, hope you guys like it. Ah this topic, saw the video a week ago or so. I'll say that changing Strange's Mentor not into a Woman, but someone who wasn't Tibet was a cowards move. I mean I think the film will end up good, but still. As for Ghost in The Shell, I can say that it MIGHT be okay as Kisaragi's body artificial anyway and can look like whoever she wants, she looks different in just about EVERY incarnation anyway. But seriously though I'm not sure, if done tastefully then it MIGHT be okay in some regards, whose to say if it's right or not as we are all guilty of it. I mean in terms of a story, it shouldn't matter who plays who as long as the person is right for the role. Then again in some regards like in the live action Dragon Ball and King of Fighters movie it was horribly miscast, especially the latter film. How about this for an example, I'm not okay with Kyo Kusanagi being played by a white guy, but I'm okay with it if a white guy played as Ryo Sakazaki, as he's half Japanese and American. There are some workarounds with this, I mean heck Peter Dinklage's character in X-Men Days of Future Past wasn't written with him in mind, but it worked out so well. As long as it makes sense to the character's origins, background, and most importantly the story, that should depend when it's okay or not. I did like how NC pointed out that English Dubs is technically White Washing, that really got me thinking though. I mean after all we played as Mobians before in RPs and we aren't Mobians at all anyway. XP Perhaps it has to do with our perception of our world, after all you wouldn't see anyone ever making an all White Washed Version of Friday would you? If someone did THAT, people would be up in arms, riots in the streets. On that note, this reminds me of the Ghostbusters "Remake" People aren't mad that it's an all female Ghostbusters team, they are mad that it throws away everything established or a 3rd movie for a different continuity as it's substitute. That's what the whole Doctor Strange and Ghost in the Shell arguments remind me of actually. For those two movies, I can let it slide, at least I hope Doctor Strange's Mentor Changes weren't intentional. But in Strange's Case that's a whole new continuity, separate from what's been established but similar, while Ghost in the Shell has a logical reason why Kisaragi's body is white, but she's actually Japanese, and that's due to her Artificial "Shell". In conclusion, White Washing should only be done if it doesn't effect the logic and reality of the established fiction's story and intention, if it's compromised in the right way it can make for a good story, or even a better one, but in the wrong way the logic of the story and it's world falls apart if the actor fails to portray this role correctly. So did I hit all the points here or does anyone else want a crack at this?
  21. I believe there is literally NO explanation on why they don't move, though I do have a theory. Considering at that point in time Eggman was not only a Robot, but could also Roboticize with a touch, perhaps he roboticized them in a way so that they don't move be default, it's only when he gives them orders they could move.
  22. Since Wulfsbane made an Archie Sonic Reconstruction, I figured this would be a nice companion piece to it. This is exactly like Stranger's What Would You Do Differently? You redesign how certain elements from the comic would have been handled had you written for Archie Sonic, because let's face it; we would ALL change something in the comics, or several things really. XP That being said, I actually got 3 questions for you guys, that's how I roll when it comes to this. 1. How would you handle The Echidnas? Yes, of course this is the first question. 2. Since Sonic Adventure 1's adaption was half a straight forward adaption, half a complete mess, and Sonic Adventure 2's storyline was only a one issue promo for the game, how would you incorporate Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 into the comic? 3. Let's say, much like Ian Flynn did, you have to Reboot Archie Sonic. Reboot is literally the only option here, in that case how would you handle it?
  23. What's happening everybody, I'm Mike Arcade! So, it's been awhile for those who know me, due to some misadventures and such I figured it'd be a good time to introduce myself on our new Forums. For those who don't know me I'm a long time lurker from all around the Sonic Fanbase in general, several years ago I made my debut on a few places here and there, then settled, then vanished; Living in Obscurity as it said on my title in those forums. But NOW, with our solo debut my friends have cooked up, what better way to make a big comeback then to mod with my best friends in the world? I'm a big gamer, played just about any and almost every kind of video game you can think of, Platformers, Shmups, Fighters, FPS, Puzzle, I have a lot of favorites really. I read some books, a few novels but not enough, and sometimes I watch TV but most stream stuff, mostly old favorite shows and a few new ones here and there. Sonic has been one of my favorite series ever as a kid, and it's what got me into video games in the first place, I read a few issues of Archie Sonic here and there as a kid but gave me a mixed reaction to it, however once I discovered SatAM and The UK's own Sonic The Comic, the rest as they say is history. With that said, I hope to liven up the forums with topics, reviews, and other content as this place of ours rises and soars throughout the fanbase...nay, THE WHOLE WORLD!!! Till then, you see you around.
